Hello all you bloody readers who found my journal.
Here are the compounded entries of a man who entered the mists to try and make a change. I often forget to introduce the new people I meet, but they are either picked up along our travels or solved mist haunts.
Our goal is to enter the mists and set up a base of operations for Pinnacle to begin studying and eventually rebuilding the old Teriock we remember.
Our captain sent us out through the Blue Reefs, and the journey on the sea is getting tiring. Multitudes of random haunts and storms are leaving us exhausted at every turn, and last night we ran right into a reef and left a hole in our boat! Such shit luck. Weird mist storms are displacing and fucking up our ship, if we didn’t have countermeasures we would have been screwed. If anyone else is going into the mists, displacing suuuucks. Right now I’ve stepped up to be the guy who tests shit, kinda fun, though I miss the good ol’ days of jumping off cliffs and shit. Being on a boat sucks ass.
A weird storm thing just passed by and hit most of our party with a damaging identify cascade thing??? What the fuuuuck? Thank god I didn’t get hit with that. I’ve been spending most of my time just reading the random books we brought with us at this point, and even that's getting tiring.
It’s been a few weeks but some weird shit has been going on. Soooo uh, we found a whirlpool? But like, it isn’t moving. I’m wondering if it has some other use, because there’s a path into it and it’s acting really funky? I mentioned this to some other people on the crew and I guess we’re going to check it out, but now I’m kinda worried.
Woah, so apparently the whirlpool brought us into the bottom of ANOTHER whirlpool??? We got out of that and it seems like we’re somewhere else. We’re gonna keep sailing for a bit then try and figure out where we are.
Damn I forgot about this thing,, guess I should start writing again. We’ve finally got out of the reefs, and have found the first sight of land! Some weird temple thing on top of a reef or something but everythings totally distorted?? Kinda stupid. We decided to poke at it more, and I think the people who went into the mists before us used this as a safe house? Or that’s what some map we had called this.
One of the better cartographers are saying we’re in the inner sea??? That seems wild to me. I guess it checks out with the map of the inner sea we found, but damn this shit be hurting my head! I think regret coming on this mission.
Mike, this sick unweaver guy, thought this is where we should set up the base of operations, and I kinda agree. If we get rid of this distortion it seems like a really sick temple, and maybe we can figure out what happened to these people and who they were? Maybe solve them, but talking to them doesn’t really do anything.
YOOOO MIKE THE LEGEND! I guess we had to use our anti displace crystal to stabilize it, but now we finally have a place to stay that doesn’t make me incredibly dizzy! I’ll take some creepy monkey temple over a terrifying ship any day. /
After a bunch of investigation, it looks like we can solve them by giving them an object or action that completes their ‘scene!’ Finally, something that makes sense. Talking to haunts always gave me a headache, this is so much better. Also AFLKJASHDJADL whoever made that STUPID SQUIGGLE CODE sucks assss, I can’t look at it for more than 5 minutes or else I get a raging headache– Thank god Daisy is a legend and was able to do something about it. I’ve been talking to some of the other haunt people and it seems like this place was their safe house like we thought, and they don’t really remember what happened. Some people are talking about sailing a fleet of dinghies into another whirlpool to see if they can figure out anything else but that just seems ridiculous, thank god we’re not actually doing that.
WEEEEELLL GUESS WHAT PEOPLE!! When we actually decided TO go with that plan (even though I bet we’re totally gonna get lost and never get back to the 5 Masted Ship ((Oh right thats our base name)) and become mist haunts ourselves but oh well lol) and they needed people to join them, YOU BETTER BET I RAISED MY HAND! I ain’t no scaredy cat.
I don’t care how idiotic this is, I definitely won’t be left behind when these guys end up doing something real cool.
I. regret. everything. It’s only been two days, but I miss not having to sit on a dinghy floating through the ocean. Crazy, I know-
To pass the time I’ve been playing a counting game with Mike, I don’t know why but hearing him talk lightens my mood so fast.
AYYOOO, LAND AHOYYY!!! Only took another three days before someone hit land! For some reason it was hidden in the mists or something but we didn’t even see it, we just ran into it? God I’m so excited to get away from the god awful sea- I love it, but I think we are gonna take a break and have an open relationship for awhile you know?? Phew.
Actual people!? Wait this is crazy, I didn’t think we would ever meet actual living people in the mists, but I guess this place is like keeping out the mists. Right now it’s just Mortimer the wind guy, Eggbert the epic gnome fighter, Stitches the spider-lizard runeweaver, Mike our friendly neighborhood mini stick unweaver, Daisy the brightest sunshine kid you would ever meet, and me the rando guy in the back! I kinda feel left out but I try to help out when I can..
The people here are kinda weird, they have this election system and have people who talk to gods and stuff?? I don’t reeally understand but the gods they worship seem pretty interesting? Seems familiar in a weird way.
Stitches is a legend, somehow won the election to become the new Speaker to the Gods but he can only talk one word at a time??? What a legend.
Wow I forgot about this. If I’m being honest, it’s been a few months but with everything going on I didn’t have the time to write in this. We made it inside of a large crystal that seemed to BE the ECHO overlay, and spent what felt like forever exploring it until we found an old ork sitting next to a grave. Later we found out this was the grave of an oracle child who was likely stuck in there, who we tried to get out via weird messages we decoded but I’m not sure if it worked. From there was when I did my first of many “stupid actions,” the Kelas Ritual. Now to the readers of this who knows how long from now, I’d recommend not following in my footsteps. I collected all eight nine Circle of Kelas items and did a ritual, but ended up with a super curse that forever scarred me. What did happen though, was open a rift that took us to Slendrevnil’s cave, where we ran into many mist wraiths and dragonlike creatures before being constricted by a huge sandwurm and reading a prophecy we had found to get out and getting Slendrevnil herself. I have been chosen by her, and still wield her for now, we’ll see what happens. Currently I am sitting on the shore of what used to be Oldmarket, but it’s flooded.
We did realize though, what we might need to do to fix Teriock. The key was Lumenon, an ancient item that would lead us into Pearless, and that we had two pieces. One we got when Stitches became the Speaker to the Gods as it was the “Talking Stick,” and the other was an earring in the ECHO overlay. Now we were going to get the blue piece, and it is somewhere in Oldmarket.
It’s been a few days since my last entry, but we are going out in search of the next piece. There are weird chicken legs walking around, they are super loud. Also a bunch of screaming and the sounds of dragging in the distance, so we’re not really sure where to start.
Wow, okay, that just happened. This is gonna be interesting to write. Apparently the ancient archmage Tinderwhiskers had the item, but was completely hexproof to us taking it off of him. He seemed real crazy, telling us that the only truth in the world was Elder Sorcery and everything was either a trick or a lie as there was no relative truth besides it. In the end we got him to play a game with us using one of our friends’ ability called “Gamehunter Ritual” and got thrown into an animal dating game where we got turned into animals and had to get married via fae magic. The two lumenon pieces we had got married which was a huge success for us, Stitches married a lesser demon named Batheloth who used to be part of the Rising Star, and I got married to a book of dawning knowledge. We really hit it off, and I actually think we might have a connection… I guess we’ll see how that goes.
God I just had the longest discussion of my life trying to figure out what we want to do next. I think we’re traveling to the Daneb forest to find the Dealer there, but who knows. I think Lynx and Eggbert are going to go their on their own then come back later.
I think we’re choosing to teleport to Welandes, or whatever is at where Welandes used to be?
FUCK CORDELIA oh my fucking god this piece of shit. She just kidnapped Eggbert? Apparently this bitch was in between us and Welandes and had a spell that intercepted anything passing over here and kidnapped them. Lynx created a spell to figure this out, and we attempted to catch her but this fucking bitch was just an illusion the whole time. We lost the Compass of the Lost that allowed us to teleport, Eggbert, and too much time. God if I ever see her I’m going to lose my mind.
Ughhhh it took me awhile to get the motivation to write in this again. Things aren’t going well. Apparently what we thought the daneb dealer to be wasn’t, and we figured this out by solving the haunt of the real Daneb Dealer. She was a little bird, and when we solved her we were confused because there was a fake one in her hoard. We ran to her forest as fast as we could, and figured out there was a vampire green dragon in her hoard. I fought that shitter for what felt like forever. I was about to fucking die. I was the closest to morganti death I had ever been before, but right before I stepped over not one but THREE morganti filaments Slendrevnil cast a spell to save me. I am not doing okay. I got morganti charmed so the Daneb Dealer had to get another morganti wraith to charm me AGAIN but my mental state is still fucked up. That FUCKING VAMPIRE DRAGON piece of garbage ran away into the dream realm with 3 morganti wraiths. I can’t even anymore, I feel like I want to give up. We lost Eggbert, we nearly lost Slendrevnil as she’s depowered now because she saved me, everythings going downhill. Hopefully my next entry will be more lighthearted but I think not.
unfortunately things didn’t get any better. we found the Bitch’s ship. yeah thats right, cordelia. we tried fighting her, and blasted her with a big ol dirty dark shotgun. it blew off one of her wings, but sitches took a bunch of morganti, and nearly got frozen forever and captured by her. we kind of fucked up her ship but it didn’t go perfectly, and she pretty much escaped. i also lost my partner, bodk because of a brownie who stole them right out of my hands. im an idiot, i just let them be stolen. i feel like shit, and am probably the closest to quitting i’ve ever been. if we, or anyone else, ever fixes the mists. I hope it is worth our suffering, cause god damn is it exhausting. beyond belief.
We’ve finally made it to Welandes where I think we’ve had our first real “victory” in what feels like forever. We stole the red piece of Lumenon from the leader of the “Colony” or whatever they called it. I didn’t participate much as I was just trying to explore the area in search of the Oracle Child that was said to be here. Before I could find them, I was picked up by Lynx Stitches and a guy whose name I’m not allowed to know came flying out as fast as they can trying to escape the Mush Mother and her mushroom armada. They got the inner piece of lumenon that we were looking for, and it has the power to temporarily solve mist haunts??? Yeah this is definitely the thing we need to solve the mists. For sure.
Now all thats left is the black lumenon piece, and we think we know where it is. Apparently theres this giant floating dragon ship called “Dragu Bandin” and its somewhere near Five Masted Ship. First we have to go back to Oldmarket and grab the Talking Stick, then we’ll be on our way.
Thoughhhhh, I finally convinced people to take a small pit stop on the way at The Shal, as I had knowledge of the tomb of lorik the wave finally being reopened. We spent a lot of time opening it up and seeking out what we might find within there, but also in the meantime found traces of the Brownie that took Bodk, my spouse. It reminded me of how I failed them, but gave me hope that I may one day take my revenge. We got the Compass of the Lost which I am holding onto, and a legendary dagger which we will be able to Judge the being who stole my spouse from me once and for all. It felt good to do normal adventurer things for a change, and maybe things will continue going well from here.
But of course, everything went wrong once again. Long story short we apparently caused the a forest of seer fae to be sprouted into existence because of Sandstorm, a seer dragon that was released. We had attempted to keep him in a state of containment using the Talking Stick that cut his connection to divinity, but it didn’t work for long. His dreams created a forest of seers and the Fae Queen Mae to kidnap him and the Talking Stick, and Lynx had to put on a mask that nearly morganti killed him just to get the stick back. Sandstorm was taken by the fae queen, but at least we have the piece we were looking for. We’re now going as fast as we can to find Dragu Bandin as if we can get the last piece we might be able to get to Pearless and solve things once and for all.
Woah, so I just got beamed up to Dragu Bandin alone. The rest of my friends aren’t here, and I’m on an island of people that don’t even speak my language. It seems like they are the Twi Chien who had been living on this island, yet all of them are amnesiacs and have forgotten who they were. I am helping them for now, but my primary objective is to get the piece and leave.
Me and a few of the people on the island went deeper into Dragu Bandin’s core, and with their help we awoke the ancient dragon. Those not of it’s lands were kicked off, withered some. Some other bandians were as well, though by choice I believe. I think we did convince Dragu Bandin to give us a chance, allowing us to retrieve the final piece of Lumenon, but I believe there were irreparable damages we had done. Perhaps we might have solved some rift between our cultures, but once again they are gone. I hope to see them again someday, before I die. However long that may be.
I am writing this next entry a little after we left The Hand of Fate. This insane ship was owned by the Rising Star, more specifically Soman Lighthand. On board this ship was my first encounter with him, who I surprisingly developed a close friendship with. I believed my companions were manipulating him, and I ended up having a heart to heart while we were both a little under the influence, but perhaps this connection may sprout a deeper friendship. We won a game of bladefoot, got fucked up, and participated in the auction, though the most important thing to happen was finding out that the brownie I had been following was finally close enough to take my revenge on. I will spare the minute details, but it turns out this entity is not just a brownie, but a being who can transform and take the form of anything it learns about. It fed off of pain and suffering, and it fed off my loss from missing my spouse. Finally I had her back, but the creature was gone. Not without taking some heavy damage from the dagger of Judgement we got in Lorik’s tomb. But for the first time in what feels like forever, I am happy. I feel whole.
Just as the feeling of contentment faded, we realized we had to get back to our duty. Now that we had all five pieces of Lumenon, all we had to do was make them whole once more by casting the spell that had created it in the first place. Surprisingly we did it on our first try, but there was some weird time magic going on that may have helped us keep the ritual from fumbling. Now the only thing left is to get to the Tower of Pearl.
DISCLAIMER: I am writing the rest of my journal looking back on it and not as the events happen. Once we got through the meta maelstrom we had to make a choice between setting or rising sun, and I chose rising. This turned my mental state into that of a child, and I did not have the mental capacity to write a competent journal. Believe me, I tried and I tore the pages out because they were gibberish.
We traveled for years on a sea that felt endless, until we reached a small island. All it had was a palm tree, until we tried to explore it further and before our eyes the lands expanded and grew as our minds did. All of us embodied elves that were first exploring the inner sea, and became part of a greater story that we had to learn from to continue forward. Weird webs and spiga-like effects were at play keeping us within this story, and as we adventured we progressed through Teriocks timeline. First we met the ancient centaurs within these lands then we found the temples and buildings they had created. Slowly we saw as the place grew and aged, finding what represented the Dragon Devouring Demon and other ancient villains of Teriocks history. This continued on and on, until we found signs of Cordelia within Pearless as well. In an initial encounter with her we found that she was attempting to mess with the story we were in and draw power from it, but in an attempt to stop her Stitches Morganti Died. Before our eyes we saw as Batheloth cried out in pain, removing the crown from his head, putting it on his own head, and flying off into the distance for revenge. Before us was the end of a mind-bending journey through the dream realm, and it felt like everything shifted around us. Everything was still, as we woke up on the beach of a dry and cold shore. Before us was a world in black and white and an abandoned lighthouse held together by huge cobwebs. This was the Tower of Pearl, now no longer lit. As we looked around we saw the dead bodies of demonic creatures dead either morganti or otherwise. Remnants of the battle above us. Cordelia was the first thing I saw. She was in an angelic form, though with one mechanical wing. In one hand a crystalline sword, and the other a morganti weapon that flickered in the deadness of the night. Haunts swarmed her as I moved my eyes to see two other figures, one Batheloth and the other Stitches. They wielded Morganti readily, as this seemed to be the battle that would decide their fate. Eventually as the world itself felt like it was going to split apart, I saw the life leave Cordelia’s eyes and everything went still. The first moment of silence that only broke when I thought to myself that maybe everything was over. But it wasn’t. She had set a trap, trying to exorcise everyone around her, but with the help of Lumenon we prevented most of the damage. After finding ourselves stuck beyond the entrance, we finally managed to get in by revealing truths about ourselves that resonated with the tower. As we spoke these words, we slowly started to disappear, finding ourselves within one final room. Before us sat Gracewind. The one holding the tower together. The one holding the mists together. In both hands he clutched the strings of our world, refusing to let even a single one go. We learned that these were the final key to either keep Teriock as it were, or return it to what it once was. But he still refused to let go. Seconds went by, slowly I became more worried that we wouldn’t be able to convince him. It felt like there was nothing I could do- nothing anyone could do. I don’t even know how to describe what happened next, but the people who had chosen to not enter the tower appeared, and had our answer. Within his own mind he had been watching us and knew that he could interpret what was going on. He pulled on the strings that Gracewind was clutching, molded them, and freed them from his hands. As the very last second went by we huddled together as he pulled the string around us and we went within the looped threads. We felt as all of Teriock passed over us, as we were folded into its every seam. I cannot begin to describe this feeling other than a choice. To witness the world, or to shape it. Individually we began to embrace our choice, and those who chose the first remained, and those who chose to shape the world left as gods. We are the Avatars of the Second Folding. We are the saviors of teriock.
I end my journal here, as my story has reached somewhat of an end. I apologize for my writing, as I have changed and learned who I am throughout it. I hope it is comprehensive enough, and whoever finds the time to read it can gain some inspiration from it.
