Bad news, guys. Sorikonia is falling into the Shadowlands. Just letting you know. This will in all likelihood happen at the end of the first campout due to prophecy references to the summer solstice. Definitely SOMETIME during the first campout. Fun, right? Absolutely. Oh yeah. And it's not exactly possible to prevent to our knowledge. Fortunately, a combination of prophecies, Ishmael, and Shen Sai Emeral have worked together to give us a heads up, and since we've been given the heads up, we might as well get planning. That is, after all, why having a heads up is useful.
So, what can we do about it? We can get ourselves a boat and work on evacuating anyone who doesn't want to be in Sorikonia (both NPCs and PCs) when this goes down. We can work on getting that key to that chest with the purple thing. Like. Fast. We can prepare those who are staying for the very literal hell to which we're bound. (If anyone has any plans on how to do this one, tell me.) We can all think about this and realize that the dark city is not our biggest problem anymore.
What else can we do? What do you think of the situation?
Do you feel like screaming at me right now for telling you something you really didn't want to know?
But seriously. Guys. We need a plan.

This sounds like fun (from a player standpoint). Get the purple stone, now. Try to clear the shrines? It might help. I honestly don't know, this is the first time I have been semi-involved with the plot.

Let's think, do any of the prophecies say what we should do...
The message in the Inn implied that it would be a journey and would be over at some point. The "Sorikonia's Screwed" one says something about the east reach. So yeah that's what I have to say for the moment.

Okay. Small announcement... Everybody going into the Shadowlands is somewhat involved with plot now, for better or for worse. We need you all to act rationally and not get up to any craziness. Personal gain and killing stuff may be fun, but you need to ABSTAIN once we get inside. Anything you do could potentially screw things up. If you don't want that responsibility, then leave. If you think you're ready, then please, please prove yourself right.

I don't think you understand. There are no shadowlands portals involved here... All of Sorikonia will become part of the Shadowlands, and there is nothing we can do to stop it. Hopefully this clears things up for you.

Also a point - camping out in front of the portal with the shield happened on the season finale last year. The shield doesn't really destroy undead (or outsiders); it exorcises them. In the case of an outsider (like Shadowlands creatures), exorcism means that it's sent back to its native plane. Unfortunately, they can appear anywhere within that plane that they want to, and they chose to reappear right next to the door so that they could just walk out again a few seconds later.
That would get ugly fast, basically. xD

So it seems the problem is what do we do once we get there, and what to prepare for before hand.
What we will do when we get there: Well I don't really know, I assume we try to get back. But that's obvious so how would we accomplish that. I like lists and objectives, if someone could come up with one that would be helpful to us all. (the message in the Inn said "What lands hold the fire, that will bring you back to here?" that sounds hopeful to me.(if not my characters))
What to do for the happening: As again I don't know for sure. But I have heard that some people have come up with things that would prepare for this world. I say stock up on food, because gold pieces will not be worth much where we are headed.

So what is the plan are we going to go down with sorikonia and kill some things try to get back and call it a day or are we going to evacuate?

Some of us are going down with Sorikonia. Those of us who are staying are not coming back until we accomplish the objective. Exactly what the objective is remains to be seen, but everything has a reason, and our going to the Shadowlands has a reason too.
Others of us are evacuating and hoping we can be of some use elsewhere. I think the plan for that is to get a ship, sail to Pinnacle, and then probably go up to Randwin to see if we can be of use to Ishmael. After all, she has helped us out, and if we aren't solving problems at home, we should return the favor. Also we can evacuate Sorikonians who want to get off the island before the Shadowlands happens.
My recommendation is a semi-permanent party split starting the afternoon of next Club. Meaning the leaving crew leaves, and the staying crew stays, and it's up to the staying crew to figure out if we'll ever see each other again, because gods know they have the more dangerous job.

I have no real comment here regarding your planning due to meta gaming but I should mention that the storyline will not follow you if you leave. You are set in Sorikonia for this season. That is where the camera is pointed. You can leave but the only things we will run will be Sorikonia. This is to emphasize that you cannot simply run from your problems. If you mess up your town, you have to del with it for the whole season. Thus, feel free to plan to leave or do what you like, but the only story will be what happens here in Sorikonia and if you choose to leave then you choose to remove your character from playing for the duration of the season. Just a heads up on that...

actually while we are in the shadowlands the only way we can stop the demons is morganti we cant exorcise them and we dont have to feel bad they are trying to morganti us too so the one time morgonti is appropriate is then

Am I permitted to cringe at that statement? Yes I am.
Dude. It's MORGANTI. Maybe we don't HAVE to feel bad, but I sure as hell hope we do, because if we don't, we aren't gonna last long. Do you know what we can learn from the fact that Despair was one of the three branches connecting us to the Shadowlands? The Shadowlands will try to kill us in more ways than one, and the minute you fight it with it's own fire, you're turning into it! That's like saying we should make our own hope-destroying elder sorceries because the vampires are doing it, or we should start hitting the Maimed with morganti because they were using it on us. However bad your enemy is, you do NOT sink to their level. That is what defines good. Your actions. Your choices. The easy paths you say "no" to because they compromise your beliefs.
Yes, there are good people that use morganti. But in a place that's going to try to steal your hope and your sense of right, you can't afford to be one of them, not unless you can give me a WAY better reason than "they did it first".
This is one of those topics on which I refuse to move ever if I'm being me. Characters will sometimes not share my views, but this is kind of THE most important lesson of adventuring to me. So.
