Due to current vampire problems in Teriok, I would like it if anyone on the forums could give me all their information on second Generation vampires. I'm trying to find the identity of a certain vampire named Lady belladona, presumably the head vampire in Teriok's dark city Grimlandi. I'm not really sure if this post belongs here or the teriok thread...so i put it here.

Er, I would love to answer this, but I need to check on rules first.
Namely, when it's things that affect in-game information, but the two people conversing are not necessarily two people who have characters who could actually be having this conversation and transferring the information... how should it be dealt with? Is it the equivalent of going and asking an NPC and getting an answer, or is it assumed that characters can transfer information somehow, or it is generally played out as "this can't happen, so the information should not be transferred in the first place"? Or like if somebody asks a history question without using any levels in historian, and someone (okay, I) wanted to answer it with all kinds of glorious detail but couldn't do it as a character... Like. Basically. I know that as a GM you have to be careful about how much you're giving and the context surrounding it, but how careful should players be in regards to the same?

The answer is that if you can help it, don't tell people info they shouldn't know in game. It makes it harder to not meta-game. The best way to do it is to ask the question In game and see whose characters have the answers. For example, "I am asking people at the Inn in New Elionass if they know anything about the history of Lady Beladona? Does anyone there know anything or want to share the info?" Or "I am researching with 15 lvls of Historian and the Library of Gritten what the history of lady belodonna might be." The. People can answer based on that info. As a secondary note though, it is assumed that chronicles ( unless stated otherwise) are public knowledge to anyone with reading and writing or historian, so you can read the chronicles or histories without worrying about meta gaming. You might want to check the download section of the website for the REALLY old forums too.
