Yes, both Treeform and Polymorph require a spirit to be present yes (Zack is correct).
Regarding the lycanthrope question I'm totally lost. Why would you ever not have regenerating for normal attacks as a were creature? We're creatures have regenerating for all normal damage (not silver or magic though). They change once a month into their were-form for about 3-7 days around the moon cycle they follow (usually the full moon in junior league). So I don't understand your question.

I'm pretty sure this issue has arisen before but I don't remember what the fix was...
Is there a way in junior league to get a tradecraft that lets you learn languages *without* the written portion? Just the spoken language itself? If there is - how does that work, and how many levels in a language would you need in something to communicate at partial speech, fluency, and somewhere in between?

It's like the Polyglot backstory in adult league. You could call it Translator and it gives you two languages for every one level but spoken only.

Well, if it's an iceball strike, it would have to be through a weapon, so in that case your hand would be a weapon and you would be fine. If it's shock touch, that's a different matter that I'm not sure on.

(Assuming you have attack only Martial Arts or a Magelore-Stafftouch glove or something else that makes this maneuver possible...) If you block the weapon with Iceball Strike (or Shock Touch) then you would take the damage. However, you could be clever and spin your hand around their weapon to Iceball/Shock Touch it on the (back)side of the weapon behind the strike. Either way, the other person would be frozen.

Reflect Melee is a response. You cannot respond to a response that is responding to you. Additionally, reflect melee is not being used on you, it's being used on your attack. This question is similar to asking why a mage who has his burning touch spellturned at him can't spellturn it right back.
