...What if we need to get into or out of the Shadowlands? Are there particular shrines that are or are not off limits?

Shrines with Shadowlands gates are hopefully different. Any other shrines should be avoided... Rather, any attempts to connect spiritually with the Ancestors or other Sorikonia-specific stuff should be avoided at this time because of issues with morganti interference.

I would like to ask everyone to avoid using jade to cure the taint. Please come to me instead. (Unless you have 19 or more infects). Thank you.

So, I was researching what Shugenja are in the real world and discover that the name means “a person of training and testing” or “a person of shugen.” Shugen is a name for the religious practice known as shugendō. Shugendō is a cross between old Shinto and Buddhism that believes in obtaining enlightenment through union with one's kami. In other words, Shugenja were people who believed in enlightenment through one's ancestors and the spirits of the world. Just thought you may find the irony interesting.

Hey guys? It turns out that the season finale this year is in October, not November. Which means that we only have September and November to fix Sorikonia.
Which means that if we want to have any chance at all of keeping Sorikonia from sinking into the either metaphorical or literal ocean, we should come up with a definite game plan and things that we are going to coordinate and get done. Otherwise we'll dither about half-thought-through things on the days of and not get done a quarter of the things we could.
So, things which need to be done!
1) Closing rifts would be good. The more rifts we close, the less a pull it has on the spiritual foundation of Sorikonia. We have to be very careful about this one, though, because if we do it wrong then they'll become permanent and we have to have enough people to close many rifts.
2) We're being attacked on three sides: Grim, Temnor, and Shadowlands. -We know that the Grim has set up shop on the south part of the isle, so going and wiping out vampire presence there would seem like a good thing to do. -There's also the major Grim invasion to the north, which Esterock has helped blunt, but which is still a problem, especially if it's landed. So that point needs to be held. -Temnor is pretty much confirmed vampire problems at this point. I'm not sure how to deal with Temnor, because they're pretty much always out for themselves, which means that we would have to show them a reason why we're not worth picking off. Which is hard even normally, but when you add vampires to the mix, almost impossible. The only thing I can think of is convincing them that there are more dangerous/immediate threat targets elsewhere, but not only is that difficult to do because they've been on this whole campaign to destroy Sorikonia for a long time now, but that would probably also involve directing the wrath of angry Temnorian vampires at one of our allies. Which is just not okay. Alternatively we can just fight them off, but being neutral-y evil-y types, honor and posturing isn't going to help us, because hassling Sorikonia repeatedly is *fun*. -Shadowlands stuff is an internal problem. Closing rifts will help with this one, because they will have fewer points to enter through. We also have to pretty much just go out and trash stuff, though, because that's just how this is going to have to go.
3) Dealing with the Shadowlands themselves. At some point - preferably sooner rather than later - we are going to have to go into the Shadowlands, because that's where Li Tesashi is. It's going to be a really awful, dangerous mission because it's probably going to involve going into the Shadowlands equivalent of Sashi Eten, and we're going to get to fight all kinds of armies of fun oni and stuff. This would be easier if we still have that base in the Shadowlands, which means that we should probably do at least one mission that involves going in there and securing it (and possibly adding to its defenses, if we have people who can do that?).
4) And, rather than doing all these things to prevent things from weakening Sorikonia's spirits, we should probably also be doing things that actively strengthen the spirits as well. Things like going around and fixing broken shrines seems like it would work well in that department, as would trying to ensure that pacifism is still a thing for Sorikonian commoners (because that's where Sorikonia draws spiritual strength from). And if anybody has any other ideas for how to do this one, that would be good.
5) Oh yeah. Exorcising morganti fillaments and morganti wraiths so that the ancestor spirits don't have to sacrifice themselves to do it. That would be a good thing to do.
6) This one is most important, I think. The primary reason that the Martial Masters are in the state they are is because of the Tomb of the Clanless Sensei. The TotCS is a place which has been proven to have a deep connection with all of the clans (as seen last year with people's limbs not working and whatnot). The Martial Masters don't have a lot of energy right now because they are being perpetually drained of said mana and energy. The source of this mana drain is in the Tomb of the Clanless Sensei. For those who didn't go on the night mission in there, there is a skull in there which morganti mana drains you if you stand too close to it for too long. Which means that it's been mana draining the tomb - and thus the clans - for a while.
Guesses say that this skull is a manifestation of the White Bone Demon, which is a very powerful Oni associated with the Shadowlands. We were only able to touch it with jade, much less do any damage to it. So it seems like the most important thing to do, if we only have time for one, is to research the Bone Demon and how to deal with it, then go into the Sensei Tomb again and go deal with it. Which will hopefully give the Martial Masters more energy, stop sapping away at the spirits, and make it easier to deal with everything else.
Thoughts?

On that note, historian level 43 (Gabriel + Kim) at least, possibly up to 160 if the whole party wants to help. What can we find out about the White Bone Demon?

Alrighty then. A few points: 1. Stop worrying about infects. NOW. 2. I am going to say that the TotCS is the most important thing. Personally I cannot help, but I can provide items and such. We need to exorcise the wraiths in there and make it so we can deal with the skull more easily. Temnor will be a continual problem, the best thing I could say to do would be to send really excessively powerful heroes to deal with it *cough* Scarab *cough*. 3. Fixing broken shrines is a great idea, perhaps we close the rifts at the same time? 4. The best advice I have is: Do not waste time going to caves, waiting for the so-called "plot people" to come and help. Identify the real problems and deal with them.

Well, for exorcising the stuff in the TotCS, I can exorcise stuff, but I don't know that there'll be enough time in there to get that done *then* deal with the skull, because last time we went in we appeared back outside after a time, so it's probably timed, and if it's anything like before, we may only have three tries in there. So I would suggest just doing what you did last time, and getting to the skull and dealing with it before wasting precious time exorcising stuff.

We should also have some sort of evacuation plan in order, because if everything starts to go down and the Shadowlands continues to "swallow" Sorikonia we should get as much as the people off as possible. Though our ancestors might be gone, we as the people of Sorikonia need to remember and honor them in their passing. We will be the ones who carry on the way of life that is *Sorikonia*, and so for that we can't just let all the common folk of whom Sorikonia is made fall into the darkness.

For the TotCS, destroying (or at least damaging) the oni skull may not be as challenging as we think since we struck it with jade during the night and it still had some affect, which means something with Amaterasu being a sun goddess. I can add 11 levels to historianing as well. We can have people exorcise the wraiths and deal with the skull at the same time. Also, if Virva would be willing to leave the jade orb in the TotCS we could slow down its mana draining. I would be concerned with the eventual exorcising of the skull since Sorikonia and presumably the TotCS are close enough to the Shadowlands that exorcising any outsiders will send them directly to their realm and cause a rift in the process and I'm in favor of there not being a rift in the TotCS.
If we evacuate Sorikonia then we have to be especially carful with timing, as removing the common people would likely weaken ancestral connection.
One thing we could potentially do is get commoners to assist with shrine repair. It would repair them faster and strengthen their connection to their ancestors.
Overall, the main issues with fixing Sorikonia seem to be manpower and timing. I would say the more we can prioritize, get help and properly distribute people the more success we can have.
Finally, does anyone know if Lion and Heron clan are willing to assist with closing the rifts?

It should be noted that for whatever reason, a person can only close so many rifts (like 2 or 3, I forget how many) before they can no longer close any. So careful resource allocation is necessary for that; we don't want to waste our powerful people on smaller rifts.

Gods, I hope that exorcising the Bone Demon is easier than it sounds. As for it creating a rift - we should specifically hold some people back and not have them close rifts, so that we have some people for sure who can come with us to the Clanless Sensei tomb and immediately fight the rift to get rid of it once we exorcise the Bone Demon. They should also be people who we are very sure can beat their demons, because of all the places to lose to a rift, that's the absolute worst.
Gabriel - Lion and Heron clan have already been helping close rifts. Aurora went and showed them how and we did some of that together, so they're also in on it.
Zack - Yup. A person can close two rifts, it sounds like, and no more.
