My questions are: What is the difference between X level tier in a class? I know that at level 6 you become 1st tier in a class. I think. If thi you become 2nd tier, and what are levels in a class for?(I hope that made sense ) Also, how do you get a second class?
The confusion you are having is due to the distinction between Junior League and Adult League. There are two types of Tier in the game, level Tier and Magic Item Tier, and they are related. In Junior League we use the term Tier to indicate sets of 5 levels. Thus for the first 5 levels of the game, you are a journeymen and have no abilities. Once you hit level 6 you are First Tier in a Class, and have the first Tier of that classes skills. After 5 more levels in that class you can either become second Tier for the next 5 levels, or start another class and be 1st Tier in each. Thus one could either have Flame Ray and Fireball, as well as Elder Sorcery of Fire (that's a second Tier flame mage) or one could opt to multiclass and have Flame Ray, Fireball, Light Ray, and Medicine Ball (thats a First Tier Flame Mage, First Tier Life Mage). In adult league it is more complicated. You have a lot more multiclassing options which I can't go into right now but it explains fairly well in the adult league rule book. Magic Item Tier is a little different, and refers to how many levels you have to have to use a certain magic item. A Tier 1 magic item can be used by anyone 1-5th lvl. A Tier 2 magic item must be used by someone in a class, and a Tier 3 magic item requires you to be 11th level. etc. These Tier stack, so that if you are level 11 you can use numerous tier 3 items, but you can use three tier 1 items.
Ok. Confusion about the gaining of skills and class abilities in Adult League: Basically, how does it work? I know that you have to pay a certain amount of gold and experience to acquire a class skill, but how is that determined? Both by the level of that skill? And then what about the other skills - like alchemy, diplomat, etc? Does gaining levels in those skills work the same way, or is there a different system for that?
Class skills start at 6 exp and 6 gold, because you need to prove yourself towards a certain guild of your choosing by becoming a 6th level journeyman. After the first skill a 2nd class skill will be 7 exp and 7 gold, a 3rd class skill will be 8 exp and 8 gold, and so on. As for the trade-craft skills, each of them cost 2 exp and 2 gold; except for Knockout, first aid and read magic; these cost 1 exp and 1 gold for each.
Classes: 6-7-8-9...
Tradecrafts: 2-2-2-2...
When you're leveling up and factoring in the extra mana and/or HP (depending on your class), how often does that apply? Is it every level, every tier....?
When you hit the first level in your first class, you get a predetermined amount of extra HP/mana (2 HP if martial, 1 HP and 1 mana if semi-martial, 2 mana if mage). Every 3 levels after that (so 8, 11, 14...), you get 1 point of your choice in either HP or mana. This looks at your total level, so even if you multiclass, they will occur at the same points.
Okay. This is a Junior League question, so... >.> Generally you only have one trade craft, and that levels up as you do. Easy enough. But what happens when you have multiple trade crafts? Do all of them level up with you, or do you put a level into one of them every set, or... how does it work?
i would say if the backstory gave you a specific amout of lvl's then you would just keep those and only lvl up the one that you picked. if the backstory said you were also a ____, i would say that you are just half of your lvl in each. Know however that this is only my oppinion and you may get a different answer from chris, you also may get your prefferance in this situation.
In Jr league, the tradecraft "Teacher". Can you actually use it to give other players tradecrafts/ abilities/skills/what have you? If so, what can you teach? If not, how is it used/what does it do?
would say that it does the analogue of the Adult League version of the skill, in that it allows people to level up without being in town (if your level in teacher is higher than the level of the skill). So it would work on class levels if someone hits a new tier, or trade/craft levels anytime. Unfortunately this doesn't come up very often in Jr league.
t also keeps the @ high for your town. Even if the @ drops to 10 or so, people can still train and such if your higher lvl then them in their class and a player has the skill they need to learn. Thus the@ would stay your lvl for training of skills players already have but people have to go through you for the training- a lot like when Three Beards was removed form the council.
1) If someone who is using a two handed weapon (thus with both hands) is disarmed on one arm, do they have to drop the entire weapon or just the arm that was hit? (i.e. If I was holding a longsword in two hands and then got disarmed on one, what would happen?)
2) Do you have the say "charm" whenever you animate an undead for it to be loyal to you?
3) Could you spell turn a spell such as unforge that actually targets the item and not you?
4) How can you tell (in Junior League) when an elder sorcery spell is warded or not? Do they have to call that so that the defender can make their responses accordingly, or is it left as a surprise?
(we rejected the charm Part of animate dead as makin the game more complex), yes asuming obviosly that you had spellturning for the item that the spell hits( if the unforge was done as a strike then a spell turning would instead unforge the weapon the person struck with), if it is warded you have to call warded. Hope that helps.
Does a creature with regeneration regenerate/awaken from knockout? Or not, since knockout isn't technically damage?
Regeneration will wake something up as any other healing would.
How does mana drain work ON undead?
Yes. Mana Drain works on undead just as well as anything else; unless there is something specific (like with Blue Wraiths), then it should work the same way.
Mana drain works the same ON blue wraiths. The difference is when it is a blue wraith mana draining something.
How does carrying work if the person dose not want to be carried?
then u cant carry them but i think u can if u have say size 3 carry a size one thing.
