Here is a list of updates to rules and mechanics for 2013. Some of them apply across the board, and some of them are approved for junior league only.
Treeform
-Blind Mechanic: It has been ruled that, while in treeform, you have to use the blind mechanic. The awareness that you have of what's going on around you is limited to what awareness you have through your peripheral vision and your hearing etc.
-Polymorph: It has also been ruled that, like polymorph, if you stay in treeform for too long, you start thinking that you're a tree and forgetting that you're a person. If you stay a tree for too long - say, a month - it can have permanent effects on things like your intelligence, the same way that if you had stayed polymorphed as a hawk for too long it would have similar effects.
-Unconscious Trees: Unconscious trees can revert the next morning. If you are unconscious and treeformed, then you are a "sleeping tree" - buds closed, leaves tucked in, however you want to think of it. The sunshine the next morning "wakes you up"; at that point, you are conscious and can revert from treeform without mental damage, so you won't be stuck that way forever.
-Dead Trees: You can die in treeform if your tree dies. Just like with a body, if pieces are cut off a tree, you have to decide which piece of the tree your soul is going to reside in. As long as the piece of the tree that you're in still has living cells, you are still alive; but if it dries out and and all the cells die, or the piece is burned, then you die and have to draw from the deathbag upon being resurrected. Also, if you are dead and treeformed, you can "leave your body" the same way you would leave your non-treeformed body. At that point the tree reverts, and you can go back to town and be summoned.
Invokes
-Invokes are now being added to Junior League for things like swift sleep aura (which would normally have and invoke cost in Adult League) or other Elder Sorceries. You can invoke through a staff, rod, wand, or magelore. Invoking consists of raising your invoking-object above your head and doing motion-y things and *then* casting the spell. This gives the people around you a warning that you're about to do something that they might want to react to, rather than it just coming out of nowhere.
-Warriors and Semis: Invokes are also being added to warrior and semi classes as well. They aren't going to be the same kind of invoke; for example, with a warrior, you can invoke with any *weapon*; for a semi, you can invoke with any *item*.
-Warrior/Semi Skills: Only a handful of warrior/semi moves have invoke. An example that I remember being considered was doing a full wound as a knight; you have to make some kind of pullback motion with the weapon in order to simulate the kind of force you would have to put behind it to make a full wound. Or some kind of motion before turning on chi strike. A full list of what needs an invoke is yet to be determined.
-Saying Invoke: Whether you're invoking as a mage, semi, or warrior, you actually have to say "Invoke" as you're making the invoke motion, and call what you're invoking. So if you're using a fear aura, you would have to say "Invoke: Fear Aura!" as you raise your staff or other such item above your head.
Knockout
-Attack: It was ruled that knockout is no longer a skill; it is a "zero damage attack" using concussive force. That means that, because it's a skill, it can no longer be avoided. It will also go through effects resistance.
-Knockout Skills: Special skills such as "vitals knockout" or "knockout dispatch" do still count as skills and can still be avoided, however, because they are learned skills and not just punching somebody in the head to knock them out.
Monk Classes
-Monk Classes have been revised so that they're more balanced with the other classes (have the same number of skills, simpler/less confusing skills, etc). I can't remember all the edits, so I'm just noting this and people can look at the updated document once it's finished/posted/etc.

Anybody remember anything else?
(Also this puts in perspective just how much time we spent talking about treeform. xD)
