The Threat To Enedostar

Basically last event, a whole bunch of crud went down. Apparently for the past, oh, *year* or so there's been a mission on the board: Orcs and Ogeres gathering. And we did nothing. Then it was that some Death Cyclops joined them, and we still did nothing. Then it was that there were odd rituals going on, and yet we still did nothing. And so now we are under attack from a huge army that we were barely able to defend against.
Basically, a certain sect of the Paladin's of Horus, a small group of adventurers (12 or so), and whatever military Enedostar has defended the city. We led amazingly successful assassinations of Death Cyclops and distributed cursed items, but the front lines were going down South fast. Clara's Wyrm lady came and healed all of our troops, which put us back into more of a neutral standpoint. However, she was captured and was necrosavanted/polymorphed into a horse tail, and a strange being came to talk with us.
He looked like a Dark Troll (?), but he was obviously not ordinary. He mentioned Six "beings of the night", of which he was one, and essentially implied that the army was just their puppets. He also mentioned a shaft under Enedostar that leads deep under Mt. Vernod, where supposedly a Balrog is imprisoned; he stated that their goal was to gain access to that shaft. He gave us the choice of the city for Clara and, since we were probably going to lose the city anyways, the City officials decided to give them the city but take three weeks to do so. They agreed, and fighting was called off and both sides retreated and entrenched themselves.
We're getting allies now from where we can and sabotaging their plans, but does anyone have any ideas?
