Woo, trying this. Let's see how long my chronicling actually lasts this time. At least Esther's easy to write for, because I don't have to care about writing all fancy like or even well since she's pretty young.
Lady Esther Greywash
I suppose I should start with introductions or something. My name's Esther Greywash, and I decided to go adventuring just like my mom did because I thought it sounded interesting. So now I’m part of an adventuring group, even though I’m only 13, cause I decided that I’m old enough to at least be kinda helpful. Also I’m sorry if my writing isn’t very good, I haven’t really practiced it that much so I’m probably not the best at it. So on to the actual stuff I did, I guess.
Adventuring for the first time was fun! We all gathered up in the inn to start off, and the innkeeper told us a story about how the town was built. It wasn’t a very accurate story though, but I know the real one so its okay. He said the whooole town was built by Yohan when he was 8, that he built it by hand, and that he convinced the goblins to help. How he could have both had the help of the goblins and built it all himself I’m not sure though, so I think even the man wasn’t sure about the story. Actually, it was a lot of adventurers who did it, and I think Yohan was older than just eight. Maybe Auntie Caylis (She's not really my aunt, she just played with me a lot when I was little and stuff) could teach him some stuff about how you tell a story. She tells good stories, and they’re usually the same as what mom said happened, but with more drama n’ stuff. Oh, I don’t actually think I’m sposed to talk so much about just the inn and stuff. So I guess I’ll talk about the missions.
I think the first mission everybody went on was something about zombies, but I didn’t go because I didn’t find that one so interesting. Instead I went with the people who were gonna go poke at the village nearby that’s haunted or something. In the party was me, another girl cobben who was my age called Nysa, a hobbit guy whose name I forget, some human guy who called himself Edge Lightspeed, and an elf guy who didn’t talk. It was a lot of walking, but I guess I hafta get used to that if I’m gonna be an adventurer. Anyways, we got there, and there were a lot of villagers around and we talked to them. They said a couple days ago there started being some creepy noises, but they couldn’t think of anything that made them start. Also it was kind of cold there, but the cold seemed to be coming and going. My mom and Auntie Caylis told me that stuff in the ethereal realm can do that, so that’s probably what it was. Also Nysa said she felt something bumping her silver weapon when there wasn’t anything physical there, which also means there’s something ethereal. A couple of people talked to the villagers for a while, and some of us wandered around the area. I didn’t talk to the villagers much, because I’m not really good at that. Adults who don’t know me don’t listen to me a lot of the time cause I’m young, and I don’t wanna make them mad by using my mom as a reason they should listen, so I usually say things by asking the others to ask them for me. Anyways, basically I didn’t talk to the villagers much. Nysa went off to the edge of the village and found something, and I followed her. There were a bunch of bodies there, which looked like they’d been there for a couple days, but it was hard to tell cause everything was snowy and cold. The villagers said they didn’t recognize the people though, so I guess they weren’t from here. We found another group of bodies too after a bit of searching, but this one was a little bit away.
When we went back to the village, we saw a guy who looked like he was cold, and he kept jumping every so often. Nysa gave him her cloak so he wasn’t as cold, but he still kept jumping sometimes. We talked to him, and we figured out that spirits were going towards him and disappearing when we tracked a spirit we felt with silver. After asking him some more questions, he told us that he had found a sword and a skeleton a while ago, and when he picked up the sword the skeleton attacked him until it disarmed him, and then it fell down. We had him take us to the farm, and we looked around there. We found where the skeleton would have been and where the sword fell by the prints in the snow, but the skeleton and sword weren’t actually there. The hobbit guy told me that he thought maybe the sword was stuck in the skeleton and that’s what made it get up when the sword was picked up, but that still didn’t explain why the hauntedness was happening. But maybe that is what happened and the sword was just cursed with something.
Anyways, we decided that we should take the farmer guy back to town and see if he still kept jumping. At first the party wanted to just send him with me and Nysa, but then they remembered that we were both little and that would be a bad idea. So a couple more of us went back toward town. On the way we saw an ogre who said he was running away from a big bully, but we kept going. Then we saw a big thing in the distance, where the ogre earlier was, but we decided not to bother it. As we kept going, the rest of the party caught up to us, probably cause the big thing found them and they ran. Eventually, we stopped for a while and waited to see if the guy still shivered, and he did, so we decided to go to the ogre stronghold to identify him. When we got there, there were a bunch of goblins and orcs and even a troll fighting people, and we tried to help a little. Eventually the ogre stronghold people won, and we went in. We found out that the guy had a curse that made spirits drawn to him, and they buried themselves in him. After that, we headed back to town to tell people about the stuff, since we didn’t think we could find the sword to get the curse removed immediately.
After getting back to town, we got ready to choose more missions. I decided to go on a mission helping fight some Dagdeoth troops. That was mostly just a lot of fighting though, and we won, so there’s not a lot to say. Anyhow, that was our day.
