Repost pages 1-3
1st question: Rebirth is only AV=0, and you have to hit them with both hands, right?
2nd question: Are you aware when you are iceballed?
3rd question: In a situation where someone is trying to leave their body, how long does it take?
4th question: Can you stack multi-shot and Throwing training?
5th question: How long does it take to actually create an elder sorcery spell? Days, or weeks?
1. Rebirth is in the "tag" catagory. It is not a "Touch" but a two hand tag, sort of like how Disarm is a tag, nor AV=0 attack. This allows us to get around the Armor Zone system.
2. Contrary to popular belief, Ice Ball and Shock Touch leave you totally unaware of what is going on around you. We often play as if you know what is going on, mostly so people don't just stand right behind you and knock you out, but realistically, you are not suppose to hear, see, or sense anything while Shock Touched or Ice Balled, etc. Tree Form is different because you can revert from it and be reverted and is more like Polymorph than a time stop effect.
4. Yes
5. It depends on the spell, but yes, in adult League, one week per spell usually.
Is it legal to wield (in combat) a spear with only one hand without improved, of giant strength? is it not legal in junior, but legal in adult?
It is not usually legal to use a spear in one hand in Junior League. Notice I say "not usual" because there are Custom Spears that could be bought depending on where you are. A Custom One Handed Spear would look exactly the same but be able to be wielded in one hand. It would cost 16 instead of 8. The reason we have this rule in Junior League is because spears are dangerous for younger players too use one handed, and we want to keep people from being injured by the hafts, same as the staves. In Adult League the whole system is different. You don't buy equipment sets, you buy items and so it would depend on what item you bought whether it was one handed or two handed. In adult league league most spears are one handed.
What are the official requiarments of killing blow in Jr. league? I have heard lots of different ways, but i'm not even sure I know anymore, so if you could clarify, that would be awesome.
You don't have to hit them in an unarmored zone- anywhere will do. From the new Rule Book 2011..."Killing Blow: When a player wishes to not just wound a monster but actually kill the monster, they must use what we call “Killing Blows” which are strikes speci fically designed to kill an unconscious monster. To do this, the player must raise up there weapon above their head and call out “Killing blow 1!” and strike the wounded player. They must repeat this three times (i.e. Killing Blow 1, Killing Blow 2, Killing Blow 3) at which point the monster is then dead, not wounded. Keep in mind that killing an unconscious or wounded monster that is no threat to you will be perceived as evil by many players. While it might be to your advantage to kill a monster, it is still causing a death and thus can be see as murder. However, this is a fantasy world, where people can be resurrect ed quite easily. Thus, killing someone is not nearly as serious a crime as it is in the real world, and thus, most law enforcement will understand your need to kill monsters that are potentially going to be healed and attack you again."
Can you missile disarm with spells?
Yes- if the spell deals damage (and it won't be UB). Read Missile Disarm carefully. It says i using a Missile Attack. Thus, I can't missile disarm with Ice Ball, or Tree Form Ball, but I could wit Flame Ray, or Fireball, Death Ray, or Terror Ball, etc. The reason it won't be UB is because it says"works on Zones 0-4." it doesn't say that if you damage them they drop it, it says if you "hit them there" so you could use a Fireball but it would be effectively AV=0 for that purpose.
Would it pierce spell turning armor?
Yes.
Dose blizzard aura freez only peope or can it freez things to? like for exsample if someone was to throw a molitov coctale at you could it be frozen?
Yes, only living things. If I fire an arrow as you and you blizzard Aura, I freeze but the arrow does not. Think about it in game terms. Could we actually freeze that arrow and then when it thaws out let it keep going? No. This is why it only works on people.
pells are designed to work on people. They don't usually work well on objects. For example, you can teleport an item, only a person. So the person has to carry the item to get it there. Fireball might work on a tree somewhat as a tree is alive, but not so well ona building. This is not true of elder sorcery which simply IS. Most spells in Elder Sorcery still target people as that is easier to do, but fields and rituals can target anything. If a spell conjures lava... Lava IS. But if a spell burns a player but misses the person does it burn the wall- no because the spell is trying to burn a person. It helps to think in Magic the Gathering Terms. Does the spell read "deals 4 damage to target PERMANET" or does it say "target creature?". It will fizzle if the target is not legal.
This came up at the event this weekend: Does Warded items go through Adrenaline? I believe that it was ruled that warded knockout does, but does damage?
No, warded goes through resistances like magic resistance. and while adrenaline gives you a resistance to knockout and therefor warded knockout will cut though it, adrenaline also gives the ability to keep fighting intil you reach -4 HP. In this case you are not resisting the damage, you are simply in a state where you will not go down intil you are dead and that is not a resistance.
And another question, both for Junior and Adult League: Arcane Archery, can the arrows be dispelled when they become the spell? Or can they not be?
And to add on a question about an item. The Quiver of the Arcane Archer states that the arrow becomes the spell when fired, and dispel says when the spell is cast. So... is that any different from normal Arcane Archery?
Yes, arcane archery can be dispelled because it becomes a normal spell.
Does Silver block Mana Drain if it's UB? I know that it stops a Basic Mana Drain does it prevent the user from being mana drained instantly (i.e Silver Armor blocking a Demon or Vampire's Mana Drain)?
yes, they would have to hit you in the unarmored zone regardless of wether it is UB or not.
If you are wearing a cloak of magic resistance, is the cloak magic resistant, or does it make you magic resistant?
Usually an item of ability gives you that ability, unless it says the ability can only be used by the item.
