From the Journal of Adran of Wu Clan, Samurai and Ranger Gramion Hold 21st of Eighth Moon
We set off towards the shrine of Klangden that we had investigated earlier. We had but three veteran adventures in our party that could hold their own against most any common foe. Their was the dwarf shrub, a nature and storm mage that could slay a giant with a single empathic ray. There was the decidedly more shady assassin whose guile and stealth had saved our party in this very cave, when after being charmed by a wraith, I proceeded to decimate our party until felled by a skeleton. Luckily, the assassin quickly dispatched the wraith. And then there was me. It had been a while since I had last adventured here. That had been a long time ago. It was before I learned how to avoid an enemy's strike and with the help of my party, cut down the most powerful of giants, and deflect boulders with a swing of my katana. But now we were all more powerful I had gained a cloak that even the most heavy of axe simply glanced off of. I had gained a helm with which the I could dispel spells that would normally melt straight through my weapons.
However, for all the new power our trio had gained we were still at a disadvantage. When we had previously adventured here we relied on the strength of party. Back then we were all in a classes with either armor or spells to protect us. Now we had only three heroes in classes. All the rest were but journey-men with only a few sparse magic items to set them apart. Many could not even wield the items providence had seen to give them. Despite, all that we attempted to overcome the obstacles we faced. We entered the dungeon and faced some little resistance from the zombies in our path. Then we came upon the three doors. From experience we knew two contained giants and the other kobolds, but we were not prepared for the horrors that awaited us in the hall of the Daged Men.

Our party decided to enter the hall of the giants first. We opened the door and saw three giants racing down the hall and suddenly they were somehow in the room . Two of the giants threw massive boulders that crushed two of our party, but we fought on. I assumed the role of bodyguard for our nature and storm mage ,Shrub, who, with a staff that granted bellows was our greatest chance of victory. With a thunderous voice, he incanted "BELLOWS LIGHTNING RAY. " The super-charged spell left his hand, but tragically glanced off a giants weapon. Shrub quickly threw an ice ball, freezing the giant, and retrieved his spell. Together, he and I advanced towards a second giant, and storm giant, and once again used bellows lighting ray. However the giant took the spells damage and still fought on. "They're greater giants," I yelled as I engaged the wounded giant. We engaged in a flurry of blows with a few making contact on my cloak but none were powerful enough to harm me. I knew that on my own I had no chance against such a foe, so I and snared it. As the fighting had progressed, much of our party had fallen to the strength of a third giant who was clad in chain mail. He worked his way through our party. No spells seemed capable of stopping him. "BEllOWS EMPATHIC RAY TO KILL" I heard called out behind me. I turned and saw that the first giant who we had engaged and had been iceballed by the age had been slain by an Empathic Ray. I and two other adventures fell back to protect the mage who had slain the first giant. "We need to take out the storm giant." I said. The mage nodded. "BEllOWS EMPATHIC RAY TO KILL" the mage once again called ,but the spell whizzed by the storm giant and into the cavern beyond. The mage began to flank the giant to retrieve his spell, I moved forward to engage the giant. As I stepped forward a boulder sailed past. I raised my quatar and slashed it out of the air. The chain mail giant had attempted to kill me with a mere boulder. I grinned and continued to press forward against the storm giant. The storm giant cast a lightning ray ,but it shattered harmlessly against my cloak. The giant cast an iceball in an attempt to remove from the combat so it could crush the more vulnerable members of my party. It impacted my cloak but in the split second before I became trapped in time I dispelled the magic. "Snare, snare, snare" I called, with lighting speed my sword darting from one leg to the other in an attempt to stall the storm giant. Finally the last strike made contact. I backed slowly away from the Storm Giant and turned just as the Bellowed Empathic ray struck the giant from behind. Two giants were down but the last one seemed to be unstoppable. Around it in a 20 foot circle lay boulders and the wounded bodies of our comrades . Shrub and I advanced towards the giant. "Heal them" I said, as I nodded towards our fallen party members, "I'll stall him." I walked forward towards the giant. Another boulder flew past me and nearly hit our assassin. At the last second I managed to use my katana to intercept it. Snare, snare, snare. Soon the giant was completely trapped. The entirety of the party, now revived, began to use arrows, spears, axes, and swords to cut apart the giant all the while I kept it trapped until it finally fell.

"Down we cast the lizard men" The words, part ancient inscription, resonated just as much as they when Shrub had first spoken the words. It had been in the presence of Lord Stonehammer and the rest of the party, and we had embarked for the first time to explore the mysterious shrine of Klangden. Shrine of Klangden outside Gramion Hold 18th of SeventhmoonThe stone door was massive. It was easy to believe that it could cut straight through a man like it had reportedly done to the dwarf explorer earlier. Even I would not dare enter. We attempted reading the riddle out loud. Unlike the common rift raffI had learned how to read and write from childhood, the grammar and spelling was slightly archaic and primitive compared to that of modern Desnor's. After a few minutes I successfully transcribed the runes onto the door.It had no effect. As I was writing, a shambling sound came from behind us. Behind us several kobolds were advancing upon us. We quickly despatched them. As the last one fell the door opened slightly. "Bravery" muttered Shrub. Before I had the chance, another one of our party members ,a crippled life mage, I believe, strode through the door without pause. The door opened all the way with a shuddering grind. The inside was darkness. We took out our torches and saw a passage the went on ahead for around fifty feet. I was the most defensible member ,even without my cloak , so naturally I took the lead, holding my silver runic katana in preparation to cut down the undead that surely awaited us inside. We did not have to wait long. Before us was a more open room crowded with undead. There were skeletons and zombies in abundance, but most terrifying of all was a wraith. It was there for one second and then suddenly gone, as my eyes adjusted I realized a could still see the faintest traces of its ethereal form moving towards me. "Hold the lesser undead," I cried to the rest of my party members. The ethereal wraith moved closer to me. I kept my eyes focused on it waiting for it to go materialize so I could duel it and strike it down before it could harm any of my part members. I turned my attention quickly back to the front lines. Our party was holding, but only just. They were getting pushed back by the waves of zombies and skeletons. I took a step forward to aid them. In the corner of my eye I saw the wraith materialize. Before I could evan raise my sword to strike it, it dashed in and placed its hand on my back. A red haze came over my vision. My master was turning to face the mage who was readying a spell. I rushed to his defense and cut down this threat. As the sword entered his flesh I heard him cry. "He's charmed!" The crippled half turned his head before my blade plunged into his back. With quick efficiency I felled them. A skeleton shambled towards me to come to my aid. WHACK. The skeletons axe cut into my arm. I sunk into unconsciousness. I awoke a few minutes later with my party surrounding me blades drawn. I felt lighter than usual and looked around. My weapons and armor were piled in a stack outside my reach. "What happened?" I asked, confused. The party explained that I had been charmed by the wraith. Only the luck of the skeleton felling me and our assassin's quick thinking in dispatching the wraith that had charmed me had saved our party from complete destruction. I got up and began the laborious process of putting back on my full plate. "So, whats next?" I asked.

21st of Eightmoon Inside the Shrine of Klangden "They just keep coming!" I thought desperately. The same thought had surged through my head the last time we came to this cursed crypt. Even after defeating giants and a wraith the party had somehow been defeated by the onslaught of kobolds. We faced this same sort of onslaught today. Looking around the room Shrub, and I saw yet more kobolds rush through the door towards us. For almost an hour we had fought them, killing them one by one. But for everyone one we killed it seemed that two more took their place and for every two we killed one of our party members fell. At first we were able to cover them. I held as many off as I could while Shrub used his nature magic to heal them. With it the bones un-shattered, skin regrew and those who by rights should have been dead came back to life. However it did not last. The kobolds simply came quicker than we could heal our wounded brethren. Step by step we lost ground until it looked like we going to to be pushed out of the room. Shrub went down. So did our assassin. Four kobolds advanced on me. More were no doubt coming. "I challenge you to a duel," I declared to the nearest one. So it went for a few minutes ,with both my, and the kobolds weapons, clanging against each other uselessly until I found a chink. So it went for the next two. The second kobold I dispatched quickly. The third seemed particularly aggressive and lunged at me as if i had no regard for itself what so ever. Unprepared for the kamakazi attack I thrust down with my sword. The kobolds sword had plunged into my chest. I endured the wound as best I could but it slowed me down considerably. Another kobold advanced towards me. I raised my sword "I challenge you to a..." A bolt of electricity shot by and hit the kobold squarely in the chest. I looked up and realized that Shrub had been revived. Somehow he had gained the power to heal himself. Standing behind him was the rest of the party. Three or four fresh kobold bodies were at the feet. Even as I looked at them, they seemed to fade and disappear. "Nice to see you back," I panted, looking at Shrub. "Shall we take on some Daged Men?" As it turns out, the quest to investigate the Shrine of Clanggedin failed in disgrace. The power of Shrub, the assassin and I was not enough to make up of the inexperience of our fellow party members and the devastating power of the "Dagged Men" or as we suspected and came to confirm, a Dagdeoth patrol. But a few of the enemies included were a Dark Troll, a Death Knight, a highly skilled skeleton and various other incredibly powerful troops. I myself barely destroyed the skeleton when it was instantly reanimated by the Death Knight. At that point, the survivors of our party made a tactical retreat. I covered our, retreat then pulled back myself. As soon as we left the room the apparitions disappeared. Bedraggled and tired, we returned to town. Luckily the day had not been a complete waste.

Shrine of Berronar True-Silver Morning of the 21st of Eighthmoon
The party I lead had already taken some minor losses. On the shrine to Berronar True-Silver, we had been set upon by griffins. They were easily enough dispatched, but a few of our party members had been devoured by a griffin that got away. I tracked it and we retrieved the body, but it still did not bode well for us. We came upon the golem that guarded the shrine. Someone put a mana in the golem. It slowly seemed to come to life and face us. From journeying here in the past, I knew only magic could harm it. I drew my large scimitar and indicated my intent to fight the golem. As the party watched, the golem and I exchanged blows. With a particular swift jab I evaded its parry and dealt it damage from my magic blade. It came to a stop, stood still and then suddenly a booming noise came forth. Six ogres appeared behind us. Anticipating their like, I had already studied their ways and knew if I could land but I single strike I could dispatch them. I moved in on them one after the other snaring and stabbing until they three fell. I turned and saw an ogre that seemed to be fighting a member of our party with significantly more grace that was to be expected. Then I realized. They were in a duel. I hate it when these filthy creatures used my use my nations secret forms for their own gain. I marched towards this samurai ogre. As I approached the ogre landed a savage strike upon my comrade, grievously wounding him. I winced as I saw the blood spill out and my companion slump to the ground. "I raised my silver katana and bellowed towards the ogre. "I challenge you to a duel" The ogre turned and faced me. For a single bated breath, the world stood still. Then everything moved with incredible speed . The ogre launched a blistering strike upon me, whichI deflected with my katar. I then plunged my sword into the ogre's (As a guildmaster of the Rangers I can not disclose the ogres weakness without revealing guild secrets of Hunting Party). It seemed to crumple for a second, then straightened. It had decided to make the use the ultimate move of bravery or desperation and defy its own death. It charged at me like only a creature that does not fear injury or death can. I sidestepped and brought my sword low onto it leg hamstringing and trapping it. As its defiance of death faded the duel ended. I turned and saw that the two ogres were still up, and three more party members had fallen to their blistering attacks. I advanced upon them and within a minute, after their weapons proved useless against me, they were defeated and our party healed. Unfortunately, we were forced to wait to enter the shrine until it had healed our three dead party members. Two more waves of ogres attacked during this time and were repulsed in much the same way as the first. Finally, the golem went to the door and, by pressing open the stone, made it move and turn open itself as if it was some sort of magic jigsaw puzzle. We then entered the shrine. Apparently Berronar was in the giving mood, even if not towards me.
I believe the final count was nine magic items given in total to a party of approximately fifteen. Of course,I had already been blessed by the shrine with one of Berronar's rings the month previously. Shrub did not do bad at all either when it came to magic items. Despite losing his memory and experiences after dying once in the Shrine of Clanggedin a fairy appeared to him, turned into an elf and gave him to a pair of incredibly powerful mithril coated swords. These swords had no flaws and I believe were identified as Spire Guard blades. Nor did I leave that day without my own reward in the form of experience enough that I am now ready to enter into a new class or progress in one of the paths I have already chosen, the Way of the Samurai.

13th of Ninthmoon Whiteforks
I journeyed to Whiteforks to begin assisting and bringing a little stability to that troubled town. A while back we had heard reports of some rather terrifying snow ball fights between storm giants and adventurers. Apparently since then the situation had devolved. Villagers attacked them and the giants were naturally angry and retaliated. God, why cant some of these idiots; adventures, villagers and soldiers just learn not attack opponents that are clearly too powerful to defeat. Anyway, the giants apparently had started ravaging Whiteforks and both Svodlun and the Stonehammers had come in to offer their help and protection and thus achieve control over Whiteforks. People are always complaining about how devious we adventures can be and how we can often be exploitative but these countries always seem to vying for control. We arrived at Whiteforks and were greeted by Shantill and Windsward Stonehammer, the two daughters of Lord Stonehammer and Lady Gramion. They both seemed pleasant enough, and Shantill made a point of introducing herself to each of us very courteously. Shantill seemed very much the mage, while Windsward was clearly the warrior with a large and ornate silver axe in her belt and leather armor of much the same make as her father's. They then sent us out on a mission. The party decided to go off and rescue some travelers. The party returned and we were greeted back by the representatives of Svodlun. One was clearly a mage and seemed a pleasant enough. On his belt he had a wooden wand that was ornately gilded with white and sky blue as well as a fine cloak and a fascinating orb. He introduced himself as Melimo Glimmereye. He thanked the party for their aid and took out a magic item for party from the sack on his back. It appeared to be be a javelin. “This is one of my creations,” said Melimo. This piqued my interest. An enchanter, especially one experienced enough to make a multitude of items, was someone to talk to and perhaps ask for help. “This item allows the wielder to have their missile weapons simply punch through armor. However its disadvantage is that you must have javelin for its effects to activate.” At this he smiled. He was clearly an incredibly crafty enchanter who had managed to guide the flaw of the item in a such a way that by the item's very nature, it was not a flaw at all.
Then his grace arrived, Prince Finn of Svodlun. He was cocky and arrogant, even for a royal. I should know having met many in my time in Desnor. He was so arrogant he even wrote a truly awful poem that went as he recited, “Of his strengths, where to begin? Perhaps his smile or youthful grin? When it comes to a fight, they will shrink from his might. His name is Norino Finn” As he recited his poem he had an incredibly annoying grin, as he considered his mere presence a gift to all those around him. He wore fine half plate and was festooned with magical or master crafted items hanging from a multitude of belts and sheaths. He then had the nerve to actually order us to complete a task for him. Apparently there had been some orcs raiding and making trouble and they wanted us to go deal with it.
We went out to go deal with it. The orcs came at us in three waves. The majority of the orcs wore no armor, but the one urukai wore chain mail. I charged the first wave. One orc had a javelin and throwing ax. “Duel.” My katana swung sharper and faster then it had before. Clearly the training I had gained had paid off. Without the distractions of the outside battle my mind seemed to clear and I became one with my blade, finding every weakness in my enemies armor. Orc after orc fell before my blade. “Duel!” I chose the orc at the back of the enemies formation. In my new invulnerable, etheral-like form I glided past the enemies. “Bow out.” I left the duel and began cutting down enemies from behind. With in seconds the entirety of the orcs was cut down. It persisted like this in much the same way. In many instances I simply went into a duel got in an angle behind a few enemies and then with a few good throwing axes or knives would take out several with in the space of seconds as their backs were turned. We gathered up the three urukai chiefs and began the journey back Whiteforks. As we traveled we were set upon by brittlemen. They might be awful warriors but they are ridiculously annoying to kill. You could hack off an arm, a leg, every single limb they had and they would just keep coming at you no matter what. It took us a while but eventually we killed them all off.
When we returned finally to Whiteforks where we were greeted by Melimo who asked us how it went. After a report in which we told him of what had happened, he told us that upon examining the orcs one of them had an Elder Goddess like broadsword. The party then voted to go into town and explore the market. This was very interesting because unlike in Grammion Hold, many of the residents viewed us suspiciously or even as interlopers. However it was also an amazing opportunity to talk to Melimo. He told me that even though he was not a magic item trader, he would be willing to help me find an item that would suit my needs. I needed a magic item to magically heal my hacks that I received while enduring the wounds as only a ranger can. Melimo was very forthcoming and found two magic items that could do this, but unfortunately I would be unable to wiled them. I suggested that as he was an enchanter he could possibly enchant my master crafted runic silver katana. At this point there was a commotion behind us. Villagers and people in our party had begun attacking and arguing with each other. Together with Melimo, and some other peacekeepers we broke up groups of adventurers and villagers arguing and beginning to fight each other. After it calmed down, we agreed on him enchanting my sword for me. He generously offered to enchant it for free as long as I helped maintain order around town. I of course accepted his offer. If he actually comes through I feel I will need to find some way to repay his generous offer. Perhaps assisting Svodlun in Whiteforks when the inevitable conflict for control of it comes to a head.
After the market I can't remember anything.I was killed and resurrected, but I can’t remember what happened to me. I was told that we fought some griffins, which we dispatched. I then apparently lured out the kobolds and after they attacked I almost single handily devastated most of each wave if not more while are healers worked incredibly well together to heal the party and hold the line. Seeing how potent I was, apparently during the third wave a large force of kobolds attacked me in force, surrounded me, and killed me. After I fell, the party had no time to resurrect me so they tried to face the kobolds alone but fell to their fourth wave.
After being resurrected, I left the necromancers guild and returned to the inn. The party was inn the middle of voting for the next mission. They decided on taking out some harpies that had been raiding ships. On the way we ran into a ship that seemed like there were pirates on it. However they didn’t attack so we just went on until we found the harpies. While they were annoying, especially as they kept staying out of reach, we eventually defeated them.
We came back and the party voted to patrol the river. I decided to stay back. The party returned bedraggled and weak. Almost all of the people besides Shrub who had magic items had been kidnapped. Less than half of the party had returned. The rest of our party came to rescue them. We beat them relatively quickly but unfortunately three drakes arrived and attacked. Amazingly one of the pirates came to our aid to help defeat them. That was the final mission I embarked on that day. I am still waiting to hear word on a mission to scout out some giants.

Twentieth of Ninthmoon Grammion Hold I discovered something truly troubling today. Ever since a group of adventurers went off to Hragnor’s Keep, alleged abode of the original creator of morganti, they have been acting rather oddly. I count myself lucky that I managed to miss going as I was caught up in dealing with some kobolds and by the time I returned the ship to the keep had already left Gramion Hold. When the party returned they seemed to act strange and sickly. They somehow seemed weaker than before and did not have the energy or heart to participate in as many missions as they once did. From Shrub on previous occasions I had discerned that this condition was called morganti fear but how it had happened he refused to say. After careful interrogation, using all my law enforcement training, I managed to get The Assassin to to tell me the truth. Apparently they encountered a morganti bear, a creature I had previously not known to exist. However when I questioned Shrub afterward he said that they had not fought the beast. He seemed to hint at the morganti fear being a price that had to be paid for something. What this morganti bear is needs to be further investigated. The party decided to go deal with some goblins, orcs and ogres. I decided not to go and instead some of us stayed in town. As I walked into town I heard a commotion ahead. There was a gladiator fight up ahead. Once I got closer I saw that a journeyman in our party, using a spear and chainmail, fighting the gladiator. The gladiator wore chainmail and used a katana and ninjato. His form was pretty sloppy, but he had ended up being able to parry away the spear and due to his chain mail shrug off our journeymen's spear thrusts. With a few steps he got inside the journeymen's guard and put his ninjato into the journeymen's chest. “You want to duel?” I asked. “Sure, but only for one gold.” He clearly wasn’t any real threat. “Duel.” Within two seconds my katana had pierced his armor and cut into his leg. After healing him, I got my gold. “I have a friend that can deal with you,” the gladiator said, and left. A couple minutes later a second gladiator came out. He was clearly much more grizzled and experienced. He carried a huge boulder in one hand and a longsword in the other. He wore chain mail. It was old and had clearly taken some beatings but still seemed very serviceable. “How much you want to bet?” I asked. “One gold.” I was disappointed. I really wanted to get a larger payout from this fight, but I took what was given. We took our places opposite each other. He stood still as if he was studying me and after a few seconds threw the boulder at me. I raised my qatar to deflect it. I had deflected boulders hundreds of time. It hit. I nearly blacked out. Somehow he had anticipated my movement. The force caught me full on the arm. It took all my ranger training to endure the pain and keep fighting. “Duel,” I gasped out. With one arm limp, I charged the gladiator. My mind cleared as the whole world faded away. I hacked and slashed at the gladiator, and after a minute my katana connected and cut through the chain as if it was nothing. I healed the gladiator and he grudgingly gave me a gold. “Rematch?” I asked. The gladiator turned stormed off after giving me a gold. Half an hour later, as I worked as a peacekeeper patrolling the town, I came upon a necromancer performing what he said was a ritual to go into the ethereal plane. The necromancers voice was so cold and withdrawn, almost depressed. It was like he did not even care about anything. A party member walked in the path of the ritual and interrupted it. “Death Ray.” Upon seeing him kill our party member I arrested the necromancer and brought him to the town jail. The party returned and decided to deal with some bandits. I stayed at town. The results when they returned weren’t pretty. Apparently an entire village had been allowed to be slaughtered and burned. A few members of the party that I trust told me that the party had stopped before going on to search for magic items. Our parties greed had cost lives. After returning the party decided to go on a mission to a dungeon. It was led by the same crazy baron that had led the party to Hragnor’s Keep and gotten them all morganti feared. This alone made me nervous, but the party we were bringing did not inspire much confidence. It was large, unwieldy and filled with journeymen. Dungeons like this require small elite forces that wont bogged down healing and resurrecting weaker members. While they were gone a small party decided to meet with some rangers from Axiems. We talked to them briefly, but nothing really occurred. Afterwards the party decided to visit the shrine of Berronar Truesilver. We approached it as before and defeated the golem and the orcs that it summoned. We entered the shrine and a few members sacrificed items and mana. In return, the shrine gave a magic axe, sword and ring. Some members were already beginning to show the first sign of mana insanity. I and a few others progress further to the riddle room. I approached the guardian statue and payed a mana. A voice in my head intoned: Axes and swords will not get you through. This and a little push will do. And some on the road would have fought and died, If it was not at hand to let them inside.I spent the first guess on hearing the riddle again. I told the party the riddle and began brainstorming. Initially I thought diplomacy, but it did not really fit for the part about pushing. I guessed key. An orb of energy appeared before me and was identified to be magic by the storm mages in our party. I pushed it into myself and felt a warm tinkling. I seemed to move faster and my reflexes were sharper. Two more members of the party went before the two other statues. The second riddle was one I had already heard at this shrine before. It was roughly “While neither herb nor spell, I comfort the sick and dying and inspire warriors. What am I?” From coming to this shrine before I new the answer was song ,and when the party member answered with it another orb appeared. Supposedly it gave him the ability to resurrect others. The third riddle went,”For leaders to possess it, they must give it.” The riddle reminded me of Desnor and the clans. How the best heads of clans always stands by us. “Loyalty, its loyalty.” My party member answered loyalty and another orb appeared. He pushed it into himself. Reportedly he know seems to be able to tell when anyone is lying. Many members in our party were now at negative mana. I conducted a tea ceremony and stabilized them. We returned to town and found the main party had already returned. Apparently they had defeated five golems, and crossed a river of lava. But near the end of the dungeon they ran into a very intimidating monster. As far as I know it has not been identified as anything yet, speculation ranges from a powerful haunt to a demon. What we do know is that it wielded a morganti sword and had a huge skeleton army at its back. The Monster, as I call it, chased them all out of the dungeon. Luckily, only one adventurer, a thief, was killed. The rest escaped. All we can do for know is hope that The Monster does not decide to leave its dungeon.

Grammion Hold Twentyfirst of Ninthmoon After the quest involving The Monster, I tracked down Shrub and obtained a full copy of the inscription that warned about the Shrine of Clangeddin. Here I transcribe it so that even if its forgotten by us, it will live on to perhaps warn others and aide them to conquer the shrine, even if we never succeed in completing its challenges. The possibility of our own demise seems vastly greater now that we know that a powerful force wields morganti, leads a large undead force and is relatively nearby. Here it is as decoded by the dwarf mage Shrub. Metals clash and wooden thud Sing the song of the battles spark With ever a foe before the acse (axes) We know your strength and we make our mark Down we cast the giant men who Whose hate does crush our light Down we cast the lizard men Who surround us in the stealth of night Down we cast the Daged men Who bring the world their strife Up we bring your endless courage And secure with it our life We sing of you in hallowed halls And here we guard your kin To seek the treasure of our make Open all with your name within
Here is the knowledge we have gained from first hand encounters. Greater details may be found in my past entries and my lead to a path for victory. We know that to open the door to it required courage and battle. The three races described are kobolds, giants and a group of Dagdeoth. They appear to be illusions who can be dispelled by paying mana, but to what degree they can be dispelled remains to be seen. It also seems that the challenges of the dungeon becoming greater each time. Initially it was only four kobolds to each adventurer or so. The last time we ventured their had ten or so waves. The giants also increased in power from two hill giants to three greater giants. We have only ever fought the Daged men once but we were unable to defeat a single wave. I hope that if we perish this report aids future generations.

Eleventh of Ninthmoon Whiteforks
I journeyed to Whiteforks to continue in its stabilization. The party began by going off to investigate a strange shimmering in the forest. When they came back, they reported that they had faced a hydra along the way. They discovered that the shimmering was some sort of portal, and they also found a brownie who had been killed by morganti. When they returned, Melimo came to the inn to give us our missions. The party decided to go and help bring in the harvest.
Before we headed off I went to talk to Milamo Glimmereye about the weapon I had him enchant for me. He returned my now magic runic silver katana. He had named it Silverfang and had enchanted it to allow me to strengthen myself whenever I triumphed over my enemies as well as heal my allies.
I decided to go out on the mission with the party. Despite winds so strong they could push back a man and hail cold enough to damage and freeze one, we managed to to collect the crops. I had never been so glad to own a cloak which allowed me to remained unaffected by the worst of the weather. When we returned, Melimo gave us one of his classic weapons as a reward. It was a battle hammer that gave knockback but could only be wielded by someone with a battle hammer.
We then went to go deal with some ogres that had occupied some farms.Along the way we ran into the farmers we had been sent to help. They asked us to come and help drive out the ogres. We advanced towards the ogres who had occupied the farms.
When we arrived, we found the ogres working out in the fields, tilling the earth and planting the harvest. Unfortunately the more brash and idiotic members of our party decided to attack the ogres without seeing how peaceful the ogres were being. Soon the entire party was attacking the ogres. Only a few besides myself, such as The Assassin (whose true name I learned that day was Dimitri), as well as the necromancer and now life mage Grum. We few attempted to protect the ogres. I was forced to cut down many a fellow adventurer in my defense of the ogres. I may have ruffled a few feathers among those little farmers due to the fact that they were among some of the people I had to wound to prevent the slaughter of the ogres. Eventually I managed to gather the ogres away from the farmers and the party. I asked them, "What are you doing here?"
To this they of course replied that they were farming. I talked for a few minutes with their leader and got them to agree to work for the farmers in exchange for some food. I then brought the offer to the farmers. They were very set in their ways and nearly did not accept my generous offer. However, once I reminded them that they could either take the offer and not have to work as much, or simply have the ogres take their land, the farmers were more willing to take the offer.
When we returned to town we recounted the deal we had made with the farmers and ogres to Shanteill and Prince Finn. The party then decided to go into town. Once there I began helping to keep order. There were a few people trying to start unsponsered gladiator fights, but besides that, it was relatively uneventful. Then it showed up. A shrouded figure. I attempted to question it and it stated that it was simply passing through. Losing interest, I decided to continue patrolling the town. As I was trying to break up a fight between a villager and someone from our party, I heard a commotion out behind me. I turned and saw a pack of adventures chasing the hooded figure. I decided to chase after them. Upon reaching the party I learned that the hooded one was undead and that Shanetill had tried to destroyed it but failed. Using my tracking skills I lead the party after it.
We turned a corner and saw the hooded undead waiting for us in the middle of the road. As we advanced, more undead and other enemies appeared out from behind the embankment and charged down on us. A few appeared to be wraiths, and many more bone warriors. My fellow adventures and I held for as long as we could. I slashed with Silverfang and wounded a wraith, but then he arrived. A human warrior with chainmail and two swords, one shimmering in flame.
"Duel," I called, trying to quickly destroy this new threat. With my mind clear I once again found every strike of my katana more quick and precise. I slashed at his armor with my magic sword, and NOTHING. The blade did not affect him. By all rights he should have fallen but he did not. As I fought, I saw the party beginning to crumble. With in the space of a thirty seconds two more of our party had fallen.
I knew we had no chance to defeat them. Especially when they had this invincible warrior to help them. Using my ranger training I quickly snared his leg and bowed out from the duel.
"Retreat, " I called to the remaining members of my party. Those who heard me heeded my call and together we turned to flee. Only five of us made it out. From one adventurer who left his body and was summoned, we know that they killed every single adventurer with a magic item and and then took the items. The party that returned recounted the terrifying tale to the Prince Finn and Shanetill.
The party then decided to go back out and attempt to rescue them. The innkeepers promised to send aid in to help with this quest, and Melimo even provided a few magic items to help in the fight. The aid they provided us appeared in the form of only two adventures. One a storm and life mage, the other a first rank barbarian. Neither proved enough in the coming battle. As we approached up the road the human with the flaming sword came down and attempted to bait us into a chase. However I held firm and did not give in. Instead I challenged him to a duel. Once again our blades locked with steel and sparks flew. Thrice I tried to strike him down, once with the magic of my blade, the next silver and the third time with simply cold steel. All failed to harm him in the slightest. My party was holding behind me as the duel progressed, and did not engage. I snared the human with my sword, left the duel and rejoined my party back down the road. He too retreated back up the road. In the second wave they came at us as we were trying to flank their ambush party. Three heroes attempted to hold the road and our flank but quickly fell to the flaming sword and his two bone warrior allies. As they were being carried back I ran back up the road to save them. In quick succession the bone warriors fell to Silverfang. Using Silverfang's power I jumpstart healed two of my allies who had fallen as two other members of the party healed the third. The human with the flaming sword retreated back up the path. We waited for his next charge. When it came, it quickly became clear we could not hold. With a larger number than even in the first attack, he came down upon us. Seeing no chance of victory where before we had failed I called a retreat. Luckily we all escaped this time. Hopefully the next time we return, our power will be augmented with some of the towns leaders as well as Shrub's. Our tired party trudged back to Whiteforks and reported what we had seen. Windsward suggested that to defeat the human we should attempt to damage him multiple times with the same type of damage or simply use ranged magic to slay him. After the disastrous attempt to try to rescue our fellow adventurers, we decided to attempt an easier mission which turned out to be tracking down and destroying the kobolds who had attacked Grammion Hold. I am also told these kobolds killed me after I wounded many of them on a previous attempt to wipe them out. As we approached the mountain we were attacked by bone warriors. Luckily I had anticipated this threat and had prepared myself accordingly before we set off to town. Using Duel I got behind their lines, and with my ranger training was able to cut each down with a single hit.
As we continued to where the kobolds were said to be, we noticed that something appeared to be watching us. As we continued to go forward I swore I saw movement in the underbrush around us. Looking closer I noticed kobolds in small groups of one or two hiding and seeming to try and ambush us. Luckily we noticed them first. One by one the party and I found the kobolds and struck them down. Many times I went into a duel simply so I could clear my mind, become one with Silverfang, and thus strike them down despite their scaly skins. As we continued up the mountain, a few kobolds continued to retreat. Finally it turned into an all out chase that continued straight into the kobold's main base. Once there, we were greeted by an odd sight. Ten or so kobolds were on the ground and seemed to be planning something. Next two them was a suit of armor with glowing eyes that from the Shrine of Clanngden, I recognized as a Death Knight. Dimitri quickly saw the threat as well and Skill Shared me one his most deadly abilities, knockout dispatch. As the majority of the party dealt with the kobolds in the room, Dimitri and I circled the Death Knight, waiting for an opening. Suddenly it materialized. Dimitri had had a show of a swing at the Death Knight. As he turned away from me to face Dimitri, I quickly brought Silverfang down on his head to magically dispatch it.
Knowing the danger the Death Knight posed, we carried the Death Knight away and had our paladin begin to exorcise it. As he exorcised it, we left him a few adventurers to guard against kobold counter attacks directed towards him. The kobold's counter attack came quickly. They were led by a necromancer but I quickly dealt it a mortal blow with a bolt from my qatar mounted crossbow. I slipped in and out of duel cutting down kobolds with Silverfang left and right. Within a minute the battle was over. I quickly jumpstart healed any allies who had fallen and braced for the next wave. We did not have to wait long. They came with a fervor this time, almost a berserker rage. One, armed with a ninjato, challenged me to a duel. I quickly loosed a bolt but somehow this samurai kobold managed to cut it out of the air with his ninjato. I drew Silverfang and slashed at his legs. He managed to block a few strikes, but eventually Silverfang found his gut. Bleeding he stepped back as I pulled Silverfang out. Hate filled his eyes and with nothing left to lose, he defied death and charged me. I held my ground and as he charged, I sidestepped and snared him. I took a step back and watched as the light slowly left his eyes. My triumph filled me with new energy and as I returned to the fray I felt stronger than before. The battle was over almost as soon as it had begun. We returned to town and recounted to Prince Finn and Shanetill that the kobold threat was no more. As the day drew to a close we embarked on one final quest. Apparently some orcish prisoners had escaped and some caravan drivers wanted us to track them down and bring them back. As we traveled up the road looking for them, we were attacked by some harpies However even their flight could not save them from Dimitri's and my missiles. With our throwing training they cut straight through their tough skin. As each fell, we had Grum Terror Ball them in order to prevent any regeneration. Along the road we were also set upon by brittlemen. While annoying and time consuming, to kill they were hardly match for the good armor and steel of our party and were quickly defeated. Many of our party had been wounded, but they were healed and we continued on.
Finally we found the orcs we had searched for. As they attempted to run, I took the lead and quickly slew four of them. One tried to hold me as two others attempted to escape. However a few quick thows of my axe and knifes I felled them. I then cut down fool of an ogre who had tried to protect them. As it turned out, when the battle was over and we questioned them they had apparently been taken from their village by dwarves to presumably be used as slaves. Realizing this, we allowed them to go free and I covered their tracks so no one else could track them. Then we returned to Whiteforks.

Fourteenth of Ninthmoon Road to Grammion Hold from Whiteforks It has been five days since I first journeyed out from Whiteforks to return to Grammion Hold. I was still troubled by what I we had seen there. A portal with a morganti wounded brownie was now the least of our worries. The dark hero and undead had killed half of our party and taken the majority of our weapons. Twice. Twice I had been forced to run. While it had saved the strongest of us loss of life and item I was still ashamed. Those too weak or foolhardy to escape had lost nearly everything. However despite my dual failures that was now a chance to regain some of my fragmented honor. I had met with Shanetill and despite Whiteforks leaders be unable to help us directly she suggested an alternative. Instead of them coming to help she suggested that I enlist a few veteran adventurers to our aid, specifically the followers of the elder goddess who had been captured by some bone warriors as well as the few adventurers who had come to the parties aid in the Battle for Grammion Hold against the kobolds. With their and Shrubs aid I am sure we can prevail against these foes, especially if they can contain the human with the flaming sword as I hunt down the and destroy the specters one by one. As I traveled along thinking about this threat I noticed a dwarf pulling along a cart. It seemed laden with various oddities from hairpins, to to dented helmets, to incredibly unique weapons. Many were coated with rust but a few seemed in rather good repair. "Hail," I called to the dwarf. "Hail," he replied eying me rather suspiciously. "What to do you have here?" "Various oddities. A few weapons some tools and armor. I pick them up from abandoned battlefield or heroes who have no further use. As such I have better prices than anyone else" As I circled the cart I noticed an odd glimmer. Gray steel, mixed with silver and gold. I shifted a crushed shield and a crooked sword out of the way and pulled out the weapon. It was indeed unique. It sported a thin, incredibly bendable blade connected to a large gauntlet and a mini crossbow. As a put my arm in and waved it around I quickly saw its usefulness. While initially unwieldy, it was incredibly quick and unpredictable, while providing greater defense for the user than a normal sword. "What is this?" I asked. "A pata or gauntlet sword. I aquiered it from an old samurai from Desnor who was dying from poison. Even though it had been him against three large spider and a giant he had managed to slay them all. He asked me to take his body to be buried by on of his own faith. He offered this magnificent piece in payment. He explained that while less accurate, it shields the user and can quickly slice through all but the toughest foes " "Fascinating" I said, as I looked upon it.The weapon did indeed have a Desnorian style. A certain exoticness in it make and style "How much would you like for it?" He looked me over. "For this? Twelve gold." "Eight, only a master could wield this weapon without and hurting himself or his allies." The dwarf looked at me reluctantly. "Oh very well" I handed the dwarf his gold and stowed the pata, smiling. I looked forward to using it to destroy my undead foes. Fifteenth of Ninthmoon A Days Walk from Grammion Hold I have been practicing with the pata for a day. I see that what I said earlier is true. Only a true master can really wield it without harming themselves. Twice now I have cut myself as the blade whiped back after a particularly forceful strike However once I begin a duel my mind and the pata become almost one. It is nearly the same with Silverfang and other Desnorian weapons like katanas and jittes that I have used. It also has incredible reach. With it have been able to attack target that were farthing than even Silverfang would allow. It should be especially useful against large, slower foes, such as giants. I truly look forward to using my new found abilities and weapons to the test. For too long the giants of Surtur have terrorized Grammion Hold. But now I have a chance to stop them. Even their chief, who wield the blessing of Surtur's fire, will not be able to stand up against me when my pata cuts his throat and Silverfang carves upon his heart. Too long I have waited for revenge. Thrice they have killed me and my party. The third time they waited till they had slain my party and then simply threw boulders until my arm grew so weary that I could not spell turn them. But this next time will be different. With Silverfang in one hand, my pata in my other they will fall in duel after duel until they are all dead. I put my quill down now as night approaches. Tomorrow I will return to Grammion Hold. Only the gods know will happen next.

Really quick recap of todays events so I out of game dont forget and then I will actually turn it into a chronicle entry over the next two days.
Kobolds took over amen town. A party including adran managed to defeat probally at least a hundred of them.
The party (not adran) decided to go deal with some ogres, orcs and goblins who are hiding in the mountains but the baddies destroyed them
An semi elite group of adventurers (and adran) decided to go to the shrine of knlangden. Fought a bunch of orcs, ogres and goblins along the way. Left approximately half our party to guard the entrance. 10 elite experienced adventurers went in. Defeated the giants. Heard shouting from outside the shrine that indicated the the party had failed to guard the entrance. Elite group went back out and wrecked them. Went back into shrine. Probaly five waves of 20 to 30 koblods. Beat them. Dagdeoth patrol. Hard to beat but did it. Went to golem of shrine. Tried speaking our names and the riddle and giving it mana. Did not work. Cried hail klnagden and gave it mana. Actived it and it looked around to the three doors then said .You may begin. We believe will have to redefeat all the rooms again.
Some mafia activity in town as well as a vampire. Vampire dealt with. Weird door by river opened led to a hallway. Fate of that party is unknown.

Nineteenth of Tenthmoon Grammion Hold
I was simply neck deep in kobolds. We had heard that an army of these pesky little monsters had taken Amen Town but only now could I believe. The just came in, wave after wave. Losing twenty or so at a time. I slipped in and out of duel so often that soon I nearly forgot when I was in one. With the pata in one hand and Silverfang in the other there were soon many kobolds littering the ground before my feet. As I looked around I noticed that a few members of my party were retreating. It seemed that they ran from the appearance of a new kobold in the back. This necromancer was brandishing his death ray with a leering grin.
“Duel” I called challenging the necromancer. Ethereally I walked past many a kobold, until I was behind enemy lines. Once I was within five feet of the kobold I simply waited for his spells to be cast so I could him down with no risk to myself. The necromancer cast a Terror Ball on me but I intercepted it with my blades and it harmless dissipated. He then cast his death ray. It hit my leg but did not manage to pierce my unbreachable armor. The same thing happened with my duels against a nature and life mage and another necromancer. I must have cut down at least thirty kobolds by the end of that battle.
The party returned. Half of the party decided to go out and deal with some orcs, goblins and ogres in the Anvil Peaks who we had defeated the month previously. A second group, compromised of fifteen or so of the parties best including myself, as well as some more green adventurers, decided to stay behind decided to stay behind in order to travel to the shrine of Clangeddin. Without the strength of our most powerful members, myself included, the party folded and barely escaped with their lives. Apparently the party did not even manage to secure a victory against a single wave!
After they returned, the party who wished to go to the Shrine of Clangeddin set off. We ran into a group of orcs goblins and ogres in the hills along the way. They seemed to be from the same group who had destroyed the other party. However they were no match for us.
Upon defeating them we spit the party into two groups. One was the extremely elite group who Shrub, Dimitri and I had hand picked to join us to defeat the shrine. The other was a much less experienced group left at the entrance of the Shrine in order to hold it from attack. These less experienced adventurers were left under the command of two fairly skilled adventures. One Goldo, who was a first rank paladin and ranger as well as a second adventurer who was a rank one barbarian and archer. Both had proved themselves skilled in the earlier engagement with the unnamed hero disarming and hacking ogres and orcs left and right until they were practically more useless than dead.
The party Shrub, Dimitri and I lead into the dungeon was far more formidable. We all, I believe were guild masters or higher. Their was Shrub, Dimitri, myself obviously, as well as Baron Aelfwine Fire Spark who was a guild master flame mage and tier two nature mage. We had Draekynath, a tier two veteran, Grum the guild master necromancer and a first rank life mage. Their was also an incredibly powerful second rank ranger and nature mage as well as another second rank necromancer. Their were a few others as well.
I felt extremely hopeful in our chances as we entered the Shrine. As always we began with the the giants room. Despite the fact that their were six giants this time, two of them being greater giants we still were not overtaxed. While Draekynath and I took the brunt of damage, easily absorbing the worst of the damage through our unreachability as well as his bracing the worst attacks and I spell turning them.
The greater giants were particularly deadly. One was a Death Giant who nearly managed to get a death ray to slay me. Luckily I unknowingly brought my pata just high enough to deflect its deadly magic. The other greater giant constantly kept throwing deadly boulders. Dimitri I believe impaled him, negating him as an immediate threat. Together our party turned to the rest f the giants. Our mages were most adept and destroying these powerful monsters. Shrub and the Baron’s bellowed spells quickly cut throughout the majority of the giants. Finally Draekynath and I fell upon the impaled greater giant and attacked him until he fell beneath our flurry of blows.
As we turned to exit the giant room and began to ready ourselves for the kobolds we heard a commotion from outside. Three adventurers from the weaker party we had sent from ran into the main room. Those idiotic fools had somehow managed to fall to a second attack from the ogres, orcs and goblins. As we waited for them Draekynath and I took positions in the front, ready to bottle neck the attack. The semis arrayed on our flanks with our mages in the rear. We did not have to wait long. With a deafening thunder the monsters were upon us. Draekynath and I slowly advanced pushing them back. Arrows and swords, axes and spears all harmfully pinged off our unbreathable armor. With every stab of Silverfang or whip of my para another enemy fell. As the warriors among us advanced further up the passageway cutting down those foul beast a few of the mages stayed behind so that the shrine would not reset.
As we left the shrine I was blinded for a second by the suns brilliance. In that second they were upon me. A new wave of orcs, ogres and goblins had arrived. I rushed about using Silverfang’s powers to heal my allies. With in ten minutes all our allies were healed and the enemy routed. The secondary party departed for Grammion Hold I believe. The our elite party reentered the shrine.
We went to the kobold room. While tiring it was no harder than fighting the kobolds of Amen town. After five waves of twenty or so, we finally defeated the kobolds all.
We then finally came to the Dagdeoth room. They were composed of incredible assortment of enemies. Ogres and orcs. Dark heroes and bone warriors. Using duel I dispatched many an opponent. Even with my power I fell. We all fell. Luckily we were incredibly ready to heal each other. We had two people with jumpstart heal and three with regeneration touch. During the course of the battle I came upon a dark paladin. He had slipped past our lines and was attempting to wound Grum. I dueled him and quickly brought him to heal. However Grum had further use for him. Using dark necromancer elder sorcery of his own creation Grum corrupted his spirit and turned him against our foes. Slowly, ever so slowly they fell to us. One by one. Finally we defeated them. Triumphantly we returned to the Statue of Clannegdin. Shrub tried to recite the poem but their was no result. We then recited our names. We tried to give it mana. There was no result. Finally we all cried “Hail Clangeddin,” and then paid it mana. The golem turned its head towards the three doors, nodded and said “You may begin.”
A collective groan rose from the party after hearing this. We knew we would have to repeat all the challenges again, despite having spent nearly two hours fighting non-stop.
When I returned to town I learned that the town guard had discovered a vampire in the market and that their had been some mafia activity in town. The party had also opened a mysterious door by the river. When they returned to investigate I believe they were all killed but by what I am not sure. While this day was disappointing hopefully my adventurers in Whiteforks will be more successful.
