Gideon the Iron Dragon, Jetta the hound archon, and Quaha Daughter of the Sun, began a hunt for the culprits responsible for the attacks on them. These Shades were thought to be sent by one of two suspects: Wraithlord or Aakeer. They quickly determined that Aakeer was incapable of controlling these beings, and that it must have been Wraithlord, a strange being residing in the Eternal Forest. Suspected of being an escalated haunt of an ancient Elven king, they knew they would be unable to act against him directly without incurring major losses. They decided instead to only continue hunting the Shades.
With the components that the adventurers had gathered for them, their chakras were protected from the Shade’s shadow-steel blades. After several close call and a few near successes, the Shades began changing their tactics, opting instead for morganti weapons.
Carmine Delroy, former leader of the Ahrimari Council, claimed that he had caught one of the Shades, using a trap that he had concocted using warded holy light and ancient runic magic. For this he was praised and quickly thrown into prison. He is still awaiting trail, as no one dare represent or prosecute him in court. He receives many visits from current council members seeking advice on a great many things.
The three hunters managed to interrogate the captured Shade, which was no easy task. They discovered not only that Wraithlord was indeed behind the attacks, but also the true names of the other Shades. With this knowledge they began preforming undead hunter rituals to summon them. Although easier, this was no less dangerous. Gideon ended up losing quite a few scales, but this was nothing compared to the lose Quaha endured. Wolfsbane, her body guard, perished while protecting her from the final Shade. Quaha’s eyes briefly turned gold, before emitting a brilliant light which utterly destroyed the Shade. Since then she had become very reclusive, even closing herself off from her own people.
On the river east of Hillsdale, a new city began construction. It came be known as New Crestfall. The city consisted of four major districts separated by canals, with one smaller district in the center. Each of these districts were then further broken up into smaller boroughs. The architecture of each resembles that of a major city in Crestfall. It was a beautiful, but poorly functional city plan, which resembled the archipelago Crestfall.
After construction, it lay barren, and was beginning to look like a huge waste of time and money. This was before the exodus from Porta Vista. Many native Crestfallens showed up, quickly taking up residence in a place that finally felt like the homes they had left behind. This left Porta Vista a ghost town. Many businesses shut down and very few people remained. On the upside, those who stayed were rewarded with the eradication of the plague district and a dramatic drop in crime.
A smith from a distant land began creating magical rings for all the leaders across Jitha. These were each individually crafted, intended as heirlooms to be passed down from leader to leader, and each unique to that leaders culture. Nobody knows what this smith’s intentions are, but they seem harmless.
Several of the adventurers managed to travel to the remaining tombs, one dwarven, one elven, and one ogreish. Unlike the other tombs, these contained only a puzzle or two, and very few traps, with no major opposition at all. One large ruby snake golem was encounter, which seemed more interested in following the adventurers rather than killing them or acquiring the crystal pieces for itself. However, the crafty khai-shang dispatched it before it could learn anything of value.
With all the pieces now gathered, they had to make a decision: open the temple and retrieve the Naga Venom, or resurrect the Water Naga. Realizing that they could simply ignore the idea of a preconceived power limiting them to an either or decision, they opted to simply do both. They first unlocked the temple door, and before entering, resurrected the Water Naga. The resurrection of this guardian Naga pacified the others. The then entered the temple, relieved to find the Elder Naga hibernating. They managed to milk enough venom to destroy more Garuda than ever conceivably necessary.
With this venom, Vandrad led a small hit squad into Crestfall, consisting of a cobben paladin and his fabulous wife. They managed to destroy all of the Garuda, but Vandrad lost her life in the battle. This was to be expected, as she had no protection from the beasts, while her companions both had various divine protections which happened to be relevant in the battle. A few people decided to return to Crestfall, but most decided to stay in Jitha where the land had not been turned into a scorched volcanic wasteland.
Everything was calm for quite a few years. Some people trickled back to Crestfall, and yet another new settlement sprung up in Jitha. This town used the abandoned mansion as a town hall. It was very defensible, with strange undead plants as guardians. This town began to consume various villages around it. It was led by former adventurer Aakeer and his strange allies, thought to be from other realms. The only thing that truly alarmed anyone was its close proximity to Ahrimari and the increasing number of undead that it controlled. Aakeer told authorities, “The undead are under control of non-evil beings, and as they are from a different realm they act and function differently than those you are used to seeing. There is nothing to worry about.” People worried. When a dark storm could began to form over the mansion, with some claiming to see a dark dragon within it, people worried more.
A sacred war took place within the Eternal Woods. The Fae were battling some force of nature, with several attempts being made on Fae royalty. A few adventurers took interest in the attacks, and several followers of Thor received visions of a horned magician releasing a hunting dog to chase down some wounded foxes. It was thought that there should have been two knights, one clad in white and the other in black, but they were nowhere to be seen.
These followers of Thor called upon The Warriors Three, per request of a strange vision thought to be of Sif. Twelve men sacrificed themselves to summon avatars of Fandral, Volstagg, and Hogun. These avatars travelled the continent, eating drinking, and loving, until the hunter now known as The Headsman of the Unamens surfaced. They were unable to defeat the Headsman completely, but were able to seal it away. This fulfilled their contract, and The Warriors Three vanished, leaving behind a door made of frost-covered blooming flowers and snowy green leaves. A door of both Summer and Winter.
A cat travelled to the door and examined it for days, until a tall Fae woman uncharacteristically forced the door open. A wave of verdant energy flowed out of the door, an event many of the Fae were waiting for. From the door walked a young woman in a vibrant green silken dress adorned with flowers, leaves, and golden fruit. She walked hand in hand with another young woman in a dress sewn together out of starlight and snowflakes. After they walked out, they bowed to the Fae women and to the cat, and then disappeared.
Behind them flowed a plethora of Fae, some never seen before, and disappeared shortly after. Only the last ones to emerge remained. They called themselves the Mourin. Created by Titania and Mab to be a gift to the mortals, a Fae that shares blood of Summer, Winter, and that of the mortal. They are naturally gifted with magic and knowledge of many things.
