A message for those who have no idea what's going on:
The White Bone Demon--- The Baigujing (lit. White Bone Demon or Bleached Bone Demon) was a powerful creature known as a Yaoguai that appeared in the Chinese novel "The Journey to the West". In the novel she attempted to trap and devour the Buddhist monk Xuanzang because of the belief that eating the flesh of an enlightened being (the enlightenment process seemingly granting some sort of demigod like status) would turn her into a god. She attempted to trick Xuanzang three times, appearing to him and his companions as a young women who pleaded for help finding her way home. Sun Wukong (also known as The Monkey King, a protection deity in Chinese Mythology), one of Xuanzang's three disciples, was the only one who could penetrate the Yaoguai's disguise and struck her with his staff, killing the host body. The Baigujing escaped however and returned again in the form of an old women claiming to be searching for her missing daughter, but again Sun Wukong killed the women, but the spirit fled. Eventually Xuanzang and his disciples came across a house with an old man standing outside who said he was waiting for his wife and daughter to return. Once again seeing through the Baigujing's disguise Sun Wukong struck her with his staff, this time killing her before she could escape and revealing her true form as a skeleton spirit. She famously possessed powerful magical abilities, namely the 72 transformations (the ability to change into anything) and telepathy.
Yaoguai: Yaoguai is a general term for demons in Chinese mythology, mainly comprised of malevolent spirits (often those of animals) or fallen celestial beings that have gained magical abilities through the practice of Taoism, although how Taoism actually grants these powers is unexplained. Although not always evil those that are are called guai (lit. Freak) and seek diefication through the consumption of divine or holy flesh, usually that of an enlightened being or celestial. It should also be noted that not all Yaoguai are of demonic origins, an example of that being the Baigujing, who was originally the skeleton of a Taoist monk who died and was reborn through her desire to achieve enlightenment/godhood. They are also commonly depicted as pets to various deities, and all common Yaoguai fall under the command of the various Yaoguai Kings (Mowang), who act as leaders to their lesser brethren.
Yokai: Since Sorikonia is of course Japanese it may make sense to include the Japanese version of Yaoguai, called Yokai (lit. ghost, phantom, malevolent spirit). Their are thousands of different kind of Yokai, but they fall into several main categories. The first, comprised of Yokai called obake (lit. The Things that Change), is quite general and includes all Yokai from other categories that can change their shape. Commonly these are animal Yokai or Oni. Animal Yokai such as foxes (kitsune), racoon-dogs (tanuki), or snakes (hebi), are usually tricksters or helpful, rarely being actively aggressive or malevolent. Oni on their other hand are almost always dangerous, comprised of beings like mountain oni (lit. demon, essentially troll demons) or gaki (lit. hungry ghost, spirits that will devour someones soul in an attempt to return themselves to life). The next type of Yokai are called Tsukumogami (lit. Kami of Tools), which can take the form of essentially any household item that has been kept whole and unbroken for one hundred years, at which point it becomes animate and sentient. Common examples include, although are by no means limited to, Bakezori (lit. Idiot Shoes, pair of possessed shoes that run around the house and chant about their cousins the geta), Kasa-obake (Lit. Umbrella Apparition, an a sentient umbrella that pick people up and flies them to random locations), or kado-omeshi (lit. Corner Clothing, a well-made kimono that makes people walk past their destinations). As you can see they are mostly harmless tricksters, although occasionally some can become dangerous. The final form of Yokai are Ninhenge (lit. human change) Yokai, things that were originally human or believe they are human, usually female. The two most commonly referenced ones were Futakuchi-onna (lit. Two Mouthed Woman, a woman with a second mouth on the back of their head that is fed by their long, snake-like hair) and Nukekubi (lit. Detached head ghost, at night the head would detach and literally scare people to death before drinking their blood).
I apologize profusely for the tangents/unnecessary information, I sort of got carried away.

As for how this is relevant in previous research we found that The White Bone Demon was associated with the Shadowlands, and later encountered a skull that did various nasty things to people nearby that we believe to be the representation of the White Bone Demon. Hence the rant.

Does this mean that we may be able to damage the skull with symbols of the Monkey King as well as Amaterasu?

Out of curiosity, who was it that had the mirror of Amaterasu and where is it? Astari (my character league character from last year - priestess of the Elder Goddess) had it. It disappeared when the other items from the War of Heaven disappeared.

Wait, but isn't the armor of Tsukiyomy still around with Scarab? Also if not the Mirror than are their any other items associated with Amaterasu?

Sorry if this is totally wrong. I didn't actually see the skull. Why don't we just use jade arrows and arcane archery? It is a demon and should take damage from that.

The main issue that I can see arrising is that it's a "Bone Demon" and may therefore be skeletal and immune to arrows.

The jade melted upon coming into contact with the skull. I don't think we have enough jade to be able to just throw it at the damn thing unless we're almost sure it will work. Which is a problem because I don't know what to do instead. My instinct is to come up with a bunch of things for people to historian and get a bunch of historians in a room and see what comes up that we might be able to use.

Out of curiosity do we have proof that the skull is the White Bone Demon or are we just assuming that? Also if it is true you should remember that in mythology she could change into any shape she wanted or even posses other people, which means we have no idea if what were looking at is what were dealing with.

Just making sure that we aren't jumping to conclusions about the skull actually being a representation of the White Bone Demon — do we have enough evidence beyond speculation to say that it is truly the case? We need to make sure that we do not act on information we have not confirmed to be valid. From what I have seen, it has gone from "it's a white skull" to "it's probably the white bone demon" without any research or evidence to support this claim. Just being a skeptic, here.

The other main option (without using magical historian powers) seems to be that the skull is just representing a ridiculously powerful oni as it is skeletal and apparently only harmable by jade. Assuming this is the case, then healing from a blessed priest of Amaterasu may do the trick, but there is also the bonus of fighting it not in the Shadowlands. According to my rudimentary knowledge of Japanese mythology, its much easier to cast oni out of one's house than to defeat it entirely. They could supposedly be held off with L shaped indentations, soy beans and holly. For now, I would say that blessed healing is the most likely solution. The reasoning behind this is not only what the Shadowlands journal said, but also that if the jade "melted" away into the skull then it is doing something similar to when it is used to heal ourselves.
