People started fading before the orb was removed. All the same, you are probably right, and at the very least the tomb is taking a lot of mana drains right now.

And I don't think removing the skull will prove to be so simple...

We should more time. Because of the Kendri Militarily Katana's ability to copy the orb's field...I don't think it will have the same effect due to it being a copy and not "The Jade Orb of Sorikonia" but the time should be extended non the less.
So more like: Can you do it in sixty seconds?

Make that "can you do it instantly?" Seeing as the skull situation has gotten 5 times worse.

So, is somebody willing and able to summarize what went down with the skull?

Attempted Summary of the Skull Situation (people who were there, please correct my mistakes and add what I've forgotten)
So we went to the place that had the skull, and we went inside again. It had changed inside from last time. For one, the feeling of morganti was stronger - much, much, much stronger. In terms of spirit guide, it felt almost like screaming. Two, they were no longer marked with glowing lights, and we couldn't tell where they were until we poked them. Three, the hallway was much, much, much longer.
We edged along the wall again like we had last time, and some people poked at the morganti wraiths, and eventually we got to the area where the skull was. But that had changed, too. The morganti mana drain aura around it was much stronger, and much larger. And if you approached it within about 5-10 feet, it did what it did in the Shadowlands with basically evaporating you. And people were taking morganti mana drains much, much faster and from much further away - there was one that was instantaneous, and one that was 5s or so, and one that was 20s, and it was just really really bad.
We tried some things to interact with the skull. Orbs were thrown (and recovered), poems were read, challenges were issued, and we were unsuccessful at making it do anything other than mana draining us. Eventually other things were triggered and ancestor spirits came out and ate all of the morganti wraiths/ were destroyed in the process (they were all unfillamented at this point and mobbing us, and a lot of people took morganti damage and were in comas when they came out), and when that finally finished happening, the place we were in got very, very quiet. Like empty and hollow and very very bad silent.
So that's that.

Kim just to clarify for you what you people saw was the lights rush out and then the wraiths eating them. Apologies if that was not made clear and you thought we were playing the lights instead of the wraiths.

A few pieces to clarify. The field around the Skull was much stronger and you could only get about 15 feet from it if you were holding the orb. When the party had the orb, that was stable. Ray didn't throw the orb, he rushed the skull with it and died before be got 1/2 way there. The orb dropped from his dead hand and sat there in front of the Skull. That's when things began to escalate and the field grew in power. Your poem seemed to stir the spirits to action which briefly warned you whee the filaments were and returned the orb to you but in doing so seemed to awaken the filaments around the skull. They killed several players and drove the rest of the part back before the rest of the spirits in the hall rushed the wraiths and were consumed by the wraiths who dissipated and "went back to sleep."

So just a heads up people. Sunday is season finale and if you have learned anything about FanWar and season finale it is that you can't plan for what will happen, you can only plan to be as prepared as possible. Intricate plans requiring several different steps are unlikely to happen when the unexpected arises. Thus, if you have anything you want to get done before the day of, you had better get busy, and if you are working on anything that you think is critical to plot, you had better think of how you are going to make sure the group gets it done, or there will simply be no time. Just as important is being prepared for the mission itself. If you plan to go somewhere, but don't have a plan for how to handle things once your there, your going to loose a lot of time figuring out what to do. As you know, there is no way to predict things too exactly and thus minute planning is useless, but core principle plans and goals are a must if your going to get anything really accomplished. I will try to be available to answer questions, and get quick role play pieces out of the way.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the plan we proposed first that was disregarded was the one that actually worked? Also the fact that two of our biggest problems were dealt with the same way (a.k.a. bashing them over the head with a jade orb.)

Does anyone else find it ironc that Jeremy thinks the skull was easy to deal with... Tell they to the dead players those who have lost limbs and those who spent hour of their free time working on just how the situation works so they could even attempt a fourth try... It only seemed simpler because all the unknowns where known. It's like the shadowlands, once you understand how it's works is seems easy... But that took months of play and heaps of lives to solve .

I meant that In the sense easy as bashing it with an orb apposed to clearing out temples filled with morganti bombs or filaments

Perhaps the ultimate solution ended up being simple, but the costs were astronomical. That thing claimed the lives of more heroes than anything I have encountered to date in Fanwar, hands down. There may have been worse things, but I haven't encountered them. It was downright lethal, and even in the destruction of it, it took people with it. Easy it may have been in the end, but the path to get there was hellish.
