Noman's Journal.

Day 1.
There are many things to document and I fear death has robbed me of my memories. What follows is a review of the day's events: The morning was spent fighting some group. I don't recall their allegiance and in this case, it's unimportant. I had grown impatient and rash after my last sojourn and had not yet readjusted to the environment. It is imperative that I remember to remain hidden from threats until the battle has ended, no scrap of paper or trinket is worth the loss that accompanies such unwise actions. I was slain by, what was to my knowledge, a troll attacking me from behind while I searched a fallen warrior. I was unable to maintain my composure and in my panic, I slashed the troll's throat blindly, not that it stopped him. I'm not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand, I don't feel any remorse or discomfort for having tried to kill an assailant, on the other hand, I acted without thinking and subjected myself to the chaotic whims of combat. It was probably the correct decision in any case. It was largely an ineffectual manoeuvre, but attempting to parry the attack would have ended poorly given my unpreparedness and it's combat capability. The rest of the battle was fairly uneventful and I won't detail it here. I managed to avoid more combat and there was nothing of note to be found on the combatants.
After reconvening in Sundar Moath, the party was introduced to Turok. He is a dangerous individual and I'm sure I wasn't doing myself any favours with my actions the night before, but he was well composed and I avoided drawing his ire. (Not completely, he caught me studying him.) He detailed news I was already aware of, notably the actions of his son Trimar, who had used Sezolath troops on personal errands. We were given the choice between recalling Sezolath forces from Illionass and some other task that I can't recall at the moment. Probably had something to do with combat. We left and after a few unimportant encounters, we met some Sezolath troops. Tensions were high and the conflict escalated to violence a few times. The orcs tendencies towards violence and confrontation did us no favours. The Illian people were angry about the loss of military support and their pleas slowed down the mission. I regretfully acted hastily to accelerate the progress of the mission. Disarming hostile and belligerent troops was a lapse of judgment and a display of weakness that I hope to avoid in the future. Through some discourse, I am unaware of the specifics, several members of the Sezolath military were accused of being vampiric spies. After a vampire, or at least something resembling a vampire escaped, efforts to interrogate the soldiers and search for vampires increased. While it was not the leader, the vampire had still achieved a high position within that battalion and had gone undiscovered for some time. Two more were encountered in a separate corp. It was difficult to make out details as they were obscured by thier cloaks. They escaped into the ethereal plane upon discovery and though we gave chase, our party was unequipped to pursue them.
Later in the day, I traveled along with a few others to investigate some golems in the mountains. At this point, I'd like to mention an encounter with some elementals. I am uncertain when the fire elementals were met, either on the way to Illionass, the golems, or potentially other events I'm forgetting. They had innate sorcery and good incite aggression in others and then hurt them with fire. The golems were armed differently and had different skills. One was a veteran, one was a ranger, and I'm unsure as to the skills of the third. A toiroar whose name I can't recall fought one by paying some mana and defeated it. he was given the opportunity to sacrifice a magic item for a chance at receiving some of it's effects as a permanent blessing in exchange for favour given over to the fire god. I've heard of this and it seems to be a trait connected with the Sezolath clan. I debated challenging one, but decided that I didn't need to chance becoming more entrenched with any outsiders than is necessary and preferred having the magic items as liquid as possible.
Finally, I reach the most important part of the day. Returning to a ruined and destroyed Sundar Moath, I met up with a curious assortment of foreign adventurers. They were quite powerful and experienced. We searched the town for magic items that Gobath had left after fleeing the destruction. Unfortunately, cave trolls had taken over the area and between fighting them and avoiding filaments, I was forced to flee. Grayson was killed, but my temporary companions, the assassin and the thief, evaded harm and retrieved their target. (A pair of intricate sabre-like weapons whose interlocking design somewhat resembles the Blacksmith's own knives.) The final undertaking before setting out was the impromptu extraction of Tim the Enchanter. Although not the recommended course of action, the opportunity was too good to pass up. Allies like the Thief and the Assassin are hard to come by and favours and support are always useful things to garner. Electing to go with a small group, both due to the need to stay covert and the craven nature of Draugr and his less honest companion, we devised a plan to split into two groups. The Assassin and the Thief would set up an ambush to distract them, while Striker and I would dash in from the side. It worked much better than intended with everyone except the Assassin managing to get past the defences of the location with ease. Unfortunately, our final companion has caught at the last second and was forced to confront the guards in single combat. After a harrowing battle that bought us the precious minutes we needed, he was eventually brought down and slain. Meanwhile, the Thief and I managed to find Tim with great ease and in little time. While he was initially reluctant to leave, we eventually convinced him to leave with us and after addressing a few complications that arose when dealing with the famed enchanter, exited the compound with no interference. Striker was killed while leading the Darkspikes away from us. Thus concludes the relevant details of day 1. Hopefully, I will be able to maintain this log in the coming months.

I write here to summarize my travels so far. After fleeing from the ruins of Dreasiton, almost everyone I’ve known having fallen along with the city, I met some intriguing Dsesnorians. Keri, Lara, and Hikari. I’ll have to create further records of analyzing what I know of them at a later date. They were headed to a circus for employment, having no plans, I decided to follow them. Upon further travel, we encountered many heading towards the strange circus, heightening my curiosity. We came across an army of kobolds. They considered themselves law enforcement. Previously, bandits had attacked and shattered all my limbs and robbed me. It was a most unpleasant and distasteful experience. When I arrived at Williamson Robinsong’s Traveling Circus, I began looking for some role so that I could avoid any work not suiting my station. I have settled on attending tot performances to encourage others to view it as well. Perhaps I will need to disguise as other nobility to maintain the ruse. We were sent by Robinsong to steal from a vault, though he did not use that language. I am unsure as to his ethics. The vault was on the docks and guarded. Scion and I pretended to be investors and were let in. We were obtaining the specifications of the security measures of the vault when the rest of the party attacked. We lay there feigning injury so that our cover would not be disrupted. I was attacked by a storm mage who was allied to me, it angers me greatly. I awoke in the custody of the Ladies of the Nightwatch. My interrogation was pure absurdity. I was charged with suspicion of lying to law enforcement. After more time in a cell, a man came to further interrogate me. I told him the truth as I did not break any laws. He said if Scion supported my story he would release me. I was released in the morning. I traveled to the village of Kepton to speak to a money lender. On the way back, I triggered a trap. I was brought back to Amir Ford by a passing farmer. I sold the grain I bought for some gold, then returned to the trap with Tucker to go about harvesting the limb paralyzing toxin on the darts it launched and gain experience with traps.

Today we completed three main tasks, the first being scattering a group of Starless Night soldiers. During this battle, Kira was killed and while her ancestors saved her from death, she is now in a much more precarious position. I’m not sure what the best course of action moving forward to account for this is. Then we split into two groups, one worked on assassinating a dwarf named Undeven or something to that effect and the other on observing and then attempting to steal from a manor. While both were failures, the assassination succeeded in killing the dwarf once then forcing him to use some demonic ritual using morganti. The morganti was shattered and he was killed by the ritual, but the status of his soul is unknown. The first death did immobilize him, but the cause of this is unknown to me. The group I was in failed rather miserably. Poor coordination and communication plagued both our scouting mission and our feeble attempt to acquire anything. The location of the items we wished to steal was not well circulated among our group and we did not utilize our numbers to our advantage.
