So guys. Anybody have thoughts on the timejump and events contained therein? Either what caused things to happen (I'm kinda weirded out by the sudden recuperation of the fey, personally), or what it's likely to cause for the upcoming season? Anyone?

I am going to quote Sinthrea everywhere. This is the best quote. Or. If not the best, certainly one that needed to exist. “No amount of magic items will compensate for a lack of skill or intellect.” Anyway, I approve of the new queen for other reasons too. She screams warrior/mage type person at me, not because she necessarily literally is, but because she feels like one. She feels very balanced, and very knowledgeable. (Almost martial master-ish.)
Blackspire. Blackspire is interesting. I want to go learn about Blackspire.
And Scott, you appear to have started a trend with all your symbol work. Wheeee
Also. Gabriel found an interesting thing. [12/2/13 5:24:56 PM] Gabriel in an *intensifying* Santa hat: Also, Hoatyalie Roime is quenya for big sport hunting.
I will probably post more later but that's all for now.

I'm not really sure where to put this since it doesn't fit anywhere else. Is there a place for speculation? It sort of relates to the timejump, so I'll just put it here. Whatever. The first thing that caught my attention was that whole thing with oracle being the eyes of the world. I was talking with Gabriel about this a little in the innbox. If oracle is the eye, what is the ear? What about the voice? We speculated that the voice is probably ES. Thoughts, if you like? Dev said that he saw resurrection as breath, which makes some sense. So many of the other skills pertain to sight, though. Identify is not likely to be ears because it is more of an encyclopedia if I recall. I would like as many ideas as possible.
Yes, blackspire made me so happy. Not the part where they all died, though. Still. <3
Why did Hoatyalie Roime come here? That isn't really my question so much as why did they leave the west? They clearly aren't very nice. There may or may not be importance in their numbers. What there certainly is importance in is that fact that they showed up and killed a bunch of dragons.
This is all I will post right now because I am having simultaneous discussions about said topics.

Warning preface disclaimer thing: Even though I have finally found a proxy that lets me log in and post to the forum despite being blocked by proboards the post may still have issues or be double posted or turn into a newt or something. So, don't blame me too harshly if my post does something weird or rebels and burns down the forums.
Okay, actual post time. Of course, this is just initial reactions, so I'll keep it brief as I have no idea what I'm talking about yet. I'll probably do an actual analysis later when I have time and can think.
My guess is that most of the time jump events grow out of the world tethering spell. My thought process stems from the fact that the spell is described as strengthening the tethers of the world and shifting something. A tether holds something in place so that it doesn't go away, but that means it restricts it as well. While this is great for keeping the world from drifting away through rifts it also means that those on the world would have trouble reaching out. This may be part of the problem with the divine plane. Reaching out and being held back so your oracles get stuck in between realms and your eyes are exposed to the void or something of that sort. This isn't the whole issue with oracles, but I'll get back to it.
The shift is the other interesting part of the spell. I'm guessing that it doesn't just mean a change but also includes a somewhat physical or metaphysical shift. If it is then it may correspond to the change in fae behavior and the chain of unlucky events for vampires. If the world has shifted in a metaphysical way then it make sense that fae would have to get re-accustomed to it. Since the world as a whole is stronger the fae are less likely to be lost in the new world and are more likely to have a desire to explore it and poke at it in new ways, even if this means they are going to change their attitude and live in cities and play more pranks and tricks on people. Also, I counted fifteen city dots next to forests. If there was a shift in the form of a slight re-positioning then the fae may be drawn to cities as certain towns may be positioned where forests were on some metaphysical level or something.
It is possible that the Höatyalië Roimë (hurray fordiacriticalness) are also here as the result of a shift if it did indeed apply to the whole world. But at this point they could also be here because they ran out of game in the west or any number of other reasons. There was talk about their classes as all three dragons were warriors and one of the dragons and Wall are both veterans. But I don't have a sound enough theory yet to determine is classes mean anything. It would be nice to know what carakwaith they killed though...
Anyways, the oracles. It's not just the tether part that's important but the shift. There is something changed, but what? As a whole it seems to me like the world is becoming more rebellious and independent from the gods. There was also a thing Tony said about a change in how blessings were going to be given. I don't know if it's just Teriock, but supposedly blessings will require a group of people or a priest in order to even make a sacrifice. This points towards challenge in reaching the divine plane. But a disconnect with the divine plane means a disconnect from the gods and it may be that with gods having less of an influence of Roekron the world is more free to go in any direction without the pull of otherworldly beings pulling it this way or that. This and the shift may be what's causing the issue with fate. Also, “Until the floods that grace this earthly realm / Carry beyond the flooded plain.” A flood that graces the land doesn’t have a destructive connotation so much as one that allows a return and rebirth of life. This fits nicely with the spell as the prophecy specifics the plane and the material one has just been tethered. Also the flood gracing the realm may relate to the fae and therefore the world as a whole. Also, this isn’t a flood of just any old river. So, a flood of time that goes beyond the material realm would surely overwhelm or “blind” fate. And of course this is somehow all tied into the divine plane as well.
If fate is blind and gods, outsiders and vampires don’t have as much power over the world than who’s to say what direction it goes? The world may become more rebellious with its independence. Perhaps there would be rebellion, maybe fae would start playing more tricks on people, and maybe fighting would arise between the major magical forces… Perhaps it’s not just gods and outsiders that are being cast aside or forgotten or replaced. Maybe certain older leaders would step down and be replaced by younger ones. Maybe certain old and powerful mage schools would pay less heed to the current events in the world or there could be a “lack of appreciation for those who came before.”
Okay, my sarcasm is done. Feel free to tear apart what I’ve said or bash my logic or destroy my hopes and dreams or anything you want.

If the Hoaty are big game hunters, then it is possible that they came to Roekron because either they ran out of challenges in their native land or because they found out that we had bigger game. I also noticed that there was a correlation in the dragons that were killed, but they were not the only ones that had attempts made on them. However, if they are big game hunters, I'm not ready to say that they are bad or good, just ambitious.
I'm not sure that what Tony said about sacrifices relates to any major change in the world. That more seems like something that should have been happening the whole time as a way to limit and give some game balance to blessings. It also makes more sense. A priest would actually know how to facilitate a sacrifice. It's their job, they aren't just shrine janitors. Why should a barbarian be able to waltz up to a slab of stone and send an item to a god?
The fey does not surprise me at all. For junior league players who don't know, adult league spent a lot of the past season trying to help the fey and it seemed like we were largely successful. (I'm not sure why Kim is surprised...) The fact that they have been healed and are more active and more playful seems less like the result of some spell or some large mystery and more like the direct results or our actions.

The weirded-outness comes mostly from the fact that I'm still not entirely sure what the root of the problem was and what was causing them to dim in the first place, so I'm not quite sure which thing exactly we did to fix them, or what the key part was. It makes sense that after trying to fix them so much they're getting better - it's the "why" part that's missing for me.

i think i can answer that. The fey seem to hold together a giant "web of life" or whatever style spell that appears to be mutually beneficial. Just like bees benefit from pollinating flowers, the fey seem to get their innate magic and stuff from maintaining this "magic spell thing". The problem came when the vampires or someone bad wanted to weaken their power or the power of the spell and thus weaken the world. Such a person couldn't normally do that because the fey are protected from some very ANCIENT AND POWERFUL SORCERY that does a really good job keeping outsiders away. But then there were these null magic haunts... and when they became items the vampires or whomever realized that they could just destroy the protections around the faeries homes where the main power thingy/spirit of the forests/timey wimey/important parts of the web lie. If you look back at all the visions of a web being cut by something that passes through shields like they weren't even there (cause they were magic) it makes perfect sense.
Does that answer your question or do you know something i don't that makes me look like a complete twat? :-)

As to the thing that Karen said about the eyes, ears and voice, maybe the ears are riddles. It's also possible that I have no clue as to what I'm talking about and that riddles can't possibly be the ears. I'm just going to put that idea out there though.
