Isanna SilverwindToday it snowed a lot. We adventured anyway. The elves in the Lagmenth Forest were doing a ritual called Uialina. We mistranslated it to Killing of Twilight or Death of Twilight. It sounded kind of scary and very important. We went there. It was a good group. They weren't loud like a lot of the party. Dumali and Stariln and Talia and Alais came and so did more people. We walked to the forest and Siguld tracked to a place they said to go. We got there and then we walked for a while, but then he said that we might be lost and needed to go back and get our bearings again, so then we turned around and went back. We got back to the first place. It was a good spot. The trees were nice. Except while Siguld was figuring out where to go, we got attacked. A lot of foresty things with brown and green skin attacked us. Lots of them hurt our party members and it didn't hurt like normal because it was fast and I didn't really process it entirely. Lots of people were just bleeding suddenly. Like how sometimes Eryss will just drop onto things and eat them because he's not very fast but gravity is really fast and he can use it. And then things are just bleeding on the ground before they can realize they are. Like that only I wasn't the one bleeding. The things moved back into the trees. I shut my eyes and listened a bit, because that way I didn't need to see them. It's like back at home maybe there's a snake or a mouse or Cat in the room and they're small and hard to see. But then you listen instead and you can kind of hear their sounds and you know to look. Also in Tragedor. In Tragedor lots of things want to eat you but instead you can listen and run away. If you don't listen sometimes they kill you though, and dying doesn't seem very good. Anyway, I listened and they were everywhere except behind us. Then I stopped and helped heal people so they wouldn't hurt anymore. Siguld killed one and burned it and then the others ran away. I think I would run away if someone killed one of my friends too. I think I'd be scared. I already am scared a little when we fight things. I don't like hurting and I don't want to die. We walked until we found a circle of protection around a stone place. There was a nice lady who didn't dress the way most of the dwarves dress, and a man I think was her husband. Her name was Ruby Crowmark Unwizaste. It was a long name. I don't know which part of it is polite to call her. It's lots easier with Lady Sentris. Also Unwizaste sounds like it's about Mt Wizaste which is where Astengrad is. I wonder if she's an Astengrad mage. It sounds like a title. Like Ruby Crowmark of Mt Wizaste or something. But I don't know for sure and she was a nice lady so I don't want to do it wrong. She gave us some bread and sent us with some of her trackers. They tracked into the forest. A while in they stopped because there were a lot of spiderwebs and they were worried about giant spiders. Some hobbits searched around. They found a piece of cloth. They gave it to me because I'm a tailor and know a little about that kind of thing. It was made of plant fibers and was pretty elvish cloth. I kept it. One day I'm going to make my own cloth and I'll know I'm good at it because it will be made better than the piece of cloth they found. We kept going and the earth sloped down and the trees got really tall and the tops of the trees stayed in the same place even though it was a deep valley. It doesn't snow or wind a lot under trees, but it started getting kind of warm. It was very green and brown. I like it. It's different than Tragedor, but it feels more like it than anything right around Axiems. Since nowhere really feels like home, I guess feeling a little like Tragedor is good enough. We found a big stump. It was bigger than my family's house. Or Enyari's house. Huge. And it had a kind of tide feeling. Like at the beach when the tide's going out and if you stand in the sand there are waves that push you toward shore when they come in but they pull you back out a little more than they push you in. If you stand in them long enough you go out to sea. Then the tide comes in and you drown. Raspberry says he saw it happen once. He says the person never came back. I don't believe him. Raspberry makes up a lot of things. The stump had a bunch of runes in it and offerings. Also there were holes in its spirit that were the size of drinking cups. I know because Stariln touched me and closed his eyes and I could see spirits. He can do that. We talked and decided the tree used to be a mana well, but then someone cut it down. I don't understand why. They said to make staffs, but people can make staffs out of any wood. Logging dwarves did stupid things. Then we found the elf city. It was a city in the trees with silk nets between them. It was pretty. I like it. Also it feels more like where I should be. It's quiet and small and nobody yells at anyone and there are trees. Everything is trees. I think I'm going to live here mostly if they'll let me. There were some stairs in a tree and met the people preparing for the ritual. They said it was the Singing of the Twilight. I felt very silly. I need to learn translating better. They said we could sing at sunset and twilight, and it was kind of an offering. We decided to do that. While some of us worked on our songs, a lot of the group went to fight Dagdeoth in the forest. I wanted to sing. I sing a lot, and I know lots of songs. But mostly I do it to myself. Sometimes to Eryss or the forest. Not people. People are hard. They have expectations and they need you to be good and I don't know if I am and even if I was I don't know how to make them happy. I didn't want to let them down. And there are lots of songs I know, but they're all common adventurer songs. And none of them fit. I looked through a book for songs but they didn't fit right. Then Alais came and asked what I was looking for and I told her. She pulled out a paper with lyrics to a song called Mummer's Dance and it was perfect. So she taught me it and I was just starting to get it all. Except that sunset comes earlier in forests. I hadn't memorized all the words quite but the ritual was starting and I had to be quiet and stop practicing. Then I went in front of people and I tried but all the words went away and it was a lot of people. And I did it bad and had to get the paper with the words on it. It was bad. And people said I did good after but I don't think I was. I should have remembered the words. I don't know why I can remember when there's no one but when people are looking at me I can't. I hate it. Avalous read a poem that was good though. About luck. And a woman with beads in her hair sang. And lots of people I don't know too. Mostly about the forest and flowers and seasons. There was an old elf with dark hair and a spear with lots of beads hanging from it who was there. People seemed confused about if he or Lord Kerni were in charge or more important. At the end, Lord Kerni said his name, La Gine, he walked in and sang a song. It was long and sad about being alone. When he was done all the leaves turned silver and then gold and then he walked away. (Ray) and Alais and I went after him and he seemed like he was very sad and didn't like dwarves. I learned later that he was one of the original Lagmenth elves. Before it was a protectorate. Maybe I'm supposed to be in awe. That's what most people are. But mostly I just want to make him not be lonely anymore. ... I'm a Nature Mage now. I talked to Lord Kerni. He asked how much I knew about Nature Mages. I said a lot. All my family is guildmasters in it except Xey. And Anonymous and Emryn are too. He said it would be easy then. He asked me if I was willing to be bound to the forest and it's inhabitants. I said yes and I didn't want it or the things in it to get hurt anyway. He said I was bound to the forest. I accepted it. Then he taught me. He asked me if I wanted to learn Oracle. I said yes. He said it was dangerous. I said I knew. He said okay and if there ever came a time when it was worth the risk at least I would have it. Then I read about it a lot. Oracle is harder than Treeform or Empathic Ray because I can't practice it. Empathic Ray and Familiar are both pretty easy. Familiar just made me an' Eryss stronger. I'm glad I'm with the elves now. That's where I want to be. I'm just a little worried. Everyone has to swear allegiance to somebody to get training. It's mostly going to be different people. But I don't need Oracle to see that bad things are ahead, and all the split allegiances are scary. They're scary because they make cracks between people. And I think-- I think it's going to be really important that we trust each other and stay together. But all the different allegiances are making it so that when things get hard, we won't be able to depend on each other. And I'm scared of what will happen if we can't. Isanna Silverwind (Disclaimer: NOT A REAL CHRONICLE. Scroll down for the real chronicle. But reading this first will probably not be a bad thing.)
I watch things. I guess that's my thing. It's the one skill I have that makes me okay as an adventurer. I watch and listen to and read a lot of things. I'm also here to teach. I'm not good at teaching, Talia is good at teaching. But I think I want to be a History Keeper more than a Hero, even if I was taught by people who could help me become a Hero without being a History Keeper first.
One of the things I learned is how to see patterns. Maybe that's not very special, I was always good at it, but I learned how to pick out the ones that might be important. I think it's important that people know about the patterns. If they don't it's harder to look out for themselves. They make decisions that are bad or scary because they don't know to be scared. So I think I want to talk about patterns that I see so people can know to look.
Guilds. All the guilds have strings attached. Even Paladin and Amazon even though they don't seem like it. Thief sounds like it has the most strings of all, at least if you get training in Axiems. Somebody told me he could be killed morganti for saying the wrong things or disobeying orders. But everyone has strings. I have to protect the forest. If evil things originate there, I have to protect them too. Rangers and amazons have loyalty or owe favors to the Snowdrifts respectively. I don't know all the other strings, but no matter what you are you owe loyalty to your teacher. It worries me that the party owes loyalty to all different people. It makes me scared. One day those people will stop agreeing on what's right and wrong and the party will have to take sides. When it comes down to it, I don't think we can survive if we break like the guilds do.
A kind of sub-thing for guilds is thieves. A lot of the thieves in our party aren't good people. If they are, they aren't acting like it. The party isn't stupid. It notices and it doesn't like it very much. But the thieves seem to have the worst strings of all, and they more than anyone need the party's loyalty. If the guilds break, the party might be all that stands between them and morganti execution, and otherwise they might need the party's help to do things they can't with all the strings they're going to be tied up in. It sounds like thieves should be terrified of having the party dislike them, but somehow they don't seem to be and it's scary because I don't want them to get hurt.
History. Axiems has a history of flip-flopping a lot. Adventurers have a history of being called into places on the brink of major change. There are adventurers in Axiems. The conclusion isn't too hard to find.
Religion. Religions kind of seem like a big deal. Ogres with their god are one of the biggest non-Dagdeoth threats. Abbathor is another big threat. Dagdeoth is the biggest threat and it's a country based around a religion. There's big important shrines to lots of dwarven deities. Way back when there were adventurers in Krodigros there was a lot of chronicles and talk about some kind of Secret Keeper and also a lot of mention of the god of Secrets Under Mountains. I think they might be the same person, and I think they might still have influence. Lots of gods. I'm not sure what the implication is, but it seems important.
Spirits. I talked with Alais. She went to the ritual with Lord Boro and Lord Throllis and his daughters. She told me about it. She promised to chronicle, so you can read about it from her. But there have been major rituals as part of both Dwarven and Elven cultures now. Both had some level of spirit presence. It's not an observation, I guess. But I have an intuition that tells me it's something like ancestors of a sort. And maybe they're going to be important. I could just be reading a lot into yearly rituals though.
There are probably more. I was just mostly thinking about those today. I'll write about more when I see them. I kind of want to write about predictions, but I'm supposed to be recording actual events. Recording future events that haven't happened yet isn't very useful. I'm going to do that now.
Isanna Silverwind (This one is a chronicle)
I liked today. Not the dying part, the other part. I don't like dying. I don't like it when other people make things die either. The ogres were making more things die than the party was though, so I understood why they wanted to kill them even if I didn't really like it. But instead a lot of us ended up being dead. I think we needed more people.
The part of today that I liked was the dungeon. There was a big dungeon people wanted to go to. All I'd heard about it was that it had Abbathor and currency inflation in it. I didn't want to go see Abbathor and currency inflation. Especially not with morally ambiguous thieves. Some of the other people said that there were real shrines to other gods there, not just ones that were secretly Abbathor. (Logan) said so, and he seemed like he wasn't lying, so I went. Dungeons are puzzles and looking and making connections. At least most of the stories I've heard about them. That kind of stuff is really interesting.
We walked for a while. We were kind of near the base of the mountains, but then orcs or urukai attacked us. I don't remember which. I ran past them and jumped over a stream and hid behind some big rocks. In about a minute Avalous showed up and I came out of hiding. He said the orcs or urukai were winning and (Max) and some of the other thieves were running off for help. Some other people showed up. (Logan) and (Niall) and people. They said all the party was injured except the ones who went for reinforcements. We had to decide what to do.
We talked about going on our own a little, but (Logan) said too small a party wouldn't work. There were too many mana costs. Avalous said he could help us make an ambush and (Niall) said he could set up a watch so we decided to sneak closer, near the stream. Then (Niall) set up a watch while Avalous found all sorts of stuff to cover up that we were there and we hid and watched. It felt very sneaky.
The party came back. They were much bigger. I have been getting feelings of worry from Eryss for a while, which is bad, because Eryss is almost never worried. The feelings weren't there anymore though, and he felt much closer. I looked and I saw Dumali was in the group. Eryss was hanging onto her the way he does with me. I think he likes Dumali. It's probably because I like Dumali so he doesn't think she's threatening to me like a lot of other people. I don't know for sure though. Maybe I'll ask him.
We came out of our hiding place and joined the party and they won and it felt kind of icky except that I had Eryss back and the party was okay and Dumali and Stariln were there now and that was really good. I treeformed lots of things. Eryss said they looked tasty. He eats treeformed things. They're mostly the type of prey he can catch. He's really good at catching them too.
We climbed up the mountains. It got colder and snowier and rockier until we got to the cave. Then it was a lot warmer. It's a wind chill thing. We went down and then there were four doors. One had an anvil, one a key, and one a hammer, I think. The other was secret. That was Abbathor's door. (Logan) and (Jeremy) told us about what happened behind all the doors last time they were there. I asked a lot about the one with the key because that was the door to the god of Secrets Under Mountains. They listened to me a lot when I asked questions and said things. I'm not sure why, but it was nice. I told them that back when there were adventurers in Krodigros there was a lot of chronicles and talk about some kind of Secret Keeper who might have also been the god of Secrets Under Mountains. He had lots of influence and there were people he took. There was also someone who asked other people to rescue the people because he couldn't. It was a rule of innocence thing, I assume. I don't know if they ever rescued the people.
We talked about all three doors and decided to go into Moradin's door. It seemed like it would be the most important, since Moradin was the Creator of the dwarves in their pantheon. We went in and there were seven circles on the floor. They were big. (Logan) said fifteen people had to put a mana each into the circle and then the center, but only six were able to. The first five made sections of the circles show up with numbers in them. The last made dwarven words show up. Dumali could read it really well. She said it told us that each circle needed to add to twenty-one and something about a forge. I don't remember.
A lot of the party went to fight in the Klangdon shrine part of the dungeon. Seven of us, Lenore, Dumali, Stariln, a girl and a boy whose names I don't know, and Eryss and I all stayed. We worked on the puzzle. Lenore was really good at ruling out lots of things. She said it was similar to codes. I didn't think so. I think we think about things differently. She ruled lots of stuff out. Then we looked at what did work. There were only a couple of possible solutions left, so we tried one. It worked. We went to call back the rest of the party, but we couldn't because there was a Circle of Protection. We waited and drew in numbers where they went in chalk. Eventually the Circle of Protection came down. There were a lot of haunts, or maybe just spirits. We didn't go in. We thought we would have to fight if we did. The spirits went away.
Eventually our party came back. The light was dying outside, and we had to choose whether to look at the remainder of the Klangden stuff or the Moradin stuff. If we tried to do both we would have to travel in the dark. I don't think any of us is a good enough tracker for traveling in the dark. We decided Moradin again because we thought his shrine was going to be more important.
We went back in and some of the party checked our math. Then (Logan) pressed down the segments of the arrangement in numerical order. It all glowed and came away and there was a staircase. We went down it. It wasn't as long as I expected.
We came to a big room. Around the edges of the room, there were really pretty carvings of people. Only in front of them there were spirits of the same people carved in the wall. It looked funny, like they were statues, but not quite. It had a dome of a Circle of Protection in the middle. It was glowing white hot and we couldn't see what was inside properly because it was so bright, but it looked like an anvil. I looked over at (Logan) and saw that he had a big hammer. It looked like the kind used for smithing. I grabbed his arm and pulled him over to the anvil. He looked kind of confused. I raised my hands and brought them down like I was hitting the anvil with a hammer. Only the hammer was invisible. He seemed to understand what I meant. He lifted his own hammer and brought it down really hard at the anvil and it went.
The Circle of Protection dissipated. Inside there was the anvil. I was excited. I think he was too. I think a lot of them were. I told him to make something. It seemed like that was what one was supposed to do. He had metal and gems in his pack, so he started making something really small. There were two blacksmiths in the party. They helped him. The thing he was making looked like a medallion. It was neat.
One of the blacksmiths said the forge wanted a mastercrafted weapon. Stariln did the thing he can do where he can give someone else spirit guide and let me look at the ethereal realm. There were lots of spirits on the anvil. They went deep. I'm not sure how to say it. Deep is the best word. I told them it was for enchanting. (Logan) asked who had a mastercrafted weapon and (Rory) had a pretty katana with gold and silver. I had the silver stiletto that Enyari gave me when I left Pinnacle, so I offered it too. A couple of other people had mastercrafted things but they were killing things with them for Abil. We thought enchanting them now might mess up Abil's work.
(Logan) took my stiletto and put it on the anvil and made it hot and he and the blacksmiths worked it with heat and hammer. The hammer never really touched it, because instead it was pushing spirits to it. Some of them slid off and some of them kind of were pushed down against the metal. I asked Stariln to give his spirit guide to one of the blacksmiths so they could find the right spirit. I don't know a lot about crafting items, but I was told it's important how much a spirit wants to be in one. Some items fit spirits better. It's the same the other way around. It's like choosing a house. I wondered what kind of spirit would want to be in a weapon that had never drawn blood. They kept hitting it with the hammer. Then the blacksmith said a spirit had settled. They put it in water. Then they said it was done.
The smiths inspected the stiletto. Then they gave it back to me. They said it was magic. They were right. (Logan) started talking about payment. I realized he was talking about paying me for letting him use my weapon. I told him no, that was wrong. He had made it better. I should be paying him. I should be paying him. I asked him what I could do to pay him back for that. He said we should go back to town first and see what it did. I think mostly we were all excited.
The forge shut down after that. Some of the dwarves say it's waiting. It needs to cool down before it can be used again. We talked to Abil about it too. I think (Logan) is going to try to learn crafting. I hope he succeeds. I think he would have fun having Abil teach him. Abil seems like a good teacher for him.

Isanna Silverwind (Disclaimer: This is not a chronicle. Chronicle further down. But this is probably good to read anyway.)
I have one more thing I noticed cropping up a lot. I think culture clash is going to be an issue. Maybe not a big things happening in the world one. But a thing. There's the elves and the dwarves. And there's the party and the elves. And there's the party and Axiems. And then there's also the different Orc groups and there's Dagdeoth and there's the dwarves and the orcs in the tunnels. There's lots of groups and lots of ways to think and they're going to have conflict at some point.
Isanna Silverwind (Actual chronicle.)
We found out what the stiletto knife Enyari gave me was enchanted with. It belongs to the party because the party did things to get it made. I'm going to try to buy it back from them if I get other magic things. I don't want to lose it when the party disbands one day. Enyari gave it to me and it's important to me even without being magic.
Mostly we spent today in a cave. We went in because there were orcs coming up out of it. Lord Throllis had people fighting them. There was a deeper cave too. We were supposed to go through the orcs to the deeper one.
There was a lot of fighting. And lots of orcs. Nobody tried to kill hem. I don't know if they would have, given the choice. They didn't have much chance. There were too many orcs, and they came really fast a lot of the time. I ran around and healed people with empathic ray. There were a couple other mages healing too. We were really effective. There's a thing about Empathic Ray. It's cost. You sacrifice your place in a fight to give it to someone else or take it from someone else. It's about power and initiative and giving it up to create opportunities for other people. It's interesting. I wonder if it means anything.
The party fought through a lot of orcs. There were bodies all over and people hurting. It didn't wasn't as bad as it used to be. I guess I'm getting used to it. I don't know if I want to be used to it. If I get used to it maybe I'll stop noticing it. I don't want to be okay with people hurting. There are some party members who are. A lot of them. Some of them even like hurting people. They say it's sport and game. I don't want to ever be like that.
The party fought them all until there were no more there. Then the cave opened up and got so huge we couldn't see down or across. We went back to the inn then.
In the inn the party was talking about a lot of undead. They weren't Dagdeoth undead, they were elder sorcery shamblers and stuff in big coats. That sounded like Frost. Talia thought so too. She said Lady Sentris would deny knowing if I asked though. Or at least not tell me anything new. I guess that makes sense. In Axiems information is like a currency. Nobody gives away money just because you ask. So I didn't ask.
We went back to the cave. Dumali came this time because the orcs had been speaking a language nobody knew. We went down past where we went before. There was a path going back and forth down the side of a cliff. It looked dwarvish, but not very good for dwarvish work. It went down a long way. It was really dark. I cast light so we could see, but outside of the light it was still dark. It was scary. I hoped nothing big lived in there to hurt us.
We went down a long way for hours. It was dark. I was anxious. I wished I had brought Eryss. Eryss would be less scared. Eryss is always less scared. Dumali was there though. And Stariln. That helped.
We found more orcs, and some dwarves. They were fighting. We helped the dwarves. I didn't like the fighting, but it was kind of comforting to have something happen. Walking in endless darkness is worse. After and sometimes during the fight, Dumali and (Reese) started talking to the dwarves. Dumali said the dwarves only kind of spoke the type of dwarven she knew. They had another dialect I guess.
The dwarves started chaining up the orcs. We asked why. One of them told Dumali the orcs had dwarven prisoners and they were going to trade the orc for one of their own. That sounded okay. Then I walked over to (Reese). He was talking to one too. He said he'd been told they were going to be used for work as slaves. I told him about what Dumali had been told. He said no, they had definitely been captured for work as slaves, not prisoner exchange. But it was okay, he said. They were only orcs.
I got mad at him. I told him they weren't just orcs, they were people just like us. He said no they weren't. He said they were abominations, and they were good for sport killing, and that's all. I told him that no, saying they were just orcs is like saying that someone else is just a hobbit, just a human, just a dwarf. The only reason we got right to anything was that we were stronger and more able to kill them, and if we were condemning all the weak people we might as well condemn all the commoners to slavery too. He said no, it was different because they were orcs. (Patrick) jumped in and backed me up at that point, and (Reese) reluctantly conceded.
We didn't interfere though we should have and I feel bad about not because it didn't seem like either of them was lying and we weren't sure what was going on well enough to interfere with it. That's a bad excuse. We failed at interfering when we should have.
We came back up. It was long and dark again. Then we went to the inn. The rest of the party was out. We went to look for more of Frost's undead. We found some, and (Max) stole papers from them. (Max) and I are making the Knitting Club. We're tailors both, so we're going to make everyone cloaks and gloves. He's also a thief though. So he searched for papers. The undead activated when he did. Then they almost killed us all. We ran away. They killed me but the couple alive party members didn't let them eat me. Avalous and I think Barron Von Schnitzel and I got out. (Max) did too, because he could hide and none of the undead could find him.
I'm a stronger nature mage now. I know Elder Sorcery words. Only a few, but some. Elder Sorcery is interesting. I'm going to ask Lord Orixriel if he knows any nature mages who have gone past guildmaster in Nature. I want to find them and learn from them. And if they don't exist I'm going to go find elementals and see if they can teach me. It's neat though. And I like it. I look forward to learning more.

A bunch of character work chronicles that no longer have to be private due to no longer relevant. If you enjoy character thought processes and emotions, maybe this is your thing. Otherwise, you're under no obligation to read it, there's no plot information there.

Isanna Silverwind
I'll get my other chronicle up. Promise. Sorry I've been so long about it. 's especially important because I make mistakes and got reprimanded in it and I want to take responsibility for those because ignoring them's not okay. The last couple days things happened though. I wanted to write before I started forgetting.
A couple days ago Turastar stood up and said he wanted to clear out the wood. He said he was going to become a ranger. We said okay and followed him. A lot of us did. It was important. Also if things native in the forest got hurt that would be bad. So we followed him. He walked a lot in the snow. The snow wasn't very thick at all. Summer is coming I think. It hasn't been as cold. Once we got to the forest there wasn't much snow. That was good because it wasn't very cold, but it was bad because the Dagdeoth people didn't leave footprints. We found them anyway though.
We lost the first time. They stabbed us all and left us for dead. We didn't die. We woke up. It hurt still so we patched ourselves up before going after them. The second time we won. (Max) searched all the things and found some stuff. It wasn't anything I wanted, but he's happy, so that's good. We kept going. We found the second group a little later. We won that without a lot of problems. There was a fancy staff that (Max) searched off one of them. It did identify and other stuff. There was also an exploding helm. We decided to leave it. If the protectorate has ways of getting at stuff like that it might be useful to them. We defeated the third group too. Results were similar. We made things trees as we went. That way they could be dealt with in more lasting ways later.
The fourth group defeated us handily. They also wanted our stuff. They came to me and healed me and tried to take the stiletto Enyari gave me. I treeformed. They reverted me. I treeformed again. They reverted me again. Their necromancer killed me. When I was resurrected I still had my stiletto. I guess they didn't have a thief. They'd managed to take some people's stuff though. The people were angry. 'specially (Jeremy).
There was also an elf. He was hovering in the trees for a little, carrying a spear with long strings of beads and wearing a thick grey cloak. I'd seen him once in the protectorate, but he didn't live in the place the rest of us did. He reminded me of Lagine. I wasn't sure why though. It wasn't his face. The Dagdeoth people killed him too. The party resurrected him. He didn't talk at all. He communicated with his hands. I guess he couldn't talk. He pointed to Stariln and to me and then gestured at the party. Then he made a flat sweeping motion with his hands. He did it twice before we figured it out. He was saying for just the two of us to stay there. The party backed off a little. He pointed to himself and made a cutting motion across his neck. Then he pointed to the spear. He meant to take the spear if he died. We agreed. The three of us went back to the party.
The second time we fought that division we won. I watched out for the elf. Both because I was curious and because I'd promised to do things if he died. If I make promises I want to keep them. Promises and oaths are important. You don't get to just forget about them. Ever. Until they're fulfilled. He seemed really determined and resolved and focused. He also used death ray strike at everything. That made him a really scary fighter. He walked in a way that was different somehow. Like an individual step was more significant for him than it is for the rest of us. I don't think that's actually true, it's just how he walked. Anyway, we defeated the last division too.
The elf took Stariln and me aside after, while Turastar and the others were heading off toward the center so Turastar could be trained. He handed me the spear. Then he made a sleeping motion and held up two fingers. He elaborated a couple times. We didn't understand. After a couple times (Josh), who'd been watching, told us we were being told to watch the spear while the elf slept. The elf nodded. We agreed. He wandered off into the forest, and we walked after him a little. The way he walked said he didn't want to be followed though, so we stopped. He obviously knows the forest. He obviously knows we pledged ourselves to the forest too. I wondered who he was. We never learned his name.
I used the staff to identify the spear later. It did staff touch and some stuff with rays. It had a really ambiguous history involving being made in the north too. It occurred to me as I was looking at it that it was the same type of beaded spear Lagine uses. That was interesting. I think he might be another Lagmenth elf. I'm not sure. I returned it to him yesterday. Then he disappeared into the forest again.
Turastar got his training. He was very happy.
Today we went north. It was very windy and very cold. There were a lot of feyish creatures with sorcery. People called them frost gremlins. They were little with big ears. They made our clothing invisible for a little. That was awkward. Also another group attacked us with ice spells. But only some of us. I think it was mostly the people who had fought the other ones that got attacked.
I talked to Orixriel today too. I said that normally people could only train up to guildmaster in a class but. He said really? and asked where I had been. I said Pinnacle and Axiems but mostly Pinnacle. He said that Pinnacle wasn't training people very well. I was a little bit offended on Pinnacle's behalf but not really offended. I asked if people trained higher than that in the protectorate. He said yes. I asked if he would be willing to teach me when I was ready. He thought about it. He said I was an elf, and that would help. I could learn but there wouldn't be visible results for ten or twenty years maybe. He said that was probably why Pinnacle didn't teach it. But he says he'll teach me when I'm ready, and that makes me happy.

Installment one of campout chronicles. Includes: The first couple days. Details on the ritual with the wyrm demon. The chronicle of the thing that ended with a village being dead. Coming: The last couple days. Details on Lagine and the long conversation with him. Details on the tablet. Observations about the Sentris family. Also a guest appearance from Bridge.Monday Isanna Silverwind (Only avaliable to Axiems adventurers)
Axiems is getting scary. There's three wars I think, maybe more. Divine and armies and mafia. I don't know a lot about the mafia but there's a member of it in the inn now. He behaves like how Talia says Dagdeoth behaves. There's a Snowdrift too. They don't get along. The Snowdrift throws people out of the inn before the mafia person can enforce things by killing them. People talk a lot less now that it can get them killed. For safety I'm not submitting these to the scribes guild anymore. I'm worried what happens if the wrong people read them, especially if Dagdeoth is in power. Dinner was good. There were a lot of us all eating together. It was nice. There was a bunch of us--Turastar and Lenore and Talia and Mia all sitting and talking. Broncis came up behind Lenore and stood silently for a little. Lenore said stop. He said why. She said it was creepy. He stayed there. It was kind of funny. It made us all a little nervous though. Later though Natitath was playing music and singing and he was really good at it. Then Turastar and me joined him. Then Mia started drawing him. It was cool. We have lots of arts people in our party. At night we went to the protectorate. There was a ritual we were supposed to look at. A couple elves had gone to look before us. They hadn't come back. It was really dark. The light was long and it was all from the moon. I couldn't see many stars. There was undead animals everywhere. At first it seemed like normal animals, but they were rotting. Some of them were all ghosty and stuff. A lot of them weren't night animals. They felt really bad. Animals aren't supposed to be undead. Undead aren't supposed to stay animals. The whole thing was really weird. I was going toward where it seemed like the ritual was when I got attacked by something. It looked like a giant wyrm with a huge longsword. It swung the sword at me but instead of cutting me it took my energy. Made me tired. I tried to defend myself with the stiletto, since it's silver, and it helped a little but I fell over a thing and got my energy drained again. When I was alive again there was Lenore and it was very dark. She had a finger to her lips. We were both pressed against a big tree. I could hear animals moving around. Eventually she whispered to go and we ran off into the woods. We met up with what was left of the party outside town. Back in town there were a bunch of people around a tablet. I guess they found it in the storm. There were a lot of them around it and a haunt too. I tried to look but there were too many people. I thought I was getting in the way because there were too many people. I left and let other people deal with it. Baron Von Schnitzel thinks the tablet is going to be a ritual though. He thinks the little balls that go with it will move around and do things. He has notes about the ritual in the forest too, but I haven't seen them yet. He says he'll show me when he gets them down. Tuesday Isanna Silverwind (Only avaliable to Axiems adventurers) MorningWe went back into the forest this morning. Tihis isn't much of a chronicle, because I died again. Just notes. Blinky saved everybody though. She was really cool. Anyway, here are the ritual notes. The picture's mine, but all the notes are things Baron Von Schnitzel said. He said it was a powerful binding ritual with parts for summoning, binding, and control. Whoever made it had a special word that was probably the demon. I guess that makes sense. Names and stuff. It was done in a grove, except also it was an actual wyrm's nest. It seemed like maybe the grove was the source of a little power, but probably the source of most of the power was the haunt from the other night. They mana drained it til it died and kept draining to power their ritual. He aged most of his natural lifespan from it. Maybe more. Anyway, Baron von Schnitzel thinks they summoned the demon into an actual wyrm. It already lived there before they put a demon in it. Whoever they were, they weren't still there. It was causing problems for the ritual. The ritual needed a powerful necromancer. It didn't have one anymore, so it was having trouble. It was trying though. It still made the demon stay in one place. We couldn't disrupt it without letting the demons go wherever they wanted. Baron von Schnitzel is working on a way to take apart the ritual and not make more problems. I think he'll be able to. He's good at this sort of thing. AfternoonThings were bad. None of that should have happened. I should have bee careful. They should have noticed. She shouldn't have been alone. We shouldn't have pursued. I should have controlled him. I should have looked harder. We should have stuck together. He should have disabled her lies. They shouldn't have healed him. I shouldn't have believed him. Later I should have believed him. I shouldn't have said all that stuff. I shouldn't have done those things. I shouldn't have threatened to do stuff. I should have made better choices. I was angry. We were angry. They were clever. They were threatened. All the puzzle pieces present and I didn't look. I didn't look at anything but the people in front of me. Everything else suffered for it. There are lots of different hims and hers there. You can't really tell what's happening. I'm gonna start where things are supposed to start. Maybe then the story will be easier to tell. Or to tell without second guessing. Second guessing already happens. Chronicles are history though. They need to be true. Otherwise they're just feelings on paper. Or lies. Lies is worse. I did a lot of lying. We were going to the tinker shrine. It had dungeons. People said they had weird illusion screaming. It sounded interesting. We walked out of town. A bunch of people approached us. We went past, except (Zane) hit them with an inferno aura. They were just people. It wasn't okay. I came back and healed a lot of them, but they stabbed me. It hurt but I didn't really blame them. They'd just got hit with inferno aura for no reason. I wouldn't like us either. I got dragged off by a thief. Mia noticed. She followed, but she didn't bring any help. I guess he got her. Then he stole my stiletto. Turastar and Urun found us. They asked what happened. We told them. Then I said I wanted to go after the thief. I didn't say why. I didn't tell them that losing that felt like losing my connection to Enyari and to home. I just said I was going and if they wanted to help they could. The party kept going. We said we'd meet up later. Mia, Turastar, Urun, (Josh), and (Logan) came. We tracked the thief to a little village. The people there were scared. I could feel it radiating off of them. We asked questions. There were no answers though. Just fear. I don't remember how the first fight broke out, but it did. We got angry. I hope we didn't attack first. I don't think we attacked first. But. I didn't think other things later and they still happened. I might be wrong. We healed our people. I asked Mia if there were tracks outside of town. Other places people might have gone. She looked. There were three sets. One was new enough to be our thief. She and Urun and I followed it after the group didn't gather up when asked. We walked a ways. We came to a barn. There was a scythe missing from the tools, but nothing else. We followed the tracks out into a field. The farmer there was just a farmer. He wasn't hurting anything. He wasn't even scared. He was just farming yellow grain. Urun left. He was tired of this. Mia and I went back. When we got there, our people weren't there. We asked where they had gone. People said they didn't know. We asked the one outside the shop. He said he didn't know either. We pointed to the blood and drag marks on the floor. He conceded the point. I regenerated everyone. They said they'd been dispatched. Turastar retaliated. He didn't know who the assassin was. He attacked everyone. I focused on finding the item. I didn't stop him. I didn't think to. I was angry by then. I don't think about repercussions when I'm angry. ✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖ ✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖ ✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖ ✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖ ✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖✖ He didn't say anything about what we wanted to know. I tried to come off as threatening. As willing to do him harm. I didn't. I wasn't. I pulled Turastar away from him once. (Josh) said he'd found someone who would talk from the people in the shed. It was the thief. She talked a lot about how dangerous it was for her to help us. I threatened to make it worse for her. I threatened harm. I don't think I threatened torture. I might have though. It came up. (Logan) offered me an acid to use for it. I tried not to show how scared I was that he wasn't bluffing. Or that he thought I might not have been. I told him to put it away. He did. The thief finally conceded a little after that. Or said she did. She said she'd lead us where we needed to go. None of us remembered that thieves are trained to lie. We negotiated with her in terms of her relationship to Dagdeoth. Or. I did. We healed the herbalist. He said he could fix all the hacks. We thought it was safer than healing people and waiting to have them turn on us again. Then we walked away from town with the thief. A little later the herbalist came running after us saying his people were all dead. They hadn't been dead last I'd seen them. Just hacked up. It sounded like a trap. It sounded like he'd killed them, if they were even dead at all. It sounded like I'd be an idiot to go with him. I ignored him. The thief lead us down a road to nothing. Then law enforcement was there. They said we were accused of massacring a town. I didn't know anyone was actually killed. I said so. They said that's not what they found. They said the herbalist was the only one alive. They said he'd said he'd come after us for help. They said the people looked like they'd been mauled to death by an animal. I said I'd go heal people. (Josh) asked if we could continue our mission. He said it was important. He said it'd been given by Sentris. I didn't remark that this mission was more likely against her than anything else. The thieves and assassins are hers. I wanted to though. We went back to the town. They weren't lying about the dead people. Turastar's wolf had killed everyone but the herbalist. I regenerated everyone. Then we were taken back to Axiems and questioned. They let me go. I hadn't hurt anybody. I never hurt anybody. Not physically. It didn't mean I wasn't doing bad things. They didn't ask that though. Turastar is there for the night and some of tomorrow. His wolf is gonna die morganti if there's an incident like this again. The party didn't stop talking about it. I told the story. They asked, I told the them. It got exaggerated. By the time I heard it at dinner we'd run through a town and massacred everything without any mention of provocation or questioning. I stopped trying to correct them. It never helped. There was the death threat thing too. From Talia. Her religion is more important to her than mine is to me. She said if I ever impersonated it again she'd kill me. She said the information about Sentris was the only reason she hadn't already. I didn't argue with her. It was like the growing story. Natural consequences for being a bad person. Everyone was a bad person on that mission. Everyone but Urun. We all did bad things. We all let each other do bad things. Nobody is ever going to let us forget it. I'm never going to let myself forget it. NightWe met him. We met Lagine. In the forest, under the stars, singing. But. Things in order. There was night patrol. In the protectorate. They let Turastar out to patrol because he belongs to the protectorate. We walked. There were animals and stuff like normal. We had to convince people not to poke them. We met a couple people in the woods. Their hands were full of amulets and things. They didn't have permits. They wouldn't tell us why they were there. We knocked them out and were going to carry them out to Ruby. Then we got attacked by Dagdeoth. There was singing in the wild forest. We retreated toward it. They followed us. Ents killed them. At least I think it was ents. A holy falling tree branch sounds like probably ents. Of the party, only I died. We went deeper. There was Lagine in the trees. He pulled spirits from the trees. Hundreds. They swam around him as he sang. The group walked with him, hummed with him the tune because we couldn't remember the words. He talked to Kusari, things about the goddess and no one knowing her name, things about Kusari and what she was, things about the haunts and their readiness to die. Lots of things. I don't remember well. Eventually we came to the edge of the wild protectorate. He said we had to leave. He said this was where the haunts got angry. He said Kusari might survive, but it was unlikely, and the others stood no chance. Our group left. But we saw him again. We know where to look for him. It sounds like somewhere with him is the secret to the elven afterlife. I'm going to go again tomorrow. And find him. And talk to him. Not tonight though.

For formatting reasons, it made more sense to post this separately from Isanna's work. Bridge - Keychain - Both Branches, Subordinate under Skeleton. Axiems - Northern Svodlun, just south of the Snow LineMy name is Bridge. I am an operative for a group of historians and heroes called the Keychain. I am bodyguard for important individuals, usually within our organization, but at times external individuals as well. I was present in this location to guard Skeleton. By the time this is published xe will no longer be in this location. I was present on this mission as guard to Pinical Mage Nina Earthshooter. By the time this is published she will no longer be in this location. The local adventurers were going north. There were odd weather patterns in the area. They had begun to encroach on the forest to the north. Weather patterns were said to be characterized by endless storm and snow, magical fluctuations, and the presence of what was described as an ice wraith. It was clarified that the creature was not truly an ice wraith. The term had been appropriated as it was the closest the adventurers had to a name for it. Earthshooter was called in on account of her ability to handle significant magical phenomena, including unsanctioned weather magic. A paladin from the guild and myself were both ordered to accompany her and prevent harm coming to her. We proceeded north. Upon coming to the storm, she noted a distortion in reality. I noted a distortion in magical fields in the area. How said information was acquired will not be stated here. She informed the party of her observation. She informed them that should we solve or destroy its cause, we could not be certain we would not be trapped in this secondary location. She stated aside to me that the behavior of the storm was reminiscent of the Darkness Zone. I agreed with her observation. This historian will note that the similarity is in regards to growth and extradimensional nature, and not to any disruption of timeflow or sunlight. Sunlight was in fact remarkably undisrupted by the storm. At very least, it was not disrupted in any single space for a period of time significant enough to allow vampires to move with impunity. We crossed an icy landscape. We were waylaid by wolfmen and ice gremlins. I was caught in a duel with two wolfmen for a time. They fight well. The ice gremlins were problematic to the adventurers. They were not so for myself, Earthshooter, or the guild paladin. As we walked we noted that storm magic had increased in its intensity and flame magic had decreased. We proceeded onward. We came to a creature. I would not describe it as an ice wraith. The adventurers identified it as the being at the center of the storm. A man of the north identified it as a mythic being known as a Shadow Walker or some title of that sort. I cannot confirm the accuracy of my memory on this point. The creature was somewhat wraithlike in appearance. Its eyes were icy white and blue. I noted that its magic was primarily storm but contained traces of many magic types. How said information was acquired will not be stated here. It proceeded to ask several adventurers their names. Once it had them, they fell under mind control or else exerted significant power to avoid doing so. I proceeded to remove the control. The Shadow Walker did not give answer to questions of its own identity. Eventually an adventurer by the name of Stariln, an apprentice of the Keychain, stated its name as the Ominous. He claims to have obtained control over it and any people it had the name of. There followed a moment wherein the snow stopped. It was very brief. The Ominous dissipated or else was simply gone. No trace of its presence was left afterward. We no longer existed within a secondary plane. We returned to Axiems. The adventurers stated that this had resolved questions they had about a document from the North. We have collected a copy of this document for our records.

Ellion Rosewater -- Firstmoon of 16,029
Holly
The Stonehammers are willing hosts, indeed encouraging prospective heroic and adventurous types from near and far to gather within their walls. As with all such gatherings, the variety of individuals was large, ranging from beautiful ladies to knowledgable magicians, courteous gentlemen, boastful gladiators and skulking rogues. The collection is common of adventurers, as Randwin, Amir, and even Menonass have seen during my time in such places, but it was my first time in the thick of the group rather than simply having an awareness of them, and it is fascinating. Those who caught my attention were a distracted woman named El, a well composed lady who went by Eleanor, a pair--Cirdan and Ivamin--who practiced with runestones, and the charming Vlad. There was, too, a man with a spirit of sorts screaming inside him, which was amongst the more disconcerting spirits I've seen.
Activities were plenty and enjoyable. I fought twice in the gladiator rings, once on my own and once alongside a skilled veteran--David, if I recall--and the experience was good. There was some singing, though my voice was not serving me terribly well, and dancing which was somewhat more successful. Tis this dancing and singing where I met Vlad and the aloof derisive Vanessa, who claims that Axiems is to be the proud owner of "a party full of Ellens". Too, there were a number of riddles for hopeful prizes, and with them the task of untying the ribbons that bound them and making certain they all found their way to beautiful ladies by the night's close.
It was clear that the Stonehammers had every wish to attract adventurers, though ordinarily I hear a degree of caution surrounding inviting such a varied and unpredictable folk into a city. Though certainly gems changed hands enough that it might be considered encouraging for the economy, I cannot help but think that the Lord and Lady of Grammion Hold lost money overall. After all, they did give away six magic items in the course of the night, and three runic weapons besides. I can hardly object, having been a beneficiary of their generosity twice over, but it does lead me to wonder what they hoped to gain by the festival if not commerce and income. Perhaps it was simply a display of wealth. Such is common amongst the upper classes, where such demonstrations tie in to politics rather effectively.
Indeed, politics was definitely a factor, albeit one kept below the surface. When a young storyteller inquired as to the developments surrounding the collapse of the Svodlun ecomomy and the full abolishment of slavery, Lord Eric Stonehammer downplayed his involvement in the matter, placing most of the credit on the heads of the Free Republics.

As I am far too lame to post actual chronicles for Ellion, have my notes from the Ulalina Festival. Ellion's Song and NotesCross waters deep we traveled to these shores In forests green we made our homes anew And now we must remain forever more No bridge to cross, no ships to sail us through
I chose to stay as all the bridges burned Remain with you beneath these starlit skies Now we, my love, are all that still remains The rest have gone; the brave, the good, the wiseElves (Max) - Nothing (Gabriel) - Things turn silver, blind in left eye briefly, things feel blurry Cirdan and Ivamin - things turn silver, dome of spirits watching, one of the runes flickers Ellion - sense of waters, dome of spirits, prow of ship with gold shimmering, oars, blind in right eye briefly Orc Durotan - unties self, elves freak out but don't shoot, song in orcish, three arrows go off, (Elliot) blocks two, one shatters in the air, the earth feels shimmery and silver especially around Ray. Autumn robe guy (Orixriel) stands, "you desecrate this ceremony, there will be no violence". Humans Eleanor - moment of everything seeming very large, sense of being on your back, disoriented, two figures stand in armor, important, connected to them, the man is crushed and the woman (protective) throws her shield to the side and moves toward shadow, blindness, flash of a straight black line intersecting a blue field with a bright red light behind it and a coldness, should feels afraid Green English man - demands audience with god of area, seems confused as to nature of gods, walks out Tutor - yells about Kronos. Ocean sound, feet are tickly and warm then very cold, sounds of river, then it slows to a trickle, head feels very heavy (Kate) - silvery feeling turns gold, garden, woman moves through touching leaves and looking at plants, white bright flower off to the side, 20 sec blindness, sharp stabbing sensation through midsection front to back, shifting in the back Vanessa - drums, footsteps, see burning blood, see yourself as if looking in a pool, see water freeze but reflection still there, sharp pain, ice cracks. Elliot - very quickly see winged person behind Elliot with flaming sword, Vlad departs, sun shining from behind Elliot, sound of bridle, sound of metal shifting, movement, horns, dome bends out across from him and becomes long and things charged in at him, seem aggressive, Norse (lightning and hammer banners), sun gets brighter, they fade as they get to the circle, dome returns to normal Hobbits (Natania) - large number of elves walking in the woods, walking with them, figure with staff bending over and reaching for the white flower from the garden vision, he looks over, brief recognition (Lagin), but then not. His eyes get big and scary, hand goes chest, feel like we've experienced that. Brief blindness. (Niall) - vast darkness above, like the night sky but up too close. Night sky pours into the dome. Something moving the shape of a woman, starlight moves along her. "What broken dreams must you artifice ... when all out paradise was this", sucks back up, everybody goes blind. Dwarf (Miranda) - dome of spirits, some flee and become foggy. Feels odd? Lagin - A swarm of haunts gather after his song Follow through the fog singing Come to grove Spectral flowers Touch flowers something fades Eleanor straightens, elven formal courtesy bow, walks along as with someone, steps back, affronted, unsafe, pain, conversation, formal discussion, almost laughter, anger, lash out, pain

Snowflake - Keychain - Historian - Chapter Leader (Axiems) Axiems, Svodlun. 3rd of Fifthmoon, year 16,026.
There's a war going on. It's getting bigger, and there's not really any excuse to be hiding in the Protectorate anymore. I know a lot of the others don't agree, but I think they're wrong. I don't want Axiems to fall to Dagdeoth. There's a really big picture and I think Orixriel thinks if he ignores it hard enough he won't have to deal with it. Or maybe he sees it and just doesn't care. He's not stupid. Just arrogant.
Lady Sentris's not very happy right now. It's okay. I wouldn't be if my city was under attack either. The mafia is fighting another grey war it sounds like. Someone who knows how to deal with that should go deal with that. I can try, but I'm not really an assassin or a thief. Lord Broncis isn't very happy either. He's disagreeing with his mom on some things again I think. Maybe still. Lady Sentris and Lord Broncis are really different people. Abil seems to be okay though. It sounds like he has bees that process gems to play with. That sounds like something he'd enjoy. I haven't seen any new Abil stuff though. Not sure why.
There were a lot of trolls attacking the gate. We killed a lot of them. I think they expected us to be a lot weaker than we were. They started running away. We didn't chase them.
There were a lot of things Lord Broncis wanted done. I'm not allowed to say about them though. He was really careful talking about them and I don't think I want to ruin that, so I'll submit a private report to be released some other time when we aren't fighting Dagdeoth as much. It'll get released eventually though, promise.
A lot of people investigated a cave with undead in it. It talked about the ice wraiths. I don't know a lot, but some of them should chronicle it, and I'll try to send copies of stuff.
There were also dark ogre dark heroes. We fought them too. That was a hard fight and a lot of people died a lot. I was really busy running around healing them all. There was something ethereal at the beginning too, but I don't think it could find us because I hid a lot of us. I never really engaged in fighting besides earthbinding people. But I kept everyone else fighting and helped manage the battlefield. That was good. I'm good at that. We beat them all and we were gonna capture them but someone with a drake killed them while we were dragging them behind lines. We got their things I guess, they'll hafta put resources into getting more things. And maybe some of them stayed dead. But we could have had all of them. Now we'll probably see them again.
We need to win some more. If we win enough Axiems'll hold and we'll be able to go north and fix the eye. But for now it's a lot of fighting.

I noticed you mentioned an ethereal being, to clarify for those reading it was not some wraith or specter (thank god) it was just a magic item that gave etherial travel to the user, hence why it didn't go pop back in etherial after that.

Snowflake - Keychain - Historian - Head of operations in Axiems. Tower of the Apparition, Grey Isles. 13th of Fifthmoon, year 16,026.
I'm on a boat now. I was on a boat seven days ago too. I only really remember the first of those days, cos things happened and they were weird and I don't think they took a week and I don't remember getting here.
We came here on this boat a couple days after adventuring. There was a person-lizard who wanted to see the Tower of the Apparition and find old secrets and stuff. Madwing and Sprout and Dumali and Cirdan and I were all really excited. The Grey Isles is a place almost no one goes. It's one of the big mysteries no one's ever solved.
When we got near it the boat captain said he wasn't gonna take us any further. There were little dinghy things though. A lotta people used those. A few of us flew. The dinghy people had some problems cos they kept displacing places. Spacial reasoning's not as useful as you'd think, everything just kinda flits around and changes and isn't very consistent. We landed on the docks and there were a lot of haunts, all over everywhere. They were doing normal people things, mostly. They didn't like us though. Some people tried to talk to them, but they attacked the people. I guess even people being there escalated them.
We tried to walk toward the tower. We could see it in the distance. We walked and walked and then space got all shifty and we were back on the beach. we tried going a different direction, but that shifted us back to the beach too. I took my key and waked toward the tower and turned it when we got to the first place that had shifted us back. I dunno if that was why, but we didn't get sent back to the beach anymore after that.
We came to the tower. Sometimes it went way high up. Sometimes it looked like the top had fallen off. It went back and forth. A bunch of us went to the top. A bunch of people also pestered the haunts around it. I think most of them died.
At the top there was a haunt rolling dice. It kept rolling the dice and then stacking them, always with pairs on the bottom and the highest number on the top. It had a set of five colored orbs too--blue, green, yellow, orange, and pink. They all glowed. He rolled dice a bunch. Then he took the glowing out of each of the five orbs and shook the dice really really a lot and tossed them. Three came up all the same and there was a really bright flash and then we were in this kinda colorless space without bodies. We poked around and Sprout felt out and found that there were five ways. I felt out and found that they each had moods. One was good, one neutral, one evil, one chaotic, and one chaotic good. We were pretty sure it was mage types. Up and down felt different than the others and I think down might have been our bodies, but I'm not sure. It felt like time was running out, so some people went one way and most of us went to chaotic good because it was nature and Sprout and I are nature people.
There was a riddle. It went: He stands beside the road in a purple cap and tattered green cloak. Those who touch him curse him. I answered thistle and it felt like we were... I guess collectively holding an orb, and we could either take it or let it go and keep going. We let it go.
There was another riddle: Day breaks, the gathering hush, and she steps out from the dream Walking in the morning, a stranger to the scene I have not found her since that day Though I search each and every way We talked a bunch about that one. Our first guess was the Elder Goddess, and it was right, but we had some others too. I don't remember them. We were collectively holding a sword, then, with the same choice. We let it go too.
One last riddle: In truth there is hope In valor there is glory In honor there is order In what is your story? We were really really nervous and unsure about that. We had a lot of answers from dreams to time to change and none of them felt like a perfect fit. Eventually we settled on I think choices and dream and a third thing as our guesses, but we didn't really think we had the right answer. We did though. Choices was it and we were in a place looking down at the rest of the group.
They didn't look like they were in good shape. A lot of them were half-naked like they'd been summoned or their things had been destroyed, and a few of them were in the process of passing on, and they were really chaotic and scared and worried. We had a spell to craft, and we knew that it would be built like elder sorcery and whatever it was would be true. We had celestial and nature words to work with. We made a spell to make a door to take them back to Axiems. It wouldn't take us, and it'd eat our mana for until we left the Grey Isles to power it, but it would take them home. That was what they needed. We cast it and then we're here now.
---
(16th of Fifthmoon - There was a door we made with our magic and the people who went through our door are back in Axiems like we intended.)

Somontile Report Ellion Rosewater, 22nd of Ninthmoon
Somontile Somontile is a powerful efreet, characterized by a unique blue flame. He is a prince of the elemental realm of fire, and takes the form of a size nine blue flame elemental. He is of very high and likely extreme intelligence, and very crafty. He desires control over large portions of Roekron, and acquires this control through a series of pacts. He has an adeptness with elder sorcery that permits him to drive people into berserking frenzies, summon large numbers of flaming undead to torch forests, and allegedly read minds.
As an efreet, he posesses the ability to grant wishes, and usually does so in a pact where a wish is given in exchange for something he desires. He may make a maximum of three pacts at any given time. These pacts, however, have an unstated cost for him. If all pactholders agree to bind him, he will be bound as they wish (quite literally, as we have recently discovered).
History Historical records of Somontile are sparse, as it seems factions within the Svodlun government have gone to great lengths to cover up his existence. What we were able to piece together came from scraps of information scattered hidden within texts and a few testimonies from relevant sources.
There are records as far back as the first age of encounters with elementals, and a few mention a blue elemental as a powerful being, worthy of respect and caution. There is little detail, however, and few conclusions can be drawn from these vague mentions.
Dorfindle, a legendary weapon of the Svod family, exhibits Somontile's characteristic blue fire at one end. This weapon was forged either shortly before, shortly after, or during the genocide the polar dwarves committed against the mountain dwarves in the second age. We were able to uncover references stating that Somontile was called upon by the polar dwarves to learn secrets they had failed to gather from the mountain dwarves before they killed them all. How to make items of greater magnitude, both in power and quantity. It is thus likely that, in the aftermath of their genocidal activities, the polar dwarf smiths summoned Somontile to produce the legendary Dorfindle, which has been passed down through their ruling line ever since.
We begin to have a more concrete story beginning much later, in the reign of the late King Falun Svod, father of the esteemed Queen Thresa Svod. Stories that have been related to me in Axiems describe the late Prince Welin Svod, predecessor of the esteemed Prince Nevil Svod as wielder of Dorfindle, took the weapon over mountains to a vale where he killed a man who both was and was not his kin and opened an entrance to the elemental plane of fire. He and King Falun then proceeded to enter that plane and seek out its prince. They bargained with it and finally came to an agreement, or a pact, if you will. It then returned with them to our world of Roekron and the three began their work.
I do not have the details of their pact, but I understand its effects quite specifically. Somontile helped King Falun erect Krodigros Forge, and in doing so lent them their highly advertised blue flame that appears when their works unforge. In exchange, Somontile received influence over King Falun's lands. However, following the completion of his forge, King Falun became wary of the creature he had invited to his doorstep and given free reign to partake in his kingdom. He thought, however, in his greed, that he might need the creature's power again one day. So he bound Somontile, deep in the Stonehammer Hills, in the dungeon known a Drakes Roost. And there the efreet stayed, chained, enslaved, forced to work on Falun's projects or not to be seen at all. The men who work with it say it spoke always of finding its people, and it was so terribly, terribly angry at the king who had bound it and left it to rot, a slave, beneath the earth. (You will note that dwarves have a proud tradition of leaving things to rot as slaves beneath the earth, and if you are like me, you will wonder what it is that compels them to do this. You and I may hope that it is not simply in their nature, and that we may find some way to sate whatever desire fuels this unfortunate pattern.)
And so it remained, though King Falun and Prince Welin died and faded into memory, until the succession of the Stonehammer region over the slavery of the orcish people. As it became questionable or perhaps even preposterous to believe that the mountains near Forgen were still Svodlun territory, so did the bindings upon Somontile weaken, that he was able to send a smaller, weaker version of himself to the front lines surrounding Axiems. There it was carried to the Axiems Adventurers inn, where a nature mage by the name of Sir Noodles healed it, answered a riddle of its, and was granted a wish and a pact. One line to the outside world secured, Somontile was able to take further steps toward whatever his goals might have been. At the trial of Dutchess Shanetill Grey Stonehammer, Lord Melimo Glimmereye, and Miss Linder, he was able to produce a large vision or oracle which effected all in attendance and was accompanied by his signature blue flame lighting on each person in attendance.
His influence was heightened, however, when a band of adventurers out of Axiems journeyed to the drakes roost in search of a hammer connected to Lord Hragnor. (It is unrelated but ineresting to note that Lord Hragnor was likely a member of the Krodos family, and that mountain dwarf ruling structures were centered around clans or families rather than individual kings and queens. I will refrain from referring to him as Lord Hragnor Krodos or any such names as I am uneducated in the ways that mountain dwarven honorifics were used and have no proof of his connection to the family.) It was here that they found, deep inside this dungeon, a secret room. It contained three large fire elementals as well as a single enormous blue efreet surrounded in a circle of blue flame. This is where I first met Somontile.
I disliked him from my first impression. He forced me into a state of berserking rage wherein, had the rest of the adventurers not exited the room, I would have been forced to kill them all in addition to the elementals present. I was then presented with a riddle and, upon answering correctly, offered a pact. I agreed to allow him to exit the circle in which he was bound, and I received a wish, which I intended to use to gain information at a later date.
I do not know the timing or circumstances of the making of the third pact. Regarless, from that point onward, his influence became much greater, and his actions much more dangerous. He sent a unit of undead including two flame demons and several death knights to burn down the protectorate North of Axiems. He began to influence the minds of Stonehammer supporters, drawing them into open attacks on Svod supporters and troops in mindless, magic-fueled rage. There was, shortly thereafter, war and riots inside Krodigros itself. And so it became clear that, were Dagdeoth not to take Svod and Stonehammer whilst they were busy fighting one another, action had to be taken.
Finally, and in spite of interference and obstruction from powerful forces inside the Svodlun government, all three living pactholders gathered by the place where the White Gramion steams and boils to send Somontile home and prevent him from bringing ruin upon both Svodlun and Stonehammer regions. The efreet appeared and attempted to bargain with the three of us, offering each an additional wish. He stated a distinct intention to destroy Svodlun, as they had enslaved him. In order to bind him, we each needed to wish to do so. At the time of my writing, these wishes have been made. Somontile is gone, back to the elemental plane of fire. Our wish removes his influence in this world, sends him back to his, and prevents him from coming back or seeking to gain influence here again. Lady Mia is dead and a haunt, her divine intervention vanished. Noodles is on his way back to Axiems to fight against Dagdeoth. And I am here. Recording the history of Somontile, to our knowledge, and hoping that it will never again be necessary or relevant.
List of Known Pacts King Falun Svod (Dwarf, male) received the production of Krodigros forge and its crafting apparati in exchange for giving Somontile widespread influence in his lands.
Noodles (Dwarf, male) received asssistance in the return of the esteemed Prince Norino Fin Svod to good health in exchange for answering a riddle and healing an injured manifestation of Somontile.
Ellion Rosewater (Elf, male) never made a wish, but received the opportunity to make one in exchange for freeing Somontile from his bindings.
Mia (Elf, female) received divine intervention to prevent her from passing on in exchange for an unknown cost.

The following was written in 16,026 but was only been released to the public as of 16,030 as it was by then no longer considered sensitive information. Snowflake - Keychain - Historian - Head of operations in Axiems. Pinnacle, Hostor. Sixthmoon through Ninthmoon, year 16,026.I’m gonna write this with a timeline in mind. Timeline seems a little important, especially because of seers and stuff and how it’s important for people to know some stuff was before seers and some was after. Seers kinda put a wrench in things. Months Prior: A medium girl named Eleanor and I sewed cloaks. There were some information meets in Pinnacle about Skyeyes. They just concluded we needed to go there to learn anything new. Madwing and I hid supplies every time a mission went north. 14th of Sixthmoon (Evening): Madwing called a meeting of adventurers. She stated what the mission was -- to go north and investigate Skyeyes, sneaking covertly through Dagdeoth on the way there. She asked for volunteers. There were a lot of volunteers. She asked for all their qualifications and they gave them. She asked if the group would be willing to permit that she decide the group from the volunteers. We were surprised when the group agreed. We thought they would argue. She said she would notify only the people she decided on directly before the mission that we would leave from. She also gave Lord Jerick Nonas a letter to deliver to Lady Sentris. And I think there was also a letter for Broncis. 14th of Sixthmoon (Night): Madwing told the people who were going that we were going to the storms in the north pass. The people who were going were Willow and Finch and Legs and Ink and Rune and Durotan and Silver and Mirinel and Badass and me and Madwing. Other people went there too, like Jerick, but they weren’t coming further than the storm. Madwing collected our hidden supplies on the way there. We fought Dagdeoth going out. We lost some items and had to rescue some people. We got to the storm and the weather was pretty bad. Worse than normal. In the middle there was a blue-eyed fairy ice wraith. It danced around. I said to it “what tiny dreams you are o singers but wisps of a grand expanse/If we’re ever to know the steps to take we first must learn to dance.” It said “I used to be a walker, but now I am a dancer.” There was more talking and prophecy-ing but I don’t remember, and it wasn’t much. It danced then with lights in its fingertips and I asked if I could dance too and it said I could so I danced just like it. Then there were lights in my fingers. Other people did too. It was fun. At the end we all threw the light up into the air and when it came down it went into our fingers. There was an oracle, but I don’t remember it. Then the fairy flew away. Then Madwing passed out all our stuff and the Skyeyes group went north. We flew all night til we were at mountains next to the Dagdeoth outpost at the pass and the sun was starting to come out and then Badass and Legs dug a hole in the snow and we slept. 15th of Sixthmoon (Morning): Madwing said the weather was going to be too scary and unpredictable if we went over the mountains. Especially if we were flying. We could get killed that way. So we all flipped our cloaks to the Dagdeoth side. Ink and I put sweat from the humans on us which was a little icky but a lot better than being dead. We turned the centaurs (Legs and Finch) and hobbit (Willow) into mice and put them in our bags. They would stand out too much. Then we went down the mountain into the outpost. We went through three checks. One was orcs. They didn’t check very much. They just waved at us and we went by. One was a troll. It also let us go by. The last group was smart ogres. They asked Madwing some questions and then let us go into the pass. Things attacked us in the pass. White wolfy things but not wolf people. And gremlins. And magic aura bears later. We had to revert people so everyone could get out alive. We got through okay though. The runeweavers unwove the bear spells. 15th of Sixthmoon (Afternoon): We walked through storms a lot. We had a lot of layers of clothing. It still could have been bad. It didn’t end up being though. It was okay. We ran into a dragon in a calm spot. It was a polar dragon like the one that came to Axiems when we called a dragon. Maybe it was the same one. It couldn’t see. It came down and it could smell and hear us. We asked it where Skyeyes was and it said. Badass and Madwing were both messing around. Badass is stupid. Madwing isn’t but she’s weird. The dragon was probably a seer. There is probably a seer dragon there now, just like there are probably seer titans. Then we ran into an old angry guy in another calm spot. He was one of the blue eyed ice wraiths. He looked like a really strong wizard. Madwing thinks he might have been a representation of Gristodemdal. We didn’t then though. He asked us if Skyeyes was really where we wanted to go and seemed skeptical at the dragon. And he got really mad and tried to kill us all when rules were mentioned. And Badass and Madwing kept messing around and it was frustrating. And then he stormed away. The last one we found was also in a calm. I think the ice wraiths bring a level of storm with them and compared to the weather up there it just seems like it’s good weather in comparison. The last one was also an ice wraith thing but more amorphous energy-ish. It tried to cast spells at us but Rune dispelled its elder sorcery and it faded. Stuff stopped being stormy after that and resolved into a huge thick fog. It kinda made sound hard to figure out. Madwing flew above it and checked directions. We tied ourselves together so we wouldn’t get lost. Then we walked through it. There were sounds, and I guess we made sounds too, since the sounds started coming toward us. The sounds were a Dagdeoth patrol. They forced Alais out of her body and the one of them who was in charge (a really big pale guy) almost killed Madwing with morganti but she said she had papers and waved her forged papers at him and he didn’t have a not morganti weapon so he took us to the city along with his division and his magic aura bear sled. 15th of Sixthmoon (Evening): It seemed like the guy who took us in was someone really important, but he was military and didn’t know about bureaucracy stuff. It seemed like he would rather just kill us. But he couldn’t because we might actually be important like our papers said. So he lead us to a processing area at the city wall. We could see into the city and there was a pair of door in the mountain with a giant eye, and a lot of fog. Sometimes the fog would clear a little and there would be an overwhelming morganti feeling. You could kinda see a tower when it did, after the city wall and after the mountain but before the bigger mountains in the background. It was the lance. We met a pair of Dagdean bureaucrats. One of them was in charge of spies and things I guess, and the other guy didn’t like him very much. The not spy guy wanted to have information on everyone and know the complete details of what was going on and the spymaster guy told him that wasn’t possible due to the nature of the undercover work his people did. He claimed we were his. The not spy guy identified Madwing and saw she was who she said. He conceded the point. The spymaster went with us til a little past the city. He told us the safest way to the garden. Then he said in ancient Odilathen language, “I mourn you.” Then he left. Dumali translated it for us. I hope he isn’t dead now for covering for us. 15th of Sixthmoon (Night): It got hotter as we got into the middle of the mountain ring, and the big huge morganti feeling got constant. We took off our cloaks and put them on the centaurs because they were supposed to be our slaves. It was still hot. There was foliage. It was all jungly. Not like any type I’d seen before. I was curious about it but we couldn’t really waste time looking. There were patrols too. All over. One of them was a big pale troll with a big morganti sword. It seemed a little suspicious of us. It asked for our papers and then followed us for a while. There was a big citadel we could see just a little over the foliage and we went there. There were titans chained on the path to it, all blind. They were really really tall. The citadel looked like it had been built for them. The stairs were huge. Dagdeoth had built littler stairs up the stairs because they needed them to get up. It was a lot of stairs. There were some people at the top looking out and pointing at the morganti tower. I think they were tourists. I didn’t know Dagdoth allowed for stuff like that. When we got to the top, we saw there was a demon and two dark guard skyknights with shadow drakes standing in the door. We all wanted to turn around and go back, but that would blow our cover. So Madwing made us stay put while she went to look out across the garden and check her maps. The demon and the skyknights finished talking, I guess, and the skyknights both mounted their shadow drakes and flew out toward the tower. They never crossed above the boiling lake, instead flying a close perimeter around its edge. Madwing returned to us about then, noting quietly that the pale troll was still watching us from the base of the steps, and there was a small gathering with him. She returned to her place at the front of the group. The demon came up to us. Madwing started kicking in the legs of the centaurs and hobbit so they would have to bow. The rest of us bowed on our own. We put our foreheads to the ground and waited for the demon to do what it was going to do. It seemed very proud and full of itself for a minute before it talked to us. I think it likes being treated like it’s more powerful than it is. “What are these?” it asked about the centaurs and hobbits. “Slaves,” said Madwing. Or maybe she said pack animals, I don’t remember. It looked at all of us discerningly. “Well equipped for slaves.” “They are useful.” “Very skilled as well.” “They are useful.” “Mm.” It killed each of the centaurs in turn with its flaming whip, and toyed with Willow some before killing her too. It tried to kill Madwing too, but she ducked aside and reverently handed it her papers, which it burned. It didn’t try to kill her again though. It watched us the whole time, but none of us reacted. When it was finished, it destroyed their things and then took flight itself, so we could go in. We stood up and filed in after Madwing, not touching the burnt corpses, but looking up I could tell it was still watching us very carefully. It wasn’t hard to see it, even if it was night. It never gets dark up there. The sun still lit the sky from behind the mountains, even at night. It’s weird, but not unnatural I don’t think. We walked into the citadel. The first thing we noticed was the quiet. There were no gods and no overlay and I don’t think anything could have seen us if it had tried. The second thing was it was huge. I think it would have felt big and important even if I was as tall as a titan. We walked up a ramp into a big room with twelve sides, but all of the things on them were burned away. It seemed like there had been carvings once maybe, but everything raised out from the wall had been burned and scraped away until everything was flat and clean and black. The only real feature still in tact was a massive eye carved into the floor in the middle of the room. It was a blue eye. We stood in a circle in it. We weren’t sure what to do. I remember things that happened, but not the order. So I’ll just say them all and maybe someone will get the order right. Madwing and I recited some prophecy and got part of the stag to the bow prophecy back at us and also voices, lots of voices, mad and insane and sharp. They hurt our minds. I don’t remember if that was when everyone went blind or if that was later. I think that might have been when everyone went blind. Ink looked around at everything through a crystal and told us about what had been on the walls. I guess he had a spell for it. We have drawings of some of the shapes, we should add those to this. Rune tried to do the same but her eye was burned out with morganti with the word “eos” or “geas” or something like that. There was a thing where Madwing and I just had our minds assaulted by lots of angry insane voices and we had to push them away. There might have been more things. I don’t remember. Eventually we were all blind and Ink runewove a teleportation spell to get us out. The Intervening Month: We were all one being, and then many beings, and then one, and all our particles were unforming and mixing and reforming over and over and over like a haunt. We didn’t know what the passage of time was like. It wasn’t really clear. 2nd of Eighthmoon (Afternoon): We appeared in the pass to the North. We didn’t have any things except the ones we normally carry. I wonder what happened to all the other things. We were in a storm and there was a big ice wraith there. It had a big globe in its middle. We talked to it a little, and then I told it that it was explorers. I guess that was right because it gave us a riddle. We talked about the riddle a lot because the answer was explorers but that seemed redundant. We said it though, and then the wraith said the Stag to the Bow prophecy to us. We didn’t get all of it. Madwing has the best record of what we did get. We needed to go to Pinnacle, because we couldn’t go back to Axiems. Lesil would probably kill us. Not permanently. She’s too smart for that. But she’d at least kill us a little to make examples of us and then we wouldn’t be able to leave anymore. In Pinnacle there would be resources. And we’d be able to go back maybe. We had teleport points memorized, they could send us back. I turned us all into great horned owls and mice and then we flew over Dagdeoth’s army. 2nd of Eighthmoon (Evening): We landed and reverted near the Keep of Hragnor and walked the rest of the way there. They gave us some basic equipment. Then we kept going, except we flew as ourselves instead of birds. 2nd of Eighthmoon (Night): As we passed the Stonehammer region Durotan said the spirits were all funny. There were ocean spirits way upriver and mountain spirits down on the plains. He didn’t know why. The spirits didn’t say. Going through the pass we saw a really dark dragon moving behind us and blocking out stars. It was getting bigger, so it was probably coming toward us. I broke off from everyone to deal with it so it would be distracted with me and the others could go on. It was a really big dragon. Really dark and kind of metallic. It asked me where I was going and what I had seen and I didn’t give it very good answers really. It asked me if I wanted to see the things again. I said no, not really, at least not right now. Then it cast a spell. It also asked me about eating me and I asked it not to and made a comment about never having eaten elves. It was a bad comment to make. The dragon cast a spell on me that made me want to eat myself. I had to try really hard to not and it was creepy and awkward and weird. The dragon left after that. I met back with the group. We kept going and got to Pinnacle that night. Most people just went to Enyari’s house and fell asleep on the floor there. I went to go be identified and get the dragon’s spells taken off. The first one that I didn’t know what it did was going to make me devolve into reseeing all the oracles I’d ever had at some point. So that was bad too. They got a runeweaver who was willing to unweave the spells. He was a young human. I guess he was a little bit pretty looking, for a boy, but not anywhere near as pretty looking as he thought he was. He was very energetic about the unweaving and tried to flirt with me afterward. It was weird and awkward. Then I went to Enyari’s house and slept too. 3rd of Eighthmoon (Afternoon): We talked to Embarcarious. It sounded like he knew a lot of things but couldn’t do a lot because he knew a lot. He said what we’d seen confirmed a lot of things. He asked us what we wanted to do. He said he could probably use resources to take the city and hold it for a couple days, if he needed to, but that it would likely cost us Roekron if we failed. Maybe even if we succeeded. He told us we wouldn’t be able to do things the same way we’d done this time. Dagdeoth would know we had done it and be looking for it. He also seemed to think if we went to solve things, we wouldn’t come back. After we were done talking, he gave us a study to use and some papers we should know about and told us he would see what he could get in terms of information. 6th of Ninthmoon (Afternoon): Madwing and I had decided if we were going to solve the problem, we had to get to Skyeyes Doors. Skyeyes was a Dagdeoth military city. We would need to control it, because we couldn’t get those doors open without anyone noticing. Maybe we couldn’t get them open at all on our own. We weren’t happy about Roekron being at stake but it was better than the world dying. Our group met with Embarcarious again. He said he had new information. He said there was a way up we could use through Terriock. People there had gotten through to Bonehold using Dagdeoth’s WPTS. He also said Skyeyes was probably only inhabited by seers now. They were titan seers though. We didn’t think an army was going to be very useful against those. We had to reevaluate our plan. He promised us whatever resources we needed that he could give us. Assorted Further notes: People are having problems doing things with vision. We’re gonna learn blindfighting in case we all go blind, either from oracles or whatever’s happening. My name is Sidra Ivanova, I was trained in Dagdemar, Anastasia Dagmere is my commanding officer, and I am not allowed to speak without her express permission. We’re leaving tomorrow. I’ve said the goodbyes that matter I think. I’m scared. Ummm. Thank you Enyari. For everything. And also Embarcarious. And thank you Orixriel for teaching me even though you’re a bad person and I never said it to your face. And if Jill ever comes back someone tell her that I wish I could have said bye to her in person. And thank you Lesil for forcing me to grow up and decide what mattered. And if Kyrin ever comes back someone tell her I miss her. And someone should really take over the Keychain branch in Axiems. And take care of Eryss. I don’t know. ...I think I’m going to live up to my family’s name though.
