Here I will be reposting various historical things I find by scouring the old forum that may or may not still be relevant.
History Lectures (January 2011)
Vampire Information (July 2011)
Some people have been doing some research on Vampires and it would be available in the Libraries so rather than keep answering the same questions, I will post this piece here from another forum so other players can learn from it.
The questions was "How much of our world lore about Vampires applies to Roekron Vampires? Does garlic work, what about reflections, shadows, and inviting them into your house etc. Does any of that apply in Roekron?"
ANSWER: Good questions, and the answers lie in the nature of Vampire in FanWar. Vampires are vengeful spirits powered by their rejection and hatred of what they previously held dear. Garlic does not deal with that in any way, but it is a powerful antibiotic, so it's use to keep things that feed on blood from infecting "read- Bite Infect" would be useful, as would other herbs, such as Dreamgrass, etc. Regarding the mirror, this is really more metaphorical. It is the reflection of the vampire that they fear- the part of themselves that they have rejected- thus a mirror forces them to look inward, introspection, and speaks to the knowledge that they do not want to face themselves. This is why they are said to have no reflection, they are out of balance, they have no "shadow" no "reflection" as they have become their own shadow, or shade, rejecting their light. Regarding being invited in, this has to do with places that are sanctified. A temple or a shrine is a holy place, protected by divine power. Many houses are also protected in a similar manner. But to invite the person in disarms this protection, the same way that opening a door in a circle of protection allows people to enter, even your enemies. Thus, while it is not impossible for Vampires to enter a house uninvited, if they do so, they are battling against the divine fores that protect your house, and as they are the rejection of that divine force, this allows the divine force a great deal of power. So, while none of the above questions (garlic, reflection, invitation) are directly in game effects, they are all capable of dealing with vampires depending on the vampire. Remember that vampires are bothered by symbols of that which they rejected. If you met a Jewish vampire, you would need a star-of-david, not a cross, to bother it. The garlic, reflection, and entering the house uninvited also have to do with things that were held as holy by various groups (garlic being a symbol of life and healing, reflection symbolizing the soul, and invited in having to do with law of hospitality dating back to ancient cultures). Thus, when looking for fanwar correlated effects, you need to look for Roekron or Teriock cultural pieces that are held as sacred and then if that vampire also use to hold that thing as sacred it will be an issue for them. Regarding wooden stakes, they are sometimes used in the Exorcism ritual of a Vampire. The stake won't really work most likely, but if you had one and tried it as an impromptu Exorcism ritual you might have a 1% of it working, which is better then nothing. This has to do with the belief that vampires are returning from the dead and thus pinning them into their grave will keep them from rising again. Thus it will only work while they are wounded/respawning, and even then it works on the basis of belief, not on in game rules and thus is subject to each vampires belief system.
The Original Library Notice (July 2010)
Roekron has recently opened new libraries, sponsored by Estorock Keep and made possible by the long and dedicated work of a renowned tinker know as Tesla. The libraries allow the common people to gain low level Historian if they have at least one person with reading and writing with them (and many people have been hired to staff these libraries to make this possible. Also, anyone who is a historian or has reading and writing already will be able to research things thing easily through these libraries. I have created a post in the under Resources, under Downloads. There is a link to a Download that connects you to HistoricalAccounts which are all the mission papers I have posted going back about two years (this is about 50 years of so game time). Consider this information game knowledge and you can look up anything you want from there as long as you are in a major city and have a day or so to spend doing it. Enjoy!

More stuff you think goes here? You post it. Most of the other historical information I came up with was composed of chronicles, which are the writer's responsibility to move.
